AJ disproves all of this, I mean could you imagine if Vince told Steve Austin you need to spend time in our training promotion before you can make it to the main roster?

AJ Styles was thriving in Japan just before arriving in WWE while Samoa Joe was clearly not giving a fuck before jumping to NXT. Slight difference.

in 2017, if Vince told Stone Cold to go to NXT, Stone Cold would have no choice but to shut the fuck up and go to NXT

You can't really stand up to your boss when you don't have the WCW card in your pocket

yay monopoly

"My name is Steve Austin and I am a Stone Cold stud and a Texas Rattlesnake and you can't teach that"

Vince: Steve I need you to go down to NXT.

Austin:I don't know vince, IV been wrestling in that 20 x2 0 squared circle for damn near a decade

Vince: yes but you haven't been wrestling WWE style. You need to wash that southern rasslin off of you.

Steve: you trash

I always have a WCW card in my pocket. Usually this one:

When am I ever wrong?

I can't recall a time. That's why people call you the Browny of WrassleGAF.

Raw Viewership for 2/20:

8pm: 3.259
9pm: 3.261
10pm: 3.127

Avg: 3.215

Only lost 134,000 people in the third hour. So congrats the women, Owens and Hoss on Hoss action to keep the crowd.

i'm pretty sure if you tell Vince to fuck off or you're going to TNA or ROH, he calls the taxi for you and laughs uncontrollably while waiting for it

After that 30 for 30 episode I legitimately think Vince will try the XFL again. When Ebersol asked him if he ever thought about trying again Vince had a shockingly immediate "yes I have" answer.

They are going to take down the NFL and the Avengers in one swoop.

You're trying to say I'm 47 years old like most people here? Because no, I'm not

there's a wave of post-hipsterism against Uber...

in that specific case, the service is just TOO good compared to taxis so my ideology goes flying out the door

The problem is that this argument requires a pre-supposition that lots of wrestlers don't actually deserve it, but are given the chant anyways.

They're expressing appreciation for a performer being given a cool moment, nothing more. They're not doing it to be intrusive of the show or to play along with kayfabe or to suggest everyone who gets it is the "best," its to give a moment of appreciation to the people who take a billion bumps for entertainment purposes. Naomi isn't the best wrestler and neither is Bray Wyatt. But they've also been around basically forever without being put over in any real way, so people appreciate what they've done, its that simple.

Giving admiration for someone accomplishing something is fine and can be down with applause or cheers. When you are chanting "You still got it" or "You deserve it" at every drop of the hat it really begins to water down the whole "showing appreciation". I wouldn't be surprised if their rant was more about chanting in general and how often it's miss placed or over used.

However, i try to remember in the context of not being a watcher of wrestling for so long. I'm sure there are people in the arena's who genuinely enjoy the chant and feel connections to the belts the way a lot of us did when we were younger.

I thought all the cabs in the UK had secret porn cams in the back?

That's just the Fake Taxis.

I've never seen an actual performer look mad that they got that chant. The idea that we should take it away from those performers because its ruining Dave Meltzer's sense of kayfabe is dumb.

So apparently Io Shirai asked Minoru Suzuki for a match next month at her 10th anniversary show. Not sure how I feel about it...
