I interact with him as little as humanly possible, particularly after he started throwing punches during the primaries. He's a piece of shit that tries really hard to hide the fact he's a piece of shit.

Two theories:

1. A psychological mess. She's truly scared of him and went along out of pure fear or self-preservation. Perhaps she was of the mindset of an ISIS wife - she thought that with the rise of Antisemitism and the Alt-Right, especially over the past year, that she needs to 'convert' in order to save her life and have a place in the new Trump/Alt-Right future? A kind of self-brainwashing.

2. A scam artist. She's not a devout Jew and doesn't give a shit about her religion. She may be of the mind of - "Fuck it. We're making nice cash off this thing. I'll just play along and if we get caught, I'll throw my husband under the bus and play the Stockholm Syndrome card." - Or some crazy shit like that.

??

Who knows. It's all very twisted and disturbing.

Here's how to rationalize it: he doesn't dislike individual jews, he dislikes their "control of the media", their "snakey ways" and the "ZOG", or whatever he says about them.

Like racists who say that their black co-worker is fine but they still don't like black people, or how some feminists say they hate men except for the men they like.

I think it's called cognitive dissonance? It's such a weird situation.

This guy and his wife sound like a trolls. Or like someone pointed out earlier it could be self hatred, which is actually a real thing. This whole new "nazi" movement seems insincere and only too provoke people and laugh when people think they're serious. Of course, I know there are many who aren't trolling. But if you say the same things and spread horrible bullshit to try to trick people, I don't think there's really a difference.

Somehow, somewhere, a whole bunch of Jewish people lost track of why the Holocaust happened, and Muslims are the next convenient target. I mean, you can't honestly all be surprised by (US) Jews riding Islamophobia hard in the current media system and climate, probably a lot more so than other social groups.

They're not some mythical isolated group that isn't influenced by the exact same crap as everybody else. Whether they are more of less influenced (I do wager more) isn't something I can say without survey stats, but if the general population has X% fascists, that same X% should be expected in every group, including Jewish (who are overwhelmingly considered 'white' in the US too), and even Muslims (but less, because very small minority and 'not white' ).
