What is your Switch travel case solution (if any)?

Crappy zelda RDS one from Gamestop just to hold over till I read some case reviews

Actually it is the one above but with an eye.

I saw a YouTube video on the RDS one that got deleted; the case looked really nice. The Link image is actually embossed into the cover (engraved in texture), not a decal or printed image.

That sealed it for me to secure one. I like that it looks more minimalist than the shiek penis eye coming with my BoTW special edition.

God damn it... I have the RDS case preordered at ShopTo here in the UK and I just checked to see if it had dispatched, only to see it has had its release date pushed back to the end of March. Should I just grab the official one with the screen protector?

A lot of the cases over on Amazon.jp look to be a lot nicer. How easy is it to have stuff shipped to the US?

I think this is just a repurposed 3DS case, but I like the idea of the case being only long enough to hold the screen while the joycons go somewhere else:

You folks in the states have so much more choice! I've settled on the official case + screen protector. Maybe upgrade to a glass one if need be later on.

Gone with the hori tough case for now. Thinking I want something with a hard shell to protect the switch when it's in my bag. If that is too bulky/thick then I might try the official case.

Those Japanese ones look good too - hori slim pack is still a hard case?

Decided to cancel my PDP case and wait for all you guinea pigs to decide whats the best one :p
Ill just have to baby my Switch until then.

Ahahaha, I did this same thing just last night. :p

Edit:

This is so much nicer than the Hori case we got. Why couldn't we have gotten this one?

Once I have the Switch in hand on Friday I'll probably just pattern and construct my own. I bought the PDP Mario case to use as a pattern and in the interim.

Hell, if I pattern it and construct it well enough, maybe I'll make some for y'all :)

I decided to get the Hybrid Cover and use an Amazonbasics bag I had. It has two little pockets in the front, perfect for the joycons. Pretty cheap for both and they offer a lot of flexible protection.

Hybrid cover ($25)

AmazonBasics 11.6 inch laptop/table bag ($13.49)

It's rather painless and extremely similar to how you would place an order via your respective regional Amazon storefront. If you weren't already aware, there's a translation tool available on the top navigation bar which will translate most of the web page to English.

Anyhow, you'll be charged a relatively fair sum based on the total package weight and your shipping destination for international shipments. In addition, the product(s) must be directly sold via Amazon and not a third party seller.

I'm not too sure about other regions, but the United States has all international shipments handled by DHL Express which usually has delivery fulfilled within two to four business days.

Whoa. I got an email from Mr WaterField himself. I told him my concerns about the fit with the analog sticks and whether I would get the case in time for my trip. He assured me the field test went really well and that my case was in the first batch and might ship early. Now that's what I call service!

Nice to know someone respects me around here. :p

Apparently Wal-Mart is carrying the deluxe travel case, judging by a reddit post.

Glad I'll be able to check it out before purchase.

I have a Hori tough case for my Vita and it works really well. I'll be getting the same for my Switch.

I went with Hyperkin's case

Shitty thing is, and I got this too, the straps run up and down and not like that in the picture and there's a giant hyperkin logo on the front. I personally don't care but it is a bit of false advertising. Even the box thgat it comes in shows a picture of the straps lowered and angled like that, so clearly one hand wasn't talking to the other.

Only two reviews for the PDP on Amazon for it so far and they're not great. I'll be cancelling my order for the Mario edition.

Zipper treads that can scratch the Switch?

Ugh. I also have the Mario one ordered from Amazon, but I'm gonna cancel ASAP.

Did we have any feedback on the official case?

The only complaint I read so far is that it's not a hard case, but that doesn't bother me.

Someone here earlier argued that the kickstand in the official case is useless since the Switch has one built-in, but seeing how the Switch's kickstand is flimsy, unstable, and could become loose or stuck, I'd say the kickstand in the official case is a big bonus.

The one that comes with the screen protector? If so, I think it's alright. I ended up getting it because it was the slimmest case available at the time I purchased the Switch.

Case
- Not as padded as other cases
- Can store up to five games and has a pouch you can put the Joy-Con straps inside
- Slim design; it doesn't feel bulky
- You can use the insert where you store the games and straps as a stand for the Switch

Screen protector
- Application seemed tricky, but was simpler than I initially thought
- My purchase didn't come with a screen wiper to smooth the screen protector (even though the instructions showed the use of one)
- I ended up getting a few pieces of dust under, but they don't present a real problem
- The screen protector doesn't cover the console entirely (mine has three very thin strips of unprotected bezel; one on the top and another on the right side)

I posted these in the other thread. I'm really impressed with the Zelda carry case (£15).

Isn't this supposed to be the same as the other two PDP cases (the plain one and the Mario one)? The plain one has worrisome reviews on Amazon saying it's too tight and the zipper could scratch the Switch. Did you get your Switch yet to test the case?

I haven't tested it yet but I can't see how the zip will scratch it if it's in the pouch thingy. I'll try it out though.

Switch still isn't here (AMAZOOOOOOOOOOOON), but my case has arrived!

With no switch to throw into it I can't give a full review, but I'm liking what I see/feel. Its not a very HARD hard case, but for my use case (throwing in my messenger bag for school) it looks to be perfect.

my switch came but my buddies didn't, he just got this case today. If you were wondering this case fits PERFECT. I will be grabbing one.

only downfall is it smells like a casino out of the box.

That's what I've been wanting to hear, thanks. I've had my eyes on the Surge case but didn't want to run into a situation like with the Insignia where it's way too big, so good to hear that it fits perfectly. Went and ordered it as well as a tempered glass screen protector since the Switch unfortunately seems to need one as the screen's plastic...

I ordered the Hori tough ouch from Amazon since the RDS case got pushed back.

Just need one for a few weeks until Waterfield gets mine here.
