For Honor |OT| And shame are huge parts of it

Is it just me or is the warlord total shit?

I think he's one of the most underrated characters in the game. I've ended up maining him when I was planning to only try him out as a secondary.

For a tank he hits fast, especially his overhead heavy attack. His zone attack is quick too, I catch people by surprise with that all the time. He blocks fast and can do heavy damage when in close. That's his only real weakness, his limited range. But he has the ability to close gaps pretty quickly.

It seems like patience pays off big time with him though which is usually rough for me. But when you can work your way in tight you can eat opponents alive. I like him a lot and not a lot of people use him so it's easier to catch people off guard with some of his moves.

The weight and the animation of these characters really sell the game. I know Ubi excels in animation, but damn.

I feel like I'm a character straight out of a Souls game.

The wire on my headphones is a little short, and if I spin or reach too far and the headphones come out of the jack, the game hard freezes immediately. Never seen that in a game before ever.

I main Warlord too. If I can hit parries and counters consistently I feel he's a monster. As soon as I start missing my counters I end up eating heaps of damage. To play a character like this you have to know how to anticipate and tech guard breaks because his limited range means you're always operating in guard break range pretty much. I don't think he has to be played passive, though. You can build some unrelenting offense with headbutts, especially if you can box someone in. Then there's the magic full block which shouldn't be abused but when peppered in can net you alot of free damage.

Of course his throw is also super good, and I abuse the crap out of his super armor on heavy attacks. I don't really ring people out that often because it's just frankly boring at this point.

I kinda wish ringouts required either critical health or exhaustion. Most duels with good players I have now we just run to the part of the stage with the least chance for a ringout because having a round come down to a single guardbreak is super silly.

What's a good character for someone who's got bad reflexes and doesn't like fighting games? Maybe a more defensive one -- or someone who can just do awesome looking attacks, might as well die in a blaze of glory.

Warlord. Chains are RB, RT or RT, RB. Overhead slash is super powerful and can send you flying through the air. Activating omni-block while getting wailed on by 4 people until you hit revenge makes you feel like Godzilla.

Just made a major comeback with my team where both sides were breaking. Opposing team kept rezzing and we were down one. Got the killing blow on one, which caused the other 3 to swarm on me. My two teammates came. held them off, and gave me space to roll out of danger and chuck a grenade that killed the remaining 3 and sealed the deal. \o/

Shugoki is pretty forgiving in that respect. His toolkit is relatively small, with pretty easy execution. He's big and slow, so it's more about when and how to use your fundamentals.

For Honor is essentially a fighting game though... So maybe you do like fighting games!

I started the campaign co-op with a friend today and I have this weird thing where all the volume works fine except for the dialogue, which either doesn't appear or sounds like it's far away (like listening to voices in a dream sequence in a movie or something).

Anyone had this happen/know any fixes? I didn't even realize until like 3 missions in that the game had dialogue, I thought it was just really awkward cutscenes lol

Happened on ps4. Had to reboot game.

21, not 20. Make sure it says reputation 1 first. Then open enough to get to gear score 42. After that, hold on until rep 3
Thanks.

This game has some of the best lighting I've seen yet. The combination of HBAO + SSAO is working wonders in representing proper shadowing from indirect lights. They have it everywhere in the game.

Combat is furious!

The game is gorgeous in almost every aspect. I love the character and armor designs, the sounds and attack animations are weighty and visceral. The crunch of the Conqueror neck break execution makes me wince every time. The environments are great too.

Oh man, the salt in this game is just delicious. Had a warden get mad after after I was winning 2-1 and then I threw him off a bridge. Needless to say, he was not pleased. Accused me of being a kid, and threw out that he was 19 for some reason.

Best part was that he tried to go for the rematch, but I left.

Why don't you learn how to fight like a man? /s

Fuck this game is good. Finished the story on hard today and have been getting deeper in to multiplayer. It's just so satisfying. They just need to get this network connection bullshit figured out.

Would love to see some game of thrones DLC. Games great BTW, really loving how intense the battles can get.

I was thinking the same. FH: GOT Edition with all the factions being the main houses; Targaryan, Starks, Lannisters and Baratheons.

I have yet to start story. How hard is hard anyways?.. Level 3 bots?

What is the purpose of the execution penalty on respawns? Seems pretty nonsensical considering the likelihood of dying via 1v2/3 situations.

I've gotten my Valkyrie mix up and knock down combos down enough that I made a Lawbringer turn and run any time he was matched with me in an Elimination match. That felt pretty good.

It's a pretty big deal in Brawl and Elimination, as they can be revived later in the match if you don't finish them off. It can turn the tide of match.

1v1 and 2v2 are ton of fun but all the 4v4 modes are a total mess. Not because the game modes themselves are bad, I enjoy them, but the connection issues are unacceptable. Every now and then I'll have a good game but most of the time it lags like crazy or constantly stops to synchronize. Is it possible to have p2p for the 1v1 and 2v2 modes but have dedicated servers for 4v4? Did any game in the past have both types of networking systems in one?

Has someone set up a PS4 community yet?

A simple thread search should get you the answer.

I made a ps4 community. My PSN is toadshadow64

Message me here or on PSN if you want an invite.

This games fucking servers man, they really make my blood boil how it all can go to shit so fast for no apparent reason. Was playing great, with no issues. Now I'm getting network errors everywhere

So the bots in this game are fucking SAVAGE!

They're harder to beat than at least 80% of the humans I play against.

Also, am I the only one still making Kensei? I love that guy right now, he's a really well balanced mix.

I suppose this is on PC and you can't write shit on PS4? Would be great if you could write with bluetooth keyboard. I'd enjoy that salt. Can't use headset at night because the kids.

I'm still at him, trying to get my feint mixups down. His predictability means you have to mind game the opponent to death with lots of variety and half approaches. It's really some thing else to see a good kensei dance around with feinted heavy attacks.

They are officially being slept on. Truetalent spent a whole stream complaining about them while only attacking after using a guard break. Never used dash attacks, especially the quick light attack, and just died the whole day. Was gonna main nobushi but everyone likes her, so I can't wait to get really good with the kensei.

I love this game so much but the cracks in combat design are certainly starting to appear. There's seemingly no way to punish players who backstep out of your frame advantage. At least not with Conqueror. Saying that, I really don't want them to start going gung-ho with balance changes. I'd rather they just let things stew for a bit and see how it pans out.

Oh, and I'd suggest people not visit the official forum. It's horrific.

I really doubt they could implement multiple network models in the same game. It would be prohibitively expensive.

Personally, I think the developers wanted to make a regular fighting game but knew it wouldn't be successful enough without big shooter type modes. 1v1 has to be P2P for latency reasons.

Deathmatches work fine but theres almost always this weird lag in Dominion, like the game is playing at low fps. Its not just me either, my friends felt the same. IDK if its the A.I minions or what, I wish Ubi would fix it.

Dominion feels like a real war, reminds me of the Battle of bastards but the lag/low fps is a headache.

Run and guard break? They can't counter a guard break if they dash. I'm starting to untarget a lot in combat and just run at my opponent when they start to backup.

Ya, I posted a bit but it's like being one of the few sane voices in a sea of idiots.

Okay, keeping dodge on X and leaving guardbreak on L1 has got me back in my game (PS4)

Have they changed the guardbreak timing already? I hope so as I finally got it down to press it as soon as I see the icon and having a finger permanently on a button helps.

Random nitpick time: I wish I never noticed that the Samurai armor is made from WOOD, now I can never unsee it and it bothers the living shit out of me.

Why would they wear wooden armor?!? they have the technology to forge Katanas, Nodachi and Naginata but they choose to run out there with wooden armor? What a bizzare, bizzare art design decision by Ubisoft. Even weirder, is that Orochi appears to have a metal helmet? What they just prefer the comfortable protection of wood over metal?

Yeah, yeah I know, not based on any type of historical reality, of course, but it really boggles my mind, it just doesn't make any damn sense. It would be just as ridiculous if a viking showed up to battle in padded leather armor...yet is armed with a musket. Weird overlap of ancient technology integrated with more modern tech.

Samurai were more about mobility than armor. The wood helped a bit against arrows etc. which were common in the time period. Metal was rare and would slow them down too much.

Are you sure that's not Scale armor?

Are you sure that's not Scale armor?

If you look closely on every single Samurai faction character in the game, you can see a wood grain pattern and texture applied to the surface of all armor. It's ALL wood. At first I was like, oh maybe this is just an odachi thing, but nope, each character is walking out there in wooden armor.

Hard to tell on his chest, check his shoulder pad.

Here's odachi: http://ubistatic19-a.akamaihd.net/r...h-game/fh_hero-detail-orochi-armor-1_ncsa.jpg

This is very much wrong. True that Samurai were more about mobility, false that it was common in the time period. There is historical evidence of japanese wooden armor but we're talking about year 100-200 AD, long long before Samurai.
