I mainly voted for Lyn, so glad that she won the poll! Same with PoR Ike far as my male pick.
Would have rather had Hector over Roy, but I don't mind Roy. Same with Lucina.

Young Ike is fueled by the fires of vengeance and revolution.
Old Ike is boring.
They even had the good sense to preserve all his boss abilities from PoR, including the most important one: Boss Music Override. When you fight some poor doomed fool with the Black Knight, his boss music plays instead of the normal fight music.
Good to see Ike and Lyn taking this. Both are deserving winners.
Ike has always been the best. Deserved.
Lyn on the other hand... why is she so popular? She isn't even the best girl in her own game.
All this roy hate though... Having actually played FE6, I do not get the hate. Especially when FE6 > FE7. Better game, heroes, everything.

Lyn's appeal makes sense, even if I think she's slightly overrated. She would rank near the very top in FE7 as far as major characters go, if her execution wasn't so flawed.
Roy is traaaaaash in every regard in FE6. There isn't a single facet of his character that isn't terrible.
Hector is popular because he's the polar opposite of Roy; there isn't a single facet of his character that isn't amazing.

I remember hearing about how great Lyn was before ever trying her game and was disappointed when I actually played it. Since she's pretty much forgotten in the story after the prologue ends.
The game is a prequel to a game that Lyn isn't in. They sort of wrote themselves into a corner. All the more reason for a FE7+6 remake.
Keep in mind that Lyn was the first exposure many of us had to the series. Our first unit, our first Lord, our first hero.
Her campaign in the prologue is also short form narrative perfection.
And her animations, holy shit. It's a genuine pleasure to watch her crit some fools.

I hope this might motivate them to work on a remake of fe7. Could even combine fe6 to have the generation gimmick that they love to do. Glad my favourite fe lords Lyn and hector did so well.

The animations in the GBA FE are something else. When will we get that fantastic animation again?

Hector didn't need to move fast when he was literally an invincible, killing tank of destruction. 0 durability? Mediocre weapon type? Your typical Lord pitfalls never applied to Hector.
Also his arc in his own route trumps pretty much everything Lyn has, and then some.

Pokemon had a similar popularity poll a few years ago that has me wondering if they'll be doing the same thing they did there. For that poll, they distributed not only the most popular mon as promised, which was Greninja, but then later announced and did a distribution of the least popular Pokemon, which ended up being Simisear, with the excuse of it trying to "improve it's reputation".
If they do the same thing here, here's your four biggest losers ladies and gentlemen.

I just realized that PoR Soren was a top 25 male and that if you combine his PoR and RD votes, he was in the top 15! Woooooo! I hope that means we'll get him as a character once PoR/RD characters are added.
If they were committed to doing two sets from the start, it might have been interesting to take the top results for male and female lords/leads and regular characters separately. Tharja would be getting different variations regardless, but I wouldn't mind seeing another Henry.
There's no possible way he won't be in, considering the cross-sections of the playable cast available for currently represented games. If anything, you should be worried about which artist gets assigned to him, or the voice acting...

Good point. My fear was much more real before the game launched and I realized how many random characters were included. At this point, I guess he's guaranteed.
I'm VERY curious about the art and voice acting. It'll be interesting to see how the character is interpreted in 2017.
