Looks like that F-104 Starfighter is flyable in game.

Other new planes were the Typhoon and the Mirage 2000.[/QUOTE]

The Typhoon and Mirage 2k are in AC6 and Assault Horizon. Or did you mean new as in "newly revealed for this game"?

Hope the Starfighter randomly crashes. Sure, this is an arcade game but still, that part of Starfighter history is semi-hilarious (especially the German jokes about it).

Basically Warhawk's/Starhawk's pro-flight modes.

Each stick controls various pitches and such (I don't know the correct terms).

This video only shows both sticks being used and doesn't really explain what does what but I think it should be easy to see what's going on (1 minute mark):

Okay I think I understand what you are talking about, but I don't think they would put that in an Ace Combat. While I haven't played an Ace Combat game in a few months, I have played a lot of Sky Rouge, which controls the same way as the PS2 ones do if I remember correctly so I'm pretty in tune with how that type of control works. First off many Ace Combat planes are real world aircraft, and no plane in the world controls like that. Planes have a central control stick that controls pitch and roll (rolling and pulling up and down), and pedals that control yaw (left and right turning). It looks to me that you control the control flaps individually in Warhawk with each stick, which allows for quick erratic movement and that might be a great thing for a very arcade controlling game like Warhawk. Like the plane in that video is going super fast and can turn on a dime, which is not how planes work usually (Except for the dumb ass scripted bosses from AC: Assult Horizon) AC tries to balance arcade gameplay with real world setting, so I don't think they would completely change how the planes work to add in those controls.
Secondly it looks visually janky to me personally, but if it feels good in that game I'd probably get over it. But in AC I don't think that a control method would mesh with the aesthetic or gameplay.
But more options for the player is always better, so it would be cool if they added in an option to fly like that in AC7 for you.

I've only ever played through 4 (and I really liked it). I'm excited, but I hope the story isn't completely lost on me if I haven't played the rest by the time I get around to this.

I wasn't expecting the multiplatform announcement. I wonder if some deal fell through or if it was a timed reveal. Either way, it's good news. More people get to play Ace Combat.

It's weird to get hung up on, but I'm very specifically excited to fly through a thunderstorm. That one lightning shot looks so cool.

Thanks for the response. You know, I did think of the real world aspect but I still liked the idea of a dual control scheme. As mentioned in my other post, both sticks control the aircraft the same way but one acts as if the camera is fixed to the plane, rolling with it, and the other is detached which shows the plane rolling while maintaining a steady camera. Using them both allows the player to pull up with one stick and roll with the other creating nifty maneuvers and camera angles. So yeah, I guess it wouldn't work but it's an issue I have playing flying games I've noticed. Battlefront being a more recent example of something I wish allowed dual stick support. Maybe I should keep practicing.

Any idea if its gonna have a season pass? Who knows the next time we'll get a game after this so I'd hope that they stretch out the life of 7 as long as they can.

I've never played an Ace Combat game, but I've always been interested in checking the series out once I found out about all the cutscenes and story. I'll play this in VR on my PS4 Pro.

Really hope so.

Totally want additional DLC single player, multiplayer and VR, during 2018.

Great news that Ace Cobat is coming for the X1 and PC as well! :)

Maybe as an Scorpio launch game? ;)

Better call Kenny Loggins, cuz you're in the Danger Zone.

Anyways, glad it is coming to PC.

'bout time we get to fly the Century Series. Don't recall having those in previous games.

The Starfighter is definitely my favourite, but I'd also love to see the F-106 Delta Dart in the game. And the nuke rocket would def be a nice addition to the Ace Combat arsenal :D

I'm a little bummed there isn't more excitement out there, but then again it is kind of a niche series. My hope is this sells more than 3 million copies, though that might be a bit too optimistic.

So...convict air squadron. What sort of crimes did they commit? Interesting. Is it Osea or Erusea that's using convicts for pilots? My guess is Erusea, they'd still be well and truly fucked this soon after. A new government -- a Kingdom by the looks of it -- and a declaration of war. Hmm.

My guess is that you're Erusean this time. That might be a nice change of pace.

Might need to stop sniffing glue
PSVR.
Not as PS4 platform exclusive.

It was semantics. If you want to play technicalities, correct, never says no other systems in those words. At the time, all they said was PSVR. They hadn't even said it wasbt only going to be VR if you want to go that route.

God damn, I want this game so fucking bad.

I think it's awesome that Ace Combat 7 is coming to Xbox One and PC, more potential buyers, more sales, which will hopefully result in AC7 DLC missions and eventually, AC8.

You aren't the only one. I've been hoping for a new Ace Combat game since this generation started.

They are going to need to cut the dialogue for the trailers better then. Coming off that cheesy and straight up awkward isn't going to win anyone over.

Yep, and it's been a decade since Ace Combat 6.

The Ace Combat 6 revel trailer at the Xbox conference is still one of my favourite E3 moments.

"Demo available now"

First thing I did when that conference ended was download the Ace Combat 6 demo and then spent hours and hours playing it. I really hope they add it to backwards compatibility soon, I'd definitely pick up a digital copy if they did, that way I won't have to keep messing around with the disc.

Everyone better buy this game ! That is if its as food as it looks and is a real ace combat. This is gonna get me to buy ps vr and maybe even a ps4 pro.

As long as this isn't a QTE-fest like Assault Horizon, then I'll be picking this up on the Xbox One and the PC. Gimme dat Ace Combat super cheese!

A new Ace Combat will be so welcome in today's gaming climate and game selection. There is literally zero semi sim/arcade flying games on the market - the only game that even tried to compete was Hawx and that game was godawful. AC had a steady stream of releases back in the day and then it just stopped. Assault Horizon was a nearly franchise killing game I guess.

Us flight junkies need our fix - been too long! I have been resorted to flying jets in Battlefield 3 and 4 the past few years with Ace Combat music in the background, heh.
