For Honor |OT| And shame are huge parts of it

Have they confirmed there's gonna be a new faction? Cause I would think that each existing faction is just gonna get 2 new heroes.
Maybe we get Romans, Spartans and Persians in For Honor 2.

Haha wow joined a random elimination game as a berserk where the last one on my team just died and I was alone vs 4 of them. 3 with < 50% health. Ended up killing all of them somehow xD.

Any ideas when the contracts update? (not the dailies :p)
ive got class specific ones left but I just want to stick to kensei

Also, can you only keep 7 of a certain type of armour? Like 7 helms, 7 chest pieces. Or does it just scroll down? Wondering if I should be deleting loot.

It scrolls down but you only have 60 slots in your inventory per class.

Has anyone bought the other Valkyrie emotes and can tell me if they have some sound?
The default one is so disappointing and is completely silent and even has this stutter halfway through. Seems a bit unfinished.
Skyward Spear looks fun in the preview but unfortunately doesn't show with actual ingame audio.

Pretty sure you can turn off the chat

I think I should do that tbh, it's interfering on how well I play. I'm legit afraid to use enviroment as my advantage since I rather not get flamed for it. And I never know who is okay with stuff like that and do it themselves. So I usually just avoid dropping people from ledges or pushing them in fire. But I also use the chat to communicate with friends in my group, should check if there's an option to just disable the all chat.

This game has a serious problem with rage quitters (like most online games). I try to play 1v1 and most players leave after the first or second loss, leaving you with a bot opponent.

I said fuck it and tried to play dominion, each game there are so many people leaving that the game stops consantly because of the p2p connection and eventually the match abruptly ends.

You're never gonna get better at this game if your solution is to just leave mid game in hopes of finding easier opponents. Just today I fought against a player who was vastly better than me, I lost to him 5 times in a row in 1v1 but each time I lost I learned something new about how he fights and what I should do to counter that and eventually I managed to beat him. That's how you improve, fight against people better than you, learn how to deal against different classes.

The guy in the front left. He's wielding a gladius and there is of course also a Ninja with two Kamas. There's been a lot of discussion on it and it looks a lot like a Roman Legionaire. Some people think that they will be sub factions to the Knights and the Samurai.

You can also see it being modeled in the season pass Ubisoft video.

5th game today where team mates only camp the soldier spawn even after both teams are breaking. Holy fuck this community is stupid.

When I killed the boss of the knight campaign, his body just diapoeared with no cutscene. He was just suddenly beamed up to his Space Viking Ship! For some reason this game has no 'Return to last Checkpoint' option so I had to replay the whole thing.

No problem with the boss at all. Almost beaten with no damage taken, but that random guy with the axe right before you breach the door took me about 20 min each time :(

It's pretty rough trying to win games in Dominion, so many people just don't have a clue how to score points and to be fair it's pretty confusing. I feel I was able to carry a lot easier in beta than I have been since release. I think I'm facing more pre-made groups, that may have something to do with it.

I think it's the "kill x amount of soldiers in dominion" orders that's causing this. Haven't seen it happen before. Still incredibly dumb and selfish to ruin games for others like that.

That's just for the vs AI mode though, unless everyone has different orders?

I fought a guy who was better than me, I fought him for several hours and completely trashed my k/d ratio.

The tunnel vision is sooooooooo real.
Stay and defend your point? Backcap the enemy point? Kill a few minions to help the mid-point surge? Fuck that, theirs people to kill!

Fantastic! Completely missed that, thanks for the post.

With 6 DLC characters this season, each faction will have a total of 6 classes. It almost seems guaranteed that the next season's 6 classes will be for a new faction. I really hope it's Native American or Mayan.

The knights are the descendents of the Holy Roman Empire. Romans are already represented, and based on that picture, it looks like a more direct representation of their lineage will be incoming. The image still clearly shows the same three faction banners.

Looking more at that image, I think it's less revealing than it may seem.

I think the 4 background characters are placeholders. There are two wearing Knight helmets, a samurai, and a barbaric looking Raider, meaning the legionnaire character would likely be Viking affiliation by process of elimination. That's definitely not going to be the case.

Samurai aren't a faction, they're just servants; that's literally what the name implies. A ninja isn't a subfaction, just a new addition.

More players on PC or PS4?
PS4 so far.

I defend a lot in dominion. I think it's kinda shitty you don't earn points for defending an area though.

Doesn't it depend on your class? Warden racks up points on defense. I mostly defend the first point as Warden, pretty much all game. It's a lot of fun.

Yeah those four in the back are placeholders since they are classes we already have; Conquerer, Orochi, Warden and Raider from left to right.

But it does seem like a roman legionnaire in the front. And if that's the case I have a new main.

could never
that's why i don't play dominion, unless there are orders to complete there
I was playing Dominion earlier with a bud, I was legit getting 1v3's. They would come straight to me lol.

My blood preassure went up, back to 2v2's much better.

I have been having a fantastic time playing strictly Player vs AI. I am so glad the added that as an option, I don't dig competitive multiplayer much anymore. Co-op has a great vibe, chat has been friendly, and I am getting ME3 co-op vibes from the whole thing. Guess it helps that I am only just killed enough that bots are still challenging ;-)

So the honeymoon period has worn off and I am now seeing the flaws of the current game design from my experiences with more experienced players.

Defense right now is WAY out of whack relative to offense. Between parries, dodges, deflects, regular blocking, guard break interrupts, and even revenge mode, there are simply too many effective ways to defend and not enough ways to open up an opponent. There's a whole thread on the official forums dedicated to pointing out this exact problem.

Frankly, I think every defensive option should see some kind of nerf. Sitting around waiting for an opportunity to parry or deflect an attack should not be something that's encouraged. It should not be possible for someone to turtle so well that they are 100% invulnerable to everything you can throw at them. The game's already becoming quite stale at higher level play just because of how much you have to try to force the opponent to do something that you can work on, and even then, if the opponent just doesn't take the bait, there is literally nothing you can do to make them vulnerable.

Game clearly needs work on a basic and fundamental level. I hope Ubisoft is willing to put in the work to fix these issues well before they introduce a ranked mode or whatever. I've enjoyed the time I put in, but if all I have to look forward to is more and more turtling, my logged time is just going to keep on shrinking.

For sure.

It's also what makes the more agile characters overpowered, since at higher levels of play the moves on the slower characters are too easy to evade. If you're to have any chance of actually hitting someone it's going to be with characters whose strikes provide less time to evade. Most of the cast have no decent option to open anyone up.

Making matters worse, any debuff they add to blocking is a net buff for characters with good evasion. Orochi and Peacekeeper, who are far less reliant on blocking to begin with (happily evading and counter attacking many approaches) will view this as a net buff, as they harash their opponents block.

The suggestions made in the thread you link (chip damage on block, stamina drain on block) would cripple slower characters and allow PK, Orochi, Bezerker, Kensei, Nobushi etc. to tear them to pieces.

I think reducing the efficacy of guard and especially parry, would be a good option though. With perhaps some character specific exceptions, you shouldn't receive free damage merely for a successful defense. Parrying should reward spacing and an bigger opportunity to take 'your turn' and go on the offensive, but it shouldn't allow you to deal damage on your opponent for free.

In either case it's going to be a problem that's hard to fix without messing up the game and the evasion heavy characters.

I was playing against a good PK last night and neither of us wanted to attack, because we both knew that attacking meant the opponent would parry or evade for a counter strike. If I didn't play aggresively we would have both just sat there until the timer ran out, of course I lost for playing aggressively, in the end. The defensive advantage is too strong but it's a mistake to think it's exclusively restricted to guarding, a simple sidestep gets a guaranteed punish on the vast majority of attacks in the game. Why attack when you can wait for your opponent to open themselves up, with their own attack.
