Guys, I'm thinking on buying a jock strap, any of you have them, any tips?

Depends, are you getting the jockstrap for sexy times or working out, to look good on them? All of the above?

I'd say looking at Amazon is worth it since it can give you an idea of what you may want. There are also lots of designer jockstraps sold through their own sites and the more generic jockstraps that you can get dirt cheap at something like Walmart, etc...

It's up to you really. Have fun shopping!

They're comfy. I have several. I wear them sparingly. They feel great wearing them and bf likes it when I wear them. ;) If you catch my drift. There is an alure to it that's a big turn on.

I'd probably own a ridiculous amount of jockstraps at this point in my life if I didn't live at home lmao. Can't have my mom seeing them in the laundry.

Why not? Jockstraps are widely used for sports.

Tell your mom they're for sports.

It's sad that jockstraps are our equivalent of crotchless panties. We really need better designed underwear.

There's always BallBra™

There you go! I was gonna say, because I remembered you mentioned gymnastics and thought jockstraps would be helpful for you, but wasn't sure if I was remembering correctly.

I honestly don't understand the existence of jock straps

Like why does it actually need to have no back?

Of course I don't have a problem with the existence of jock straps

It was quite literally meant as a bra for male genitalia, AFAIK. Though there's now other types of garment more suitable for that task.

So, in the context of function for athletes, it should have been phased out logically because everyone's normal briefs and trunks do the same thing and are a norm but some people just like the chance to wear something assless?

I, uh, guess so? Lol. We don't know what precisely the inventor was thinking, but I do have a suspicion

Jockstraps are supposed to have like a cup in the front of it right? I mean the back opening seems unnecessary (for athletes at least) but the cup seems helpful.

It's about sweat, breathability, and that stretch factor. Think of it as a more comfortable thong.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Dany and Urban Viking are literally twins.

Anyway I assume they're assless to prevent fabric from getting caught in between the sweaty booty.

Rest in peace. I wish he'd been able to get help before it came to this.

Really???

I can't believe this...

Edit:

Don't you have his number since you two hanged out?

I'll check. I may have deleted it.

edit: Though if I do should I call it? I think that'd be very strange for the family if he really did take his own life.

if i had known about that his final post in the the mental health thread i would have texted him before he did anything ;\

I didn't see that unfortunately.

I wish I could have done something. What a loss, and what a shame... He had so much going for him and so young.

Maybe just a text saying you want to check if he's ok. That won't be too weird imo but it's up to you. Really hope that isn't true.

You are truly a saint.

While the best practice for this is to keep an extremely close eye on members who have threatened suicide and on threads and communities where the suicide risk is high, your actions nor the actions of anyone at NeoGAF led to Pamplemousse's severe depression or his contemplation of death.

Please know that you did and have done everything in your power as a person that lives in another part of the country and that primarily communicates with people in this community through text-based communication.

You are not responsible for someone else's decision.

--

Suicide is a serious thing and is a very serious issue. But it is preventable. And while the only thing we can do now is grieve and celebrate his life, let us keep in mind that everyone here wants nothing but happiness for every other person involved in our little community.

And if anyone is contemplating ending their lives, there are resources out there that can and will help. Please contact the National Suicide Prevention Hotline or IASP

Yep. I have been there and got past wanting to end my life thankfully, I still have bad days but I haven't been that low since. But sadly not every one has the support of family/friends and therapy. Even then some people are too far gone for it to do any good. Sad how badly mental health problems are still treated in this world.

I really hope this news isn't true. Oh dear. We PMed a lot, and I had so much hope for him. I'm so sorry, Pamplemousse. RIP.

Best wishes to everyone that knew him.

Please let this news not be true.

I've been there too, and I know it takes a lot to make someone commit suicide... Poor guy, if I was near him I'm sure I'd end up trying everything to cheer him up.

Btw you guys have watched Moonlight? Is the ending sad? I'm sick and tired of watching sad gay dramas...

That's tragic if true. In retrospect it seems kind of obvious, I mean he was stuck in a pretty intense thought-loop. At the time I just found it annoying because it was so dense and impenetrable, but if a person was actually living that, they'd probably look for any way out, too.

It's no sadder than the rest of the film (to the contrary, if anything). It doesn't throw you any curveballs, if that's what you're worried about.

Really sad to hear about this if it's true.

I haven't been here long, but I've seen plenty of Pample's posts. It's hard to know how serious someone is on the internet, or to know the right thing to say... It's just terrible when someone feels like that's their only option.

Rest in peace Pample, life was just beginning and it's a shame you didn't see it :(

Reach out if you're in trouble, everyone. Choosing otherwise leaves you stranded and alone like this.
