I will say, the one good thing about Kotaku was their attempt to try to localize the show.Every time this thread is bumped with no new subtitled episode, a piece of me dies.
I'd gladly pay a monthly subscription fee to have the newest episodes translated. I miss this show.
I feel exactly the opposite, the show worked way better in a full Japanese context, with just subs. Kotaku's version stripped the show of its character and charm.
I give them credit for trying, but the narrator that dubbed over Kan was way too enthusiastic and corny, not playing against type for the theme of the show the way Kan does, which is why his narration works.
Close to three months now, since the last translated episode.
Yeah, it really sucks how slow the episodes come out. I might just go back to watching them untranslated at this point.

I have a Something Awful account. To make a long story short: Life happened. Seems optimistic for the beginning of next year. The first of a two-parter is for sure done, but Zari needs more time to get the other episode done before it goes out.
Curiously enough, YouTube randomly recommended this to me at the end of some random video lol. It's not a translation, but it's a new video of Game Center DX, and it's about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It's unfortunate that it's not Arino.

That's Hamaguchi, Arino's comedy partner. He's brought him up on CX a few times, it's pretty funny. When he's out on location, people ask Arino about Hamaguchi too lol

When the series got more "mainstream" success, that even Kotaku bought one season, we got like so many episodes it was hard to keep up. When people kinda lost interest, now we get nothing for months.
A bit like the old days, when T-N stopped subbing it and nothing came out for years till S-A did it.
I can understand that, but when it was popular not only zari was subbing it, but we also had some other groups/people subbing the episodes.

Since the topic is bumped, this is a perfect time as any, but I recently watched the Kickle Cubicle episode and I got a bit emotional haha. When I was a kid, I had a Nintendo Power issue where in one of the Counselor's Corners, one of the counselor's fav NES game was listed as KC. After that, I had to play that game. After all I only played the "best" games!
Brought back memories of my dad calling video stores to see if they had it for rent, with me cowering in some corner with my fingers in my ears because I knew they wouldn't have it. I really wanted to see what Kickle Cubicle was. It was kind of a childhood obsession! Then I played it and it was OK. At least for my kid tastes.
Made me want to revisit it sometime.
God I love this show.

Like most of the DVDs, its mostly old stuff with one new challenge. This time, the new challenge is Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
