WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
These guys are probably old hat to people here but my friend introduced me to SubRosa over the weekend and good god not only is this some amazing doom metal, but damn Troubled Cells just hits way too close to home due to my own history/close friends history with the mormon church.

Hi there, I've got an insane request to help me remember an album that I checked out a while back, that I've completely forgotten the details of. I'm not expecting anything because it's beyond vague but I thought if anyone could help it would be you guys. I've been searching for ages now and I'm losing my mind at my lack of success.

Basically, this was a side-project type album that came out within the last 4-5 years, involving I believe members of the doom/experimental genre, the sort of stuff that would be released on Southern Lord etc. I feel like a member of Sunn O))) and Boris were involved among others, but searches with them have gotten me nowhere so that might be wrong. I feel like it was a three word name, but again my memory has completely failed me!

I know it wasn't Shrinebuilder or Corrections House, and not any of the Sunn/Boris collaborations. Does anyone have any other suggestions that might help me out?

Thanks in advance for this ridiculously vague request haha.

Only thing I can remember is the Sunn O)))/Boris - Altar album.

Teutonic thrash in a good place, if only the country can resurrect their underrated progressive thrash offerings, I need a new Jester's March album

I didn't think Accept without Udo would be anything noteworthy but the Tornillo albums rule. When it comes to German metal anything is possible!

Now I gotta go listen to Metal Heart AGAIN because that guitar solo is just too good.

Hell yeah, toss in some Black Fate - Commander of Fate as well

Thrash is one of the few styles of metal I generally don't like but those new Kreator songs Nuclear Blast put on their channel aren't bad. Could either mean that it's indeed a damn good album or that it's branching out into other genres. I don't know.

New Kreator is legitimately great.

Plus, has there ever been a better timed song release than "Totalitarian Terror"?

The song that got me into Grave Digger!

I actually heard the Rebellion cover of this song first, then found out it was a cover, then got into Grave Digger.

My Man! This song rips when lifting, such a great tune.

Best Grave Digger song is LIONHEART

"He executes all prisoners, without regret!
Corpses cover the ground as the sun sets!"

Hell Yeah! I was trying to post Over The Sea, but it is not uploaded, so put it in for a spin got it blasting

A little late, but the new sepultura album is goddamn amazing.

That is all.

I've listened to bits of it intermittently and while it has some good moments, it's not a great album overall. Maybe I just need to find some time to listen to the whole thing from start to finish, but nothing has overly impressed me that I've heard.

I wonder if Necrobutcher and Hellhammer just wanted to drink beer and act dark and had no idea what they were getting into when they started hanging out with Euronymous and Dead.

So we're actually getting two Mastodon albums this year believe it or not. Or at least technically.
Before they started Emperor of Sand they were working on a project (a double album at the time) called "A Cold Dark Place", that album is going to be released as a Brent Hinds "Solo" album in June a couple months after Emperor of Sand, so you have that to look forward to.

And there's the Gone is Gone album with Troy Sanders, which kinda sounds like a mellow Mastodon record.

Giving Black Metal a zillionth chance by listening to some Mayhem.
I like it more than most stuff I've listened to this far, don't love it though.
