For those of you with the Smash Link amiibo, how do you get Epona? do you have to use the amiibo out in the field similar to Wolf Link, for her to spawn? I've used it in towns for the past two days and only gotten a bunch of random drops and a chest.

Does the horse pop out of the chest?

It's random, like the rest of the Amiibo-exclusive items. I think it doesn't matter where you use it.

What'll happen is just that when you scan the amiibo and that yellow beam of light briefly appears, Epona will spawn in that light instead of any treasure chest or items falling from the sky.

Actually, this is the game's default outfit. Sorry. It's just too cool not to be.

One thing this game does not lack in is cool outfits lol

The last open world game I played before this was FFXV... lol, just makes me realize how truly awful that game was.

I'm playing Nier in addition to Zelda, and they both have things that just massively soured my opinion of the game more than I thought was possible lol

Got the Master Sword and called it there.

I was somewhat disappointed by
how easy it was to get through the Lost Woods. First section I got immediately and the second took a couple of minutes. Worst part was NO MUSIC. Honestly, that shit was criminal. Wasn't even original music. Just the shit that plays in icy areas.

A damn shame.

Why would ever have my horse wear the royal saddle and mouth piece when the monster one looks badass as fuck. He looks like an evil luchador horse lmao fuck yes. This royal stallion is now the royal pain giver brother

This really disappointed me. I was hoping she would fall from the sky.

I actually much prefer the
royal horse
to Epona. I named him Percy.

This game is insane lol

My friend scanned that amiibo 4 times before he even got that.

Nah. Each Amiibo has a variety of possible drops. Some of which are Amiibo-exclusive. It's a random roll each time you scan the Amiibo.

Yeah I know it can get like gems and stuff but wow for the amiibo exclusive on the new zelda one to just be a knights shield is sooooo lame compared to everything else the other amiibo give you

I Wanna Be The Guy

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
got my hands on a couple of 36 attack power weapons and felt like a badass until I ran into something that wasn't even taking a sliver of damage per hit from them (a
Lynel
based on what it dropped). It also did 4.75 hearts of damage per hit even with a triple defense buff active, and I only had 5 hearts.

But I killed it anyways because I'm awesome. And persistent. Reward wasn't really worth the effort but this shield is really cool. I feel like the aspect of venturing into areas I'm probably not supposed to be in yet, and conquering them anyways, is the main thing drawing me to this game.

It's funny because I'm so into exploring I'm sitting on 8 spirit orbs and keep getting distracted before I can turn them in...I haven't gotten any stamina upgrades yet, that seems like less of a priority considering what I've been spending my time doing.
I fought one of those when I only had 4 hearts and no stamina upgrades. I also had no defensive potions or anything like tgat to use. It killed me in 1 hit every time. I literally was not allowed to make a single mistake in that fight and it felt soooooo good beating it. Had to go through most of my weapons to beat it too.

This enemy is nowhere near as intimidating with the 9 hearts I have now, shit loads of health items, way better weapons and way better armour. It's like, bitch please, I beat you when I had nothing. Why should I fear you now?

That fight was a real git gud moment actually. One of the most memorable parts of the game so far for me.

1x firefly + 4x bokoblin fangs + pot = 50r

Looking around some of the icy mountains for luminous stones (it's really easy at night) and then trading them for a diamond for the guy in Zora's domain.

Hunting big game in the mountains (rhinos and moose) and cooking and selling skewers of prime and gourmet meat.

Find the snow bowling mini game and watch the video in how to get a strike every time. It is by far the fastest way to earn rupees in the game.

Thanks!

Funny story. I spent an hour trying to catch that damn thing early on. I had to learn how to make a stamina-extending meal just to have enough to get her. I take her back to the stable, and since I figure this'll be my main horse for awhile, I spend some time brainstorming with my fiancé on a really good kick-ass name.
We ultimately named her Nora, as a BTAS reference, because we're dorks.

Immediately after all of this, I decide to checkout the Faron region and try to activate that tower. I ride her over there, start climbing the tower, and a lightning storm starts. I don't take much note of it, aside from the fact that I need to unequip some metal shit, and I proceed up the tower. I get the tower done, and glide back down. But, to my surprise, she's gone. Can't find her anywhere. I look around for a few seconds, until I see something white in the nearby river. I run over to investigate, and Nora's lifeless body is floating down the river, still have no idea what happened.

I thought so too but then I tried to fight the
Ice Lynel
in Hebra and this dude is legit the devil. Shattered my best shields in one hit. This one has some sort of supernova attack plus bomb arrows.

Thanks, I'll try save scumming in a field today and see if I can get her. Can you give her a mohawk like you can with regular horses? I love that look.

You know what this game is missing? Monster climbing that doesn't require specific things to happen to let you. I'd love to fly over a Lynel stealth like and get on his face and start stabbing it from the get go

Nope. You can't change her name, mane, or gear. The NPC says something about not feeling right to change a horse of legend.

For some reason IGN says botw zelda can give the hylian shield but that's gotta be a mistake right?

The knight's shield looks like the Hylian shield if you're unfamiliar with how it normally looks. And it's on the back of the box. That's likely where the confusion came from.

The real question is if
Mipha
is attempting to rob the cradle with Link

Who even knows. The game seems to imply Zora live like 150 years at minimum, so she could be 40 for all we know.

Anyone beat the labyrinth legitly? Lol

I did it both ways because I found a blade covered in flames and wanted to know if there were more cool items in there.

After activating the shrine I saw
that the tunnel from when the wind blows to let you out of the area had a floor so I jumped and there was this MASSIVE room filled with rusted guardians and a chest in the middle... yeah game, I played Dark Souls you know.
