That was awkward alright

when the game is opened (5.27) and you see the tiny game inside the 'giant' box. What a waste of packaging!

It'd be really awkward to put on your/store shelves if the packaging was as small as the game itself....

Yeah!!!!! Why don't they put a 1*2cm box !!!! SO COOL for retailers and getting some COOL artwork on the front of your packaging that get your game noticed !!! Why did they do the SAME as DS, 3DS, Vita which had small cartridges too ? I can't think of an answer ! Such waste!

Take a deep breath and count to ten buddy

I swear, if they'd have used regular tiny SD-style packaging, everyone would be furious about no artwork, no pretty box backs, no lining up for collectors, no room for manuals or goodies..

Are you working for gamekult by any chance? Every time someone says something remotely bad about them, you're here. It's kinda weird, honestly, and I'd rather like to know if you're involved somehow than to take it on face value.

If you're just a fan that's fine, but it's kinda striking at this point if even I remember.

I think he's just a big fan. Appears to be a premium member, so he obviously just likes the site a good deal.

Don't care to much about unboxing vids, because we already have that.
Prefer other details & info about the switch itself. Can't wait on ign preview over a hour

So, some guy who happens to write reviews for gamekult every now and then made a stupid comment on twitter about not liking Skyward Sword. Why do you care if he's not even the guy in charge of the review? A guy being silly on the internet isn't exactly news

Wait, he didn't like Skyward? Then why did he say -2011 and not 2010 or whatever?

You got something on your chin there buddy.

Yeah that's the thing, I'm looking forward to the game because it's Zelda but watching footage I find that the moment to moment gameplay looks very bland and repetitive, refering to outdoor activities like collecting random loot, managing inventory, cooking food, raiding generic bokoblin camp #345, etc. This Zelda is specifically built around evoking the sense of adventure and it comes at the expense of tight level design and interesting gameplay scenarios, whereas past Zelda games focused on getting those things right first and then shoehorned story and adventure elements to varying degrees of success. In other words this Zelda has seen a shift of priorities, and it's the same deal with Mario Odyssey for me, but hey at least they were kind enough to include 100+ puzzle shrines and those do look stunning. Sandbox gameplay just isn't my style I guess.

You know that open worlds are also "designed", right? It's not just geometry dumped randomly in an empty space.

I see no reason we can't have interesting gameplay scenarios in a sandbox.

But it didn't need to be that big though.

I personally "hated" it because it wouldn't let me play in peace. After a while of enduring that shit I usually don't want to boot the game anymore nor explore anything and I don't finish it. It's a shmae I enjoyed the rest, even motion controls

Same with TP constantly rewarding your any move or fart with chests (+ animation/text) full of useless rupees you can't spend nor stock. After a while I didn't bother exploring or playing anymore (although I have finished that one)

I'm personally a bit wary of a company/team that had no problem with these decisions and propose me to play a game ten times larger.
Well if you enjoyed the rest that doesn't really seem a good enough reason to give up on it and "hate it". I understand that it can be annoying, but i don't agree with you priorities there. Even in TP, which is mostly focused on the main quest, it shouldn't be that big of a problem. Every game has its issues, and these don't really sound like big ones.

About Breath of the Wild, we've already seen that it's more rewarding than both those games. Even the weapon degradation helps with this, because (for example) clearing a camp or a doing a certain thing and getting a good weapon to use in more engaging encounters is far better than getting rupees. May be even crucial to the experience, to a certain extent at least.

Wait, he didn't like Skyward? Then why did he say -2011 and not 2010 or whatever?

Because Skyward Sword came out in 2011, "marking" the "death" of the franchise according to him. Yep, just as stupid as it sounds.

Anyway, in that video unboxing video you can clearly see that the logo does the "click" sound before the boot up music starts, this is something that was missing from the other leaked footage and some people thought it wasn't there. It even happens when you connect the JoyCon with the console turned on.

BotW dreams have started. Last night I had one where the game was essentially AR/VR and I was arriving in ruined hyrule through some sheikah powered future tech vessel. Westworld esque. Spent a while deciding in which direction I wanted to embark. Too long, in fact, and witnessed it get more westworldish as a group of NPCs were brutally ambushed on the outskirts of this town. very gory

have a long 8 days ahead

To be honest, a Zelda themed Westworld sounds absolutely incredible.

Without all the murder of course

Do we know what the preview embargo includes for Zelda? We will be seeing videos tomorrow? Or can they only talk about it?

Looks like he didn't receive it as press, but rather through retail/other means.

Makes sense. The outlets who get a preview console get a whole package with amiibos, controllers and all, while he has only the console, Zelda and joy-con guards. Especially the joy-con guards are significant here: they were not included in Gamexplain's preview package, so that would mean he got them from elsewhere.

Gotcha, thanks. Yeah, as far as I understand it, that does not make sense to me either.

Also, Rodin, always glad to see you fighting the good fight for the underdog that is Skyward Sword. I don't know if you ever saw my LTTP but I was so happy that I have the game a second chance. http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=894926

I still need to find the time to give it that first chance. I was focused on other things at the end of the Wii era. I have the game. Just need to make time

It looks like the bigger publications get the amiibos? Switchforce on YouTube did a unboxing and all they got was a switch and Zelda.
