Since this thread is gigantic I'll just ask my questions:
- Is the speaker level supposed to be pretty low? Seems lower than my N3DS.
- The earphone level is pretty low compared to my 3DS as well. Normal?
- My hinge is REALLY lose. What can I do to remedy this? I just put double sided tape as a temporary fix but I want to get it fixed. Will Nintendo replace it?

So I just dropped my switch on the counter trying to dock it. Slipped out of my hand and slid across the counter. Now I have the issue that Giantbomb had where my left joycon just slides out if I put pressure on it from below...any ideas? It's definitely just the joycon and not the rail as I tried the right one and it stayed in place.
Anker doesn't make a PD USB-C certified charger AFAIK. I was actually wondering if we need a thread just for power adapters that charge quick enough. I'm in the same boat in trying to find a power brick that'll charge quick enough.

Those + and - buttons definitely should have been put below, not above. Every time I reach to hit the map and nudge the analog, I just think "wow, awkward".

My wife surprised me with a Switch this morning:
She didn't let me open the box until I finished cleaning the apartment so I've only played for about 45 minutes but here are my impressions so far:

- Even though everyone said the Switch and dock are smaller than they expected, I was still surprised by how small they are. It's very impressive.
- The UI is indeed snappy and the sound effects are fun. The dark theme looks pretty damn nice, though I hope there will be a blue theme later on.
- The Joy-Con Grip is excellent. It does feel like a regular controller.
- Zelda seems great so far. Impressive world.
- I still need to try the Joy-Cons as separate controllers in a game, but it seems impossible to hold them without pressing the shoulder buttons. I hope I'm wrong and find a way to make it work.

Okay I didn't think I would pick one up, and I've been very negative about this. But after getting one for my Birthday, all I got to say is this is the best portable gaming device I have ever held... I didn't even feel this way about the Vita.
Games aren't here yet. I just hope I don't get disappointed like I did with the Wii U game delays.

Ohhh. Um my kickstand isn't really loose but the kickstand is of poor quality in general. Might be worth exchanging the console

I've put about 10 hours into Zelda maybe more, and a number of hours into various other games (VOEZ, Fast RMX, Bomberman). It's kind of painful to lose that data if I get a replacement. Plus it's out of stock at the moment where I got it from, so I'd have to wait even longer thus even more save data to lose.
Maybe it's going to be a case of finishing Zelda this month and then pushing for a replacement straight after. Hopefully they'll have more Neon stock then (the stock situation doesn't seem too dire in the UK).

Has anyone found the Hori Playstand for sale anywhere? It looks like it's backordered a full month on Amazon but I've seen people with them in unboxing videos.
Check ToysRUs. I found mine there. They had 5 when I came in late Friday night.

I did! It's great. Been playing Played through 4 levels and a lot of hub world shenanigans. Runs great and the "d pad" on the joy con isn't hendering anything either.
It plays and runs great. I've had no issues playing it with the joycons either (the Pro Controller is amazing for it though).
If you do get it, get it from the Mexican eshop, it's only $12 there (for some reason) for the Treasure Pack.
I got it. Runs great. Plays great on the Pro Controller, on the Joycons I've been having some issues with accuracy. The button d-pad is pretty much unusable for me in portable mode, so I have to play with the analog, but I've noticed that just walking past NPCs often triggers talking to them because it seems to register up being tapped very easily.
Specter of Torment is fucking AWESOME though.

The way the post is set-up almost makes it sound like the dogs are him and his wife If you like NES style platformers like Mega Man, Duck Tales, Ninja Gaiden, etc you'll love it. So much variety, excellent design.

Loving my Switch so far. Went ahead and got Zelda, Snipperclips, Shovel Knight Collection and FAST RMX. Even with a light game line up I have a bunch to play.
Going almost full portable with it. It's my Nintendo Vita. Can't wait to see what else they put out in the next few years.

Since you're not in the US, I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of people outside of the US have had issues with their cards being declined for being foreign cards.
But to change your region, you go to accounts.nintendo.com and you can select your country. The downside is that if you have any funds in your account, you'll lose them as it switches to the new countries currency.
Either way, Shovel Knight is well worth it. Just the base game alone would be worth it. I've got the Vita version, but I bought it for my Switch as well.

I had the same issue as Duckroll for easily pressing "up" near an NPC when i just wanted to move in a direction with the analog stick, it seems though that i'm always a bit pressing diagonally, the game's deadzone for up though should maybe be a tad higher?
I finished Specter of torment today. AMAZING game. I started shovel knight afterwards but after Specter knight, it seems too basic. Everything performed well (not that surprising i guess?)
I'm always wary of changing the actual region of my main account like that. I don't like doing it and prefer to keep it in one region so if anything goes wrong I can get more consistent support. I plan on just making a new user account on the Switch to use for downloading JP demos and maybe buying JP only games in future (with point cards).
Can anyone explain what happens to an account if you change region while it is linked to a previous NNID? What happens to that NNID? That's the sort of thing I'm worried about because of Nintendo's messy ass legacy account system.

Yup. This was me triple dipping on it just because I want it on my Switch which I will mainly be using now. It's a ridiculously good game.
When you change your region, it unlink's your NNID. All you have to do is change your region back to your home region and re-link your NNID back to your account. It won't let you link it to your account until you revert back to your home region. However, anything you purchase on that account will work just fine.
I did it with mine to buy Shovel Knight, and everything worked out fine after switching back to the U.S. It picked my NNID up perfectly fine and I can play Shovel Knight just fine.

It's weird how everything from Hori is back ordered on Amazon. I picked mine up at Target this morning. You can go to their site and get the DPCI code and then use BrickSeek to find which store has it in your area.

So, for someone looking for a great portable gaming machine (Splatoon 2 & Mario Kart 8 on the go), is the Switch a worthy investment this moment, or is it a 'wait and see' system in hopes of future updates bettering the hardware? I have the chance of affording it next paycheck, so want to make sure it's worth investing into. The overall issues do have me worried, though.

The system itself seems great but if money might be an issue I'd wait until there's a decent catalog of games. This thing has a ton of potential but there's a good chance it could end up just being a device for Nintendo first party games.
Can anyone help an European out with getting this sweet deal?
There's not really a way of paying sadly
The folding material should absolutely go on top of the screen, otherwise there's nothing offering cushion/protection for the analogs.
