Aargh. One of my Bricklink orders was delivered to my workplace while I was away but can't seem to find it. Really wanted to build Brickbeard's Bounty today. Maybe I'll go ahead and build with different coloured parts from other sets for now and replace them later. It was only about 6 pieces anyway.

Looking good, but I can't stand that retailer exclusives bullshit that was being going on since last wave (Marceline, Knight Rider, Excalibur Batman, and now this).
Where's Hermione exclusive to? TRU again?

Marceline will get a wide release February 10th, so I'd expect KR and EB to get a wider release with wave 8.

Star Wars 2017 2H:

Just prelims for now, but man does that Scout Trooper with Speederbike look good!

I think the only one of these that interests me is the Quad Jumper. I hope they put in a play feature where you can throw a lever and all four engines "explode" outwards. That'd be fun.

I wish we were getting a UCS First Order Star Destroyer Finalizer.

I hope they make a C3P0 constraction figure in the same technic heavy body building style of K2S0 before the star wars line inevitably ends. Would be cool to get a shitload of Technic pieces recolored in pearl gold.

Are those the EXACT same ones as the ones that come with the SSD then? (Talking about Bossk and Dengar)

We won't know until Toy Fair probably, but I'm thinking Dengar will probably be the same one from the Freemaker set last year. I'm betting Bossk will be a new version, as it's been a long time since the SSD.

Hermione fun pack:

Wow, I am shocked they didn't do a team pack with her and Ron. I'm hoping they do a Ron pack so I can have the trio. I don't have much hope for their being a season 3 so keep coming while you still can Lego.

What makes you say that though?

Feels like the first wave was clogging up shelves till they got marked down (even to 99 cents) which is not a good sign. Toys to Life has an uneasy track record and Dimensions products are pretty pricey. They also seem to have cut back on this second wave in supply which is a sign of them being conservative/wary with the line. Nothing hard evidence wise just some red flags i'm noticing. Story Packs was/is a great idea for the line but the way they implemented them was probably a mistake. I salute them for trying to give a bigger building element to the line with the Story Packs but since you can only have one display on the portal at a time they become an expensive redundancy. They were better off doing them at $30 with two figs and two builds since they aren't full fledged games replacing the Level pack price range and lowering level packs to $20, team packs to 15 - 12 and fun packs to 8. Roughly, i'm just doing quick math in my head from previous sales and price points. I also feel they didn't mix up this season good enough with all the obscure sets coming out together and ones like TTG and PPG coming out at the same time. Just my two cents, don't want to see it go under since I literally now have every set so far and am continuing to collect them but I have serious worries.

Welp, they had a good run i guess...

Seriously, it's not done yet but i can see what you mean sort of. Would be kinda sad to see it go, then again, i really didn't play enough of it to justify me getting AS many sets as i got overall, so, just like Mixels, it would probably be a good thing if it just ended at some point or else i'd be forced to keep collecting ;(

My wallet would be ecstatic if they stopped but I would be sad. Especially if they would continue doing these obscure sets (give me Airwolf with Jan Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgnine figs dammnit!). It's irrational to collect them all but i can't help my OCD. i have one of those blue Dimensions cases to hold my basic most used figs and builds and the rest are all stored away in a drawer, don't even have anywhere to display them if I wanted. I still run in to the occasional puzzle that requires a specific fig to solve and makes me have to dig through my drawer to find it. They were villainously adept at designing this game to get to people like me.

while this is no means authoritative, someone I know at Travelers Tales Games seems pretty confident in it's future. Internally they were all pretty excited the day Disney announced they were cancelled Disney Infinity as it opened up the potential for all those IPs to come to LEGO

Thats pretty cool if they are still excited for it. I guess we will know something for sure come E3. I would imagine they would already have the groundwork for a season 3 in the planning stages at this point if they were going forward. I'm also surprised they didn't do anything for Nexo Knights and it seems a little late to do anything for it in season 3 but if they are continuing Nexo Knights they still should. A season 3 could be incredibly huge for them if they worked out a deal with Disney to include all their properties, Marvel, Star Wars and Disney characters all with the current Dimensions sets. DC and Marvel living together in one world mass hysteria!

Remind me, was there a book with a Superman figure released last Fall? Does anyone remember if it was special or just a normal Superman?
This one?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1338047442/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Looks like a regular Superman.

EDIT: Beaten.

So this post doesn't go to waste, are there any current low-cost sets out there right now that feature plastic feathered wings? I know there were a bunch of bird-man figures in the Chima sets but those are all but gone.

My Hawkman figure's flimsy wings are starting to bug me.

It's up! And somewhat surprisingly, people are already finding it.

Long story short, I really wanted to make my own Lego Trico, and as it turned out so good I figured it should have a shot on Ideas. I was actually surprised to see that it hadn't already been suggested. I think using the constraction foot for Rey was a pretty unique thing, though :).

Someone already commented that the legs are too long and I somewhat agree, but it should work fine for now and it's important that they work both sitting and standing so I can't mess around with them too much.

Now, how should I go about promoting this? I think making a topic would be a bit selfish...

I think it looks really great when its all perched up like that. Looks just like trico in that pose. And yeah the use of a CCBS foot for the nose is genius lol. That tower is really well done too. I do think the proportions could be improved, mainly making the legs about 5 studs shorter. Upper parts are just too long in my opinion and its really noticeable when he's standing up. But like you said it might sacrifice articulation. Organic stuff is always hard to make look right in all poses with Lego since in reality things bend and stretch around the joints.

I'd say posting it around on reddit would be a good start. /r/lego, /r/games, /r/thelastguardian, etc.

Yeah, for what it's worth back when I worked at Lego I heard similar stuff. Even before DI was cancelled there were rumors of Marvel showing up in Dimensions, but not Star Wars since that was gonna be the next DI theme. Now that they're all up for grabs I feel like anything could happen, outside of actual Disney characters showing up since for whatever ridiculous reason Disney simply refuses to give people what they want and let them mingle with each other and different properties.

Plus as I brought up in another thread, with the fact that they need lead time to secure IPs, design and create sets, and then also develop game content, I feel like we would have heard long, long ago that the well was drying up. When Dimensions first launched they said they had stuff planned for at least 3 years and, considering lead times, they were very likely already working on concept stuff for Year 3 at that time.

Year 4, though, who knows.

To be honest I'd rather more WB stuff than Disney, I'd love to see some Looney Tunes characters, Bugs Bunny, Daffy, Tas, etc

Amazing! Supported offcourse. The body might be a bit to slim (which makes the legs feel extra long), but that's only a slight critisism. In many poses it looks so brilliant!

Edit: tweeted the ideas link to shuhei yoshida. With some luck he RT's and you'll get massive exposure. Hope that was okay?

Nice Trico MOC...

I've just finished Assembly Square (close to 8h)...

Wow. That's an impressive piece to build. A lot of nice details and microbuilts. A huge number of easter eggs alluding to previous sets, I'm not sure I've recognized all of them. I'm pretty sure there's a detail corresponding to all modulars, but there's a couple I haven't found yet. Also, what are the things on the shelf above the armchair in the flat?

So many parts I've seen for the first time, too (although they weren't intriduced there, I've simply missed them in past sets).

Has parisian restaurant have been toped? I'd say so...

Just saying (hate to but...): To have something planned, specially at the developing side, does not mean that stuff will be released it is all about the big money guys. Disney Infinity had a ton of stuff planned and some almost near completition when they pulled the plug. The devs did not know beforehand. Skylanders seems to be in a bad spot too, which declining sales. There is a toys to live fadigue. However I still hope for Dimensions, because it is an incredible pool of IPs, some Lego eould not ridk touch otherwise.

Don't burn yourself out and end up needing another 3 years out!

I've spread my pet shop build over 3 days and will finish it later after work.
There's something so satisfying about using brand new Lego, and putting all those tiles in place on the modulars. Love it.

A week. I guess I'm slow, that would be months of work for me

..yah I must've underestimated my build times on these :) Been working on Assembly Square today for ~7 hours so far and I just go through with parts 1 and 2:

That's almost the time it took me for the whole build, and I thought I was a bit slow ^_^ (especially since I dislike 1x1 that aren't perfectly aligned, and I try to turn the pieces so that injection points are hidden)

Took me ~1h for bag 1 and ~1h30 for bag 2 (which was the longest one for me)

Well, at least, you'll enjoy the build for more time... I found it stellar from start to finish.

Above the armchair is a shelf with Cafe Corner, Market Street and Green Grocer.
