Microsoft joins Amazon in lawsuit over Trump's immigration ban
http://www.theverge.com/2017/1/30/14447166/microsoft-amazon-washington-trump-immigration-ban-lawsuit

Other tech company executives, ranging from Tesla CEO Elon Musk to Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg, have spoken out against the order. Yet only Amazon, Microsoft, and Expedia — all of which are based in the Seattle area in Washington — are in a position to support this particular legal challenge to the immigration ban, at least until more lawsuits begin popping up around the country.

Step it up, Silicon Valley

Gonna be in Seattle/Bellevue for an on-site interview with a pretty big name in gaming soon :) Really excited and hoping it works out and I can become a permanent fixture in SeattleGAF.

SeattleGAF isn't a physical thing. We're the epitomy of the freeze. ;-)

Speaking of freeze, had some pretty snow last night around 10pm and then freezing rain this morning. Roads were fine. Back to rain now.

But is it better than La Carta de Oaxaca? Because if not, what's the point.

It's different. It's like, a steakhouse that seasons their steaks Mexican style. Like a more afforable, spicier metropolitan grill.

Carta remains my favorite place to eat in Seattle, the reason I was okay moving here a decade ago, and a large part of why I moved from Northgate to Frelard 2 years ago

I saw some snow on the ground this morning. I'm feeling traumatized.

Give us the scoop on Half Life 3
I'dl like to keep the job I haven't even gotten yet :p

Good luck!
Thanks!

Where you gonna live? Eastie-Beastie or Westy-Besty?

Assuming this was targeted at me, I dunno! If I do get a job offer, that'll be something to figure out. I previously visited and stayed with a friend who lives in Fremont and really, really liked that neighborhood, so maybe I'll start there.

Just say no to eastside living. ;-)

Ah, I see, so the suburbs east of Seattle. Yah, no, I currently live in the Bay Area equivalent (Silicon Valley/South Bay) of that, and made that choice to be close to work but I'd much rather be in/closer to the City proper. Definitely westside ;)

Oh hey, the primary opponent if the SoDo arena and the main backer of the no vote on the street vacation for said arena just had their CEO resign over the discovery that they were using state funds to pay people under the table.

What an interesting development.

I get the importance of the Port of Seattle, but I absolutely hate how they act like a special snowflake and hold everyone hostage.

Asadero Ballard? I wanted to eat there, but it was too crowded and the line was outside the door :(

That's the one, yeah. We ate our steak at the window-bar seats, which was a little awkward, but since there was a line out the door the whole time and we kind of were able to snag those seats quick because no one else wanted them, it effectively prevented me from becoming hangry and ruining date night

I'm getting a shit ton of snow down here in south king county. Y'all good?

Probably not gonna be cold enough to freeze and make a huge mess, but it'll be a slushy mess nonetheless.

Lots of snow in Fremont / Wallingford but absolutely none of it has stuck yet.

Definitely sticking here. I live on top of a pretty steep hill and a snow pastime is watching drivers stupidly try to go up or down it. It usually ends pretty badly.

Starting to build up on roofs in the U-District. We'll see if it sticks overnight. I'd work from home tomorrow but we're getting paid tomorrow so I need to go in :(

we've got like 6 or 7 inches in Issaquah. It started around 3pm and it has not stopped at all. I heard they had to close a lot of the roads into the highlands because of spinouts and abandoned cars.

gonna stay home tomorrow and avoid this nonsense. I hope everywhere else gets it too so I don't feel as guilty :p

I didn't dare to hope but I woke up this morning and found out all seattle public schools are closed today due to snow. At first I didn't believe it because the district's automatic alert never went out, still hasn't, but I got an email from the public affairs office confirming it. A day off for me! That really means more time to grade from home but I'll take it.

Wow the snow keeps coming. In Queen Anne, its more fluffy snow now than it was last night. I'm impressed. Can't wait to go out later.
