big team fight was about to go down, CONBOX calls for a technical pause cause headset is apparently broke. When the unpause happens they instantly nanovisor and go for the wipe. Shit was mad unfair.

I had no idea you could just call for a pause like that

Real talk, fuck Luffy and fuck anybody else on Panthera that encourages his online behavior. Dude bullied Haksal, who is like 16 or 17 or something, while Haksal streamed until he started crying. He's more than just some bad boy, he's actually somebody not worth respecting.

Mmmm, that bastion.

You really lose a lot without headshots in sentry form though. Maybe the extra tankiness helps out.

Even if he is 18, he's still messing around with somebody younger than him who is clearly sensitive. I'm always gonna root for him to lose as a result, even if he is on a good team.

Yo, 4 games in the past 2 days alone, there have been Zaryas that our entire team is begging her to use her ult, we're right behind her, tracer has pulse bomb, pharah has barrage, Reinhardt's ready to swing, but they ignore us and hold it in and only use it when they die.

Why is this a recurring trend? Why do Zaryas hold in their ults when everyone is ready to follow up and only shoot it as a panic button?
Can't speak for those Zaryas, obviously, and there are plenty of bad ones out there, but sometimes I hold grav because it's just not a good spot. If I think Zen has trance and we don't have Ana, I want him dead first. If I think Mercy has rez, I want her in range. If D.Va is there, I want to see her drop matrix. If their lineup has a lot of options for escaping grav, I want to see a couple of them on cooldown before I hit Q. Sometimes they're just spread out awkwardly.

There are lots of things to keep in mind.

manOFsnow is building a team. So there's your chance of going pro and make gaf proud I guess.

teamOFsnow announcement

I'm happy to announce teamOFsnow, my personal project to recruit six amateur players who are dedicated to developing themselves as competitive overwatch players under my coaching. Over the next three weeks I will have applications open (link at the bottom of the post). At the end of those three weeks I will host tryouts.

After the roster has been announced the team will be expected to practice for four hours each night from 8:00PM EST to 12:00AM EST. Practice will be composed of scrims, VOD review, map review and more depending on the current lesson plan.

I will be coaching the team for 2-3 months with the ultimate goal to develop the roster to the point where they can be signed to a semi-pro org.

If after reading this you are interested, please apply! Even if you don't think you would make the team, applying allows me to know how many people are interested. Thank you, and best of luck.

The Soldier chase/duel was pretty damn good, but it's kinda sad seeing chat go nuts for aggressive Sombra gameplay. Most decent Sombras do the kinds of things he was doing, they just don't necessarily have as good tracking aim.

I don't see why that's sad then because why would chat go nuts at sombras who can't track?

I played a match this morning and my card at the end just said "MVP" and "75% of the match on fire". I don't think I've ever seen this before.

Is it new, or do I just suck?

He said go nuts for aggressive plays. He means this is just how Sombra is played well in the first place and it's sad that twitch chat is going crazy for a common playstyle because of their lack of Sombra experience or people just thinking Sombra is a poor character.

I think it's a little bias though because any characters played well would have twitch chat going crazy.

It's sad because for those of us who play a lot of Sombra, we're used to having people tilt just because we picked her. But what I'm learning from watching chat reactions to "OMG SOMBRA" plays that are remarkable only for good tracking is that most people don't even know how she's used or what her capabilities are.

Seeing chat spam "SOMBRA OP" because Rascal used transloc as an aggressive engage tool or because he broke sight and cloaked to double-back in a clever way is kinda dispiriting. His tracking was great, but a lot of the other aggressive Sombra play in that part of the game is fairly normal for experienced Sombras. Meanwhile, people in comp continue to judge Sombra's effectiveness only by their own failure to use her effectively.

I'm hoping the meta changes will be enough to tip people's opinions just enough in S4 that she won't be seen as a throw pick. But without some QoL buffs or ways to make her utility more transparent to a team, I bet it's still going to be smarter to pick Soldier or Tracer 95% of the time!

Well after going on a losing streak suddenly went on a winning streak and got enough points for a golden weapon. I think I'm done with the season, 3044 is fine with me. I was pretty much stuck in mid to low diamond all season anyway.

There are lots of things to keep in mind.

Yeah I feel you. There are a lot situations where a Zarya can't really ult. I was just frustrated earlier cause the 4 times they happened to me last night it was pretty much a "We're about to hit overtime, move it now or lose" kinda thing.

There are definitely times when I saved an ult for a "better moment" that never came, and it's especially bad with Zarya because her ult straight-up decides fights.

After a huge break, which included skipping season 2, I started playing Overwatch again. I read that Season 3 takes into account the rank from season 2 (which I don't have) and season 1 (placed really low and stopped playing). I was placed at silver immediately when I went into my first match (200 points). I find it hilarious honestly; it is a good thing that I don't have long term plans to play the game.

Season 3 ends this afternoon lol.

But I'm not sure what you expected if you placed low season one and skipped season 2.

I spent season 1 at high gold, season 2 at low platinum and season 3 at high platinum. I just didn't grind out enough games for Diamond this season and kept trying to flex pick when I should've just stuck with S76 or Rein / Zarya, which I'm good at.

Yeah I was actually curious about where I will get ranked. I had to finish placement this season just in case too. I don't know how I completely missed season 2 (because of my backlog obviously).

Part of me wishes it would do a fresh recalibration each season but they're clearly keeping data from the previous ones to use as a "base" for the next season's ranking.

Which bothers me as the first couple of seasons had weird SR gain issues depending on what role you played.

Ending the season at 2271...pretty happy with that considering I spent the majority of the season floating around the 17-1800's.

Multiple frustrating Hanamura attacks with teams that just refused to enter the front gate even when the other team was down to one or two left.

Wavering between the idea of doing a strictly solo Season 4 or trying to gather a small group.

I placed super late in S3, solo, landed close to Diamond, and then solo Q'd the next 2 games to hit it. I didn't do much after that.

What are other PS4 bros and bro-ettes doing for S4?

I only played my placements and got into gold with 2289. Went 8-2. Not bad considering I've only been playing random heroes and events for the last three months lol

A good Sombra is so annoying. Played against one on Dorado last night that had a Pharah and a Widowmaker on their team. As Rein half the time my shield was down and I was useless...

...Except for the fact that Pharah didn't stay in the air and Sombra got too greedy and I would kill them often. Once you know where Sombra likes to relocate to you can keep an eye on her.

But yeah, if you don't have someone keeping an eye on Sombra a smart player will make life hell for you.

I'm honestly excited to try out the new Bastion. He seems like he'll be a more solo focused S76, meaning you trade off some utility for more damage.

Sorry if it's been talked about already, but is there going to be an update today including the private server matches and Bastion buff?

Last season, peaked at high gold but totally tanked my rating at the end of the season.. still wish i stopped playing then.

Won most of my placement matches this season, was placed in bronze at 1200 something. It was fucking grueling getting out of bronze and into silver. Went up and down so many times, floating between 1200-1600ish. Like 80 hours later and I still cant climb out of silver. I _know_ I would place higher if I made a new account, but I'm not going to do that. Pretty sick of losing 30 SR for a loss and gaining less than 20 for a win. Guess thats what I get for solo queuing. Still, I like competitive way more than quick play and I'm going to miss not having it for a week

Comp will still be there, just no point gain/loss.

Decided to do two comp matches during my lunch break before the season ended. First match was awful, had a Pharmercy combo that was destroying us. I was 76 but kept getting killed so I switched to someone else to allow somebody better to play as them to combat the Pharah. Instead nobody switched and then the team of three that was all tanks and wouldn't switch came on to bitch and tell the rest of us we should be playing Soldier. Ah well.

Second game went better - stalled them on Eichenwalde defense and then was able to push it fairly easily to the point they got it to, although there was a Tracer made of nightmares that nearly single-handedly won it for the other team.

Finished the season at 2651 with a season high of 2684. Hopefully that's good enough for a Platinum season 4 start, since I started at 2100 this season.

I just want to do my placements with GAFers for season 4. I always miss the boat and end up having to solo queue placements. Just once I's like to try placement matches with a group.

Question regarding Mercy's ult.

It's generally not a good idea to do full team resurrections is it? I find whenever I do that my team just gets wiped again because they were out of position when they died.

Rather it's better to rez in a fight where both sides are taking losses, and by rezing your tank+2 others you easily win it?

She doesn't give off much a playable hero vibe to me.
