Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

Eh. Sundered was something that I just decided to pass on backing anyway so guess skipping that.
Not going to trust procedural generated in a metroidvania sight unseen.

Does anyone want to vouch for either The Swindle or Dear Esther? Reviews seem kind of middling.

The Swindle is one of my top games of last year, really excellent design that pushes you to be greedy but smart. Feels so good when you manage a big score, genuinely devastating when you die within sight of the exit. The Vita version had some performance issues in later issues with a lot going on, not sure if that's been fixed yet or not.

Mark Brown did a Gamemaker's Toolkit video which I love and always plug when the game comes up for discussion:

Was thinking of that video too. Only place I had ever heard of the game, until the LRG info. Video makes the game seem cool.

Whatever happened to that tease Image & Form games did for Steamworld Vita collection? It seems ages ago the other versions released.

Unless it wasn't a tease for a LRG release, but I find that hard to believe.

Sundered Collector's Edition FAQ:

The reaction to our surprise announcement yesterday regarding the Sundered Collector's Edition has been overwhelmingly positive, but the announcement left a few unanswered questions that we'll address here:

The CA$ 100 'Eschaton Elder' tier still says "PC-only" - what gives?
Sorry, Kickstarter locks the reward descriptions once the campaign is live, so we can't change the text. But this is a firm promise: the Kickstarter-exclusive Sundered Collector's Box will include physical versions for both PS4 and PC!

When will the Collector's Box be available? Will it contain the promised DLC?
We can't give a firm date for production of the physical version at this time, but the general feeling around here is that the Kickstarter-exclusive collector's box should be the "Definitive Edition" of Sundered, and therefore should include future DLC in the box. This will necessarily make the Collector's Box release date later rather than sooner (because it must wait until after the DLC release), so we'd like you to express your thoughts about this in the comments, please!

Will there be a regular physical edition of Sundered?
Not in the Kickstarter campaign, no. But Limited Run Games has announced that a regular physical edition will be produced further down the line! It'll likely look something like this: (see below)

Wait, will the Collector's Box just contain that regular box inside?
No, the Collector's Box will have a unique, Kickstarter-exclusive outer box and a unique Kickstarter-exclusive art on the blu-ray case inside too!

Why did you guys wait until 2 days before the end of the campaign to announce this? I can't commit to a 100$ purchase on such short notice!
Yeah, sorry about that guys - we'd been working on it all this time, and contracts were signed a few hours before we posted the news. But here's the good news: We've added the Collector's Box tier to our Humble Store page, and the Humble page will be open for an extra week! Our Kickstarter campaign closes at 6pm EST tomorrow, but we'll be keeping the Humble Store page open for a week longer, until 6pm EST on February 23rd! To confirm, the $99.99 purchase on the Humble Store page gets you the exact same rewards as the 100$ Eschaton Elder tier on our Kickstarter.

Another incoming LRG release?

You say there are not enough Vita games, well go fund this!

(Shizuka will be pleased to see it's a Vita game.)

If it gets funded and actually released on Vita we would be interested. We are not going to sign anything that isn't for sure coming out, though.

Douglas did play it at PAX South on PC and enjoyed it.

That retweet is purely in interest in seeing it funded and made for Vita.

"You say there aren't enough Vita games, so go fund this massive red flag that's likely more than a year away at the earliest and has shown exactly 0 Vita footage that's locked away behind an unidentified stretch goal and also we're not committing to the game in any way at this point".

I mean, no offence, but lol, what the hell is going on in that tweet? o_O.

I'd really like to see a lot of these indie Kickstarter games start aiming for Switch ports instead of Vita.

And LRG hasn't updated us on their progress with Nintendo, have they?

I agree. Going forward, Switch seems like the closest thing to a successor. But I mostly just wanna see Switch games because I'm a Nintendo fan. :3

So in regards to the Sundered release, is the collector's version only through the KS page and the LRG version will be a physical 'standard' version on their site at a later date?

And will the LRG version contain all the future DLC, as well?

It would most like have to have all DLC. I can't imagine LRG doing two print runs.

Well, that's assuming LRG gives us the definitive version. I would like to think they would wait until all the DLC is out, to give us the definitive version, but that's up to LRG to say.

According to a Twitter user, The Swapper is PSTV compatible if you refresh the livescreen area.

This is news to me? Haven't gotten my copy yet. I should test whether this works with Stealth Inc.

Slim to none? I don't even know if you can get UMDs replicated by Sony anymore at this point.

The last Western PSP production line closed down early last year. There might still be (an) operating Japanese PSP production line(s), but if there are/is I don't think it's going to be easy to get on the schedule as a Western publisher.

hey, does someone know, how high are chances to ask LRG to make trails in the sky SC and 3rd a physical release for vita/psp?

UMD support is confirmed dead and it would require some effort to make a Vita version of the game (Sony requires trophies now, which the PSP versions never had). As it's been said by Xseed since SC was confirmed to not have a physical release, it's time to let it go.

When's Class of Heroes 3?

Got my Oddworld playing card code. (Double pack since I bought the bundle).

Codes expire April 14th and you do pay for shipping so they recommend ordering when you're getting another game.
So I'll be using it tomorrow.

Which PSP games did they reprint? I never heard about that.

They reprinted, for PSP:

Class of Heroes
Crimson Gem Saga
Growlanser
Hexzy Force
Riviera
the 3 Persona Games

Also, for DS, they re-released:

Dragon Quest Monsters Rocket Slime
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker
Front Mission
GTA Chinatown Wars
Infinite Space
Trauma Center 1 & 2
Valkryie Profile
Disgaea
Rhapsody

All of these games were available from their website around May or so last year, shortly after the last US PSP production line had shut down.

How can they release it with UMD production closed? It might still come digitally though...

Was it confirmed that PSP production closed in Japan as well? Because Victor Ireland's plan last year was to try and get the game printed in Japan.

As for a digital only release, I can imagine it being much harder to create somewhat of a buzz around it. So in that case you'd just have to look for the right moment to put it out, I guess?

Follow-up - he posted a video of it working:

Interesting. I wonder if any of Curve's other releases will do this (The Swindle?). It doesn't work for Stealth Inc unfortunately.

Sorry for the double post, but I just got my voucher for the Oddworld cards. Can LRG confirm that the item will be marked down for customs purposes and not show as a $50 item? I don't want to have to pay £22 for my parcel once it comes.

Bleh, my copy of Oxenfree arrived damaged today. It shipped in this little black packet that seemed too tight and broke, and as a result the game got damaged too. Have to go to all the trouble of getting this shipped back now.
