So basically like most launches the switch is half-baked undercooked from the hardware to the OS (currently ver. 2.0). I wanted to make a thread to specifically talk about what you'd like to see for the switches first major firmware update.

I have a lot of missing features I want to point out but by far what I want the most are:

- A real activity log-- without the fucking parental controls app
- docked os menus* rendering at full 1080p or 4K (if the switch can handle it)
- eshop cart and gifting options

There are a ton of things missing from this base operating system so gaf let's hear what you'd like to see.

I'm not sure I understand your last point, but definitely agree with activity log and OS rendering.
Also, basic stuff they could add:
- Music back in the eshop
- More themes and icons (don't care if it's not free)
- Wishlist working for games not out yet
- Ability to share more than one screenshot at a time (like on PS4 or Steam for example)
- Miiverse link

Other features are either confirmed for later (more methods to add friends, video sharing...) or something more complex that would ask for more time or some redesigning (like folders at some point, a basic (limited) web browser, etc)

New OS features and customization. It's far too barebones atm. It'd also be nice if we could actually use the browser that already exists for linking twitter/facebook accounts..

The4K thing is doable for the UI. I mean the nvidia shield tv is capable of rendering at 4K and it would be better to have UI and other elements running at 4K. Not the game graphics themselves of course.

But... why? It's super simple and super clean and there's really nothing to gain from it on the OS. Since the system obviously can't push games at 4k, the only real use would be 4k video and we'd need video apps first.

Yup they are pretty much the same as the Nvidia Shield console which can output 4K. So why not be able to support 4K for Netflix and Youtube?

Also, Miis transferring over. Its ridiculous that an app like Miitomo handles this better than Switch, which needs you to register an amiibo with 3DS / Wii.

Personally I'd love to see the following:

- More themes plus background music option
- Virtual Console
- Media apps (Netflix, YouTube, Twitch, etc)
- Video capture (streaming would be dope)
- Cloud saves
- Folders (once VC and media apps show up)

A fix for the TV changing to the HDMI channel the Switch is on even when the Switch is in sleep mode.
