I decided to pull while I streamed and while I did not get what I wanted (Vaan's BSB) I did snag Squall's OSB, a Seifer SSB, and an Ashe BSB. I think this is my first ice based SB so it is not so bad.

2/11 Holy Rod (XII), Sorceress's Might (VIII)
Hooray for XII Medica (plus it has a Holy boost). In all honesty I probably shouldn't have used any scarletite on Sorceress's Might because in VIII it is massively outclassed by Cardinal+++. Since both characters are level 80 I guess I have to "waste" EXP mastering these SBs...

Wow, 4/11 I got really lucky for a change on this lucky draw, but it's entirely mage stuff.
Got my first OSB, Rinoa's. Not even sure if it's good, but it's my first disco ball, so that's something.
Also got Shantotto, Edea, and Quistis SSB's.
Curious, if I were to start running mage meta for something. What are the must haves for it?
I'm assuming haste/cast time reduction, healing SSB, and magic up. I'm not sure outside of onion knight (which I don't have) what else is good for mage meta though.

You got arguably the best relic on the banner and it wasn't a dupe
For now, its better to do realm dungeons to increase your max stamina
Its also a good idea to try beating the first 2~3 event dungeons (from the Dawn of a Legend event) to get a few characters

Quistis' Scorpion helped me beat CM FFVIII mote. Rinoa heal boost. Irvine PD full break. Squall LS to OSB. Quistis MB AB with Scorpion recast. Selphie heal and protect.
LD paying off. Though 5 dexterity motes do shit when I have 1 vitality. Power orbs were nice. 1 power and 2 lightning from FB r3, 6 uses.

1. Your main focus at the moment should be Realm dungeons as they both give you stamina and some useful materials. Mythril is the name of the game here and it is the main source of income used to progress, be it with drawing relics or expanding inventory space. With the amount of Realm dungeons and their elites, you have hundreds of Mythril waiting for you.
2. You should try to clear event dungeons as far as you can. They also give you Mythril but also new characters, upgrade materials (like eggs for experience or orbs for honing abilities) and sometimes even new abilities. Utilize RW (Roaming Warrior) for most ease of clearance. Again, at this starting point, DON'T WORRY IF YOU CAN'T GET VERY FAR.
3. When wishing to draw on a banner, ALWAYS aim to do 11x draws. Not only do you get one extra relic but you are also guaranteed to get at least a 5*, which are crucial for clearing higher content as they provide stronger Soul Breaks. You should aim for relics that have the following:
- A "Medica" - A Soul break that heals your entire party
- A "Wall" - Soul Breaks that double the Defence and Resistance for the entire party (currently only two - Tyro's Sentinel's Grimoire and Y'shtola's Thyrus)
- A "Hastega" - Soul breaks that cast haste on the entire party
These three are the "holy trinity" and owning all three types gives you a lot of advantage and is a goal for a lot of players, even long term ones. I still lack a decent Hastega, for instance.
One more is:
- A "Boostga" - most optional of the bunch, but these usually increase your ATK or MAG stat for the entire party
So the advice is to aim for banners that include these. I would advise saving most of your mythril for the Anniversary banners that are coming out next month as they are absolutely monstrous.
Also read a bit about Soul Break "tiers" (SSB, BSB, OSB) to see the characteristics of each. BSBs in particular are currently considered most useful.

6 months or so late, but hell yes! So much RNG buggery (he only used Meteor once on this attempt, and it was just after Selfie had given everyone Magic Blink via Dreamstage) but good to get it down. The relic i got for Rinoa from the lucky draw made all the difference!

Dupe shit ass burst for Penelo, some shit wand for shantotto.
Had 4 relics on the banner and of course as always I get a dupe. Wouldn't have minded if it were any other dupe but her burst is fucking trash. And then I get a wand that does 5 non elemental hits so no hitting a weakness there.

I had 2 on the banner. Zell's Crystal Gloves and Squall's Punishment. Got a dupe in the gloves and a new item, Quistis' Red Scorpion and then a dupe of that. I'm not complaining. Anything is better than 0/11. I remember those times all too well.

Good pulls here, one was mediocre. Zells crystal glove ssb and irvines hyper break. I'm on quite a run of hyperbreaks now. Mustadio, cid IV, cait sith, and now Irvine. An interesting interview mix to use as warranted. Undecided on an viii pull, I'm in more need of xii relics...

fyi, if you're on an ipad 4 now's the time to cash out MC1's for eggs, the presses line up so you can just mindlessly convert them. no luck on the hero's souls, going to have to wait for another update. 70 more greater eggs in the bank.
edit: I've been very loose with eggs since Onion Knight and still have 66m exp for a rainy day. why on earth am I bothering using my mages from 80-99 when I can just max them, rinoa/ashe. hmm.

Yea. I've that in Japan. It's the shit. I'm pretty sure I'm saving up all my mythril bar lucky draws and fest's until it comes around. Hoping to snag Zack's chain on the same banner too. I RW it a the moment and melt everything.
On another note. Good LD for me this time. Vann and Ashe BSSBs. Had neither.

Damn, that is a nice haul. I have Ashe BSB and it's pretty much a win button against anything weak to lightning. I use it a ton.
Vaan BSB was the #1 thing I wanted from this Lucky Draw... wound up with a couple of lame SSBs instead.

should i keep going with this party for the time being or should i switch people out once in a while ?

Replace White and Black as soon as you get another healer/mage. Their stats are average at best, and they can't even use 5-star White and Black magic, for some reason
You can see what a character can use by pressing and holding their sprite on the party menu, and then choosing 'Useable'.
You will notice Black Mage can only use 4* black magic, and White Mage can only use 4* white magic
The usual rule for characters is, using who you have relics (ie. equipment with soul breaks) for. But thats only for later.. For now, you can use anyone you want

Raijin ban hammer seifer ssb gloves. OK with that wanted a +wind equip but a +dark bracer is really nice can use in all realms.
Pulled everything on the banner so far except Fujin outfit, Raijin Shoulder pad and Seifer BSB. Going to do one more 11 pull later and hopefully pull Seifers BSB but I'm incredibly happy I pulled Raijin and Fujins BSB's.
I firmly believe you already have the strongest VIII synergy of all players of this game

Whiffed VIII on the first. Did get IV white robe which I can turn into 7 star now.
Grudgingly did a second pull after some thought and the fact it's just a game. Got Raijin's SSB pauldron and 2 more crap 3 star items. My second last stand after Snow's burst coat. Pauldron goes with Laguna's jacket and Balamb Uni for VIII D.
Still plan on 11 pull second banner but might be a few days late now. Hopefully I can round out a 5 star lineup for VIII. Need 2 more D items for casters and since it's 90 percent caster I stand a decent shot.

2 11 pulls netted me 3 Seifer sword SSBs (dupes), 1 Seifer glove ssb, Fujin SSB and Unique.
I have 40 mythril left and not finished with the VIII event dungeons yet so will pull again when I can.
