Yeah, I ordered from them. I bought from desktop using Chrome if that makes any difference?

And yep, that's the voucher I used.

I'm finally back at home and at the office and tried on both computers and made a seperate account and still not working. I've emailed them. Some people have the same problem on their facebook page too. I literally cannot checkout for this offer, but I can if I try to buy something else.

This is pretty annoying. Ah well.

So I've been watching Summon Night 6 on Amazon since it was put up and noticed that none of them have a Prime discount, which that doesn't take more than an hour or so to go live as well. Is there some kind of loophole that makes it so the game won't have a discount? If so I wonder why no other publisher makes use of it.

It can take days or even weeks for the Amazon Prime discount to go live.
For example, FFXII LE still doesn't have it.

It should auto-adjust regardless of when you order it.

So, a new 2018 Vita game announced for Japan. And it's Virtual On... crossed with A Certain Magical Index:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1351886

Wat.

Also, don't want to sound too doom-y, but it seems like Compile Heart/Idea Factory are reaching the end of their Vita support. They announced two new games at the Dengeki Fest today - a new Genkai Tokki game and a port of the Hakuouki remakes, both of them for PS4. With regards to Hakuouki, they had this to say:

In a message shared on the Japanese PlayStation Blog, Idea Factory said that Hakuoki Shinkai: Fuukaden is only the start of its PlayStation 4 support, and that it plans to release more Otomate brand titles on the platform in the future.

I fully expect them to keep releasing otome games as PS4/Vita going forward, but it's pretty clear that they plan to make PS4 their new home for the brand. Which is strange, never thought I'd see the day where a home console was the home for VN's, but there you go.

Anyway, now it kinda makes sense when IFI grabbed Hakuouki when they did; and it seems like Gun Gun Pixies might be the last of the Compile Heart support on Vita (other than that F2P Nep game).

PS2 had quite a few otome games. Seeing the games move to ps4 isn't all that strange :p.

Ha. That's true I suppose. I just kinda thought since the genre flourished on PSP, we'd never really see it going back to consoles. Always assumed Switch was the next logical step, but I guess they wanna stay with Sony.

Sorry to hear you missed out on the deal, that is pretty annoying.

Btw, for anyone wondering, my copy of DOAX3 (which shipped either Wednesday or Thursday) arrived yesterday from Mariio128. I'm guessing it shipped from within the UK then. I'm impressed!

This prop the most active via thread on gaf right?
Read something about external USB hard drive support for playstation tv like a month ago but could not find the link again.
Was this fake or is this really something that is doable?

Looks totally fake to me.

I mean, how is Sony going to make money out of those memory cards if they would allow you to use an external hard drive?

Check the Henkaku thread, people there might know if it became a thing.

You know when the company that many consider to be bottom of the barrel ends support, that the system is not long for this world. Even then, if this ends up being the final year of any "major" releases for the system, I'm pretty pleased with the dozen or so games I'll be buying for it this year.

I'm still questioning their decision to make a f2p card game on Vita though, when they could have slapped a base game on a cart and loaded it with dlc and likely made quite a bit more than they will by keeping it f2p. Keeping it f2p also means it basically has no chance of leaving Japan either, which remains the biggest head scratcher when any CH game with Neptune is guaranteed to sell over here.

Yeah, I definitely would've bought it if it was a regular retail game.

Ehh. I know Compile Heart have a crappy reputation, but their games have come on leaps and bounds in the past 5 years or so. I maintain that Trillion is an excellent game and the Nep Rebirth titles are fun too.

But yeah, it doesn't bode well in the system and certainly it seems like in both Japan and the west, 2017 is the last year we're getting consistent 'major' releases (in Japan I feel like it's worse than in the west actually, there's like no big games scheduled for after April, unless you count Itadaki Street). Still, Japan just had its first 2018 game announced today and we know of multiple coming in the west next year too, so it's not over yet.

re. Nep, I agree with you. No idea why they're releasing a F2P game on a dwindling userbase. Your suggestion of paid game with expansion packs is bang on the money. Maybe there's still time to change it, but it's taking so long anyway I have to wonder if it's being retooled as something else.

I think the Switch's first 6 months will be a transition period for Vita, depending on how things will go we'll see if developers will abandon Vita for switch, ps4 and pc or they will keep supporting it for some more time.

Let's see if they keep that opinion after these ports come out. At one point Otomate was supposed to flourish on PS3. :p

Could not agree more. I'm playing the Rebirth-Remakes recently and got the platinum for the first two. They are super fun. Sure they had their lows on PS3, especially the first Neptunia game was really weak (and the remake is soo much better), but most games in the last couple of years were great.

Oh yeah, I don't expect this to be a particularly worthwhile venture for them, but when they're selling 5-10k copies of their otome games on Vita anyway, it's not like the market can't exist on PS4.

Besides, if they fail abjectly on PS4, it's not like they're going to come running back to Vita =/

Is this the first known Vita release for 2018, or were others already announced?

In Japan, yes, as far as I know.

In general, no. Pixel Noir has recently re-confirmed Vita support for 2018. There's also Bloodstained & Glitched, but who knows whether they'll actually happen.

I wonder if the Osumatsu-san game has been delayed to port to PS4, wait out for the second season of the anime, or both.

If it does, no retailer lists it as an extra (I guess VGP does and that's what brought this up a few pages later in that thread). It would explain a higher price though.

Seems you linked that from several pages back, this is more recent:
FIRST RUN BONUS : Mail-in voucher pullout in the manual for a free full soundtrack with standard jewelcase. USA AND CANADIAN RESIDENTS ONLY. SHIPPING EXTRA.
Shipping is $3.95 for the US, which covers the packaging, postage, and labor. The CD mailing boxes are 1 per, so multiples don't save anything. Haven't worked out Canadian and international shipping yet, but S/H will be whatever that costs us, it's not a profit center.
$5 extra tacked onto the game + shipping honestly isn't bad at all for a full soundtrack, surprised it's as cheap as it is.

Actually I heard back from Play-asia today, and they created an order for P4:DAN and LBP Vita on my account and I paid for it just then so hopefully it goes through, because there were no shipping costs :)

Btw, does Mariio128 have a website and does he ship overseas, id be interested to know what vita games he's got?

This is such a bummer. I can't say enough good things about the Vita, its my second favourite system after the PS2. It deserved more love from gamers in general, most of whom imo gave up mobile/handheld gaming in general in favour of PC or console gaming. The Vita games still look great after 5 years and I love the variety of games on the system. The only thing that isn't on the Vita is a basketball game!

I'm playing Dungeon Travelers 2 and its great. It is rather long though so I'm wondering how long I have to go in terms of number of hours. I'm on Chapter
7 - Imperial Garden
. I've already spent about 35 hrs in the game and probably another 5 hours where I just forgot to save and lost progress. About the only gripe I have is that the game is pretty narrowly focused and there isn't a whole lot of variety besides dungeon crawling and combat, but otherwise this is a really fantastic title.

I'm wondering is Natural Doctrine on the Vita worth US$15? How hard is it?

And I'm thinking about getting some Lego games on the Vita, I know some of them are 3DS ports, but which are the best ones to get? I'm thinking Batman 3, Jurassic World, Shadow of Ronin, Batman 2, Lord of the Rings, Nindroids in that order of preference. I have Lego Marvel Super Heroes already, would it be worth getting Marvel Avengers? My kids are 3 and 1 so it'll be a while before they can play them on their own, but looking to collect for them now.

Best lego games?

I almost finishes them all, but I loved:
- jurassic world (amazing franchise, lovely game)
- marvel avangers (i didn't like heroes)
- batman 3 (I also liked part 2, but this is bigger and better)
- lego chima (didn't knew anything about the chima licence but it was fun)
- ninjago shadow of ronin (same)
- lego movie (weird but amazing fun)

Compile Heart has confirmed they're developing a brand new RPG exclusively for Vita that they hope to unveil soon: https://twitter.com/IdeaFactoryWeb/status/841146016623607813

I guess the Japanese fans thought the same things Kresnik and I did and "voiced" their opinions on that.

Hey, we all thought it ;)

But yeah. It kinda goes to show how silly some publishers can be with this kinda stuff, even a publisher that supported Vita incredibly well.

They announce not only is their franchise which was born on Vita and has flourished there is moving to PS4; they're also bringing the genre which they committed wholeheartedly to Vita with a couple of years ago to PS4 too.

Then they wonder why fans are like "oh, you're done with the console then?"

I wonder if the Osumatsu-san game has been delayed to port to PS4, wait out for the second season of the anime, or both.

I do indeed wonder what is taking so long with it.

Btw, does Mariio128 have a website and does he ship overseas, id be interested to know what vita games he's got?

This was the website I ordered from:

https://mariio128.com/

And it came to UK no problems.

They're all 3DS ports. I actually wrote an article about a history of LEGO games on PSP & Vita a while ago.

tl;dr - anything from LEGO Batman 3 onwards is solid, everything before that is a DS port and the quality is questionable. My recommendation is Avengers, it's awesome.

It's HARD, i wasn't able to go on after few missions, and i usually finish everything i like, it was already really hard for me to finish missions but the death of
the readhead
sealed the deal and i abandoned it.

But maybe i'm just not good enough for the game who knows.

Thanks guys - and that article is exactly what I needed!

So the order for me is now -

1. Jurassic Worlds
2. Batman 3
3. Avengers
4. The Force Awakens

Six Lego games is probably enough for the young uns at this stage!

I don't mind a hard game, but getting stuck somewhere usually makes me move on to something else. I liked what I read of the vita lounge review, and some of the impressions in the Natural Doctrine threads have me interested in the game. The other thing that interests me is that its only 20 hours for the story, so that seems like a nice length.

I was interested too that's why i bought it(at launch or not too later IIRC), but it's harder than other games, my impression is that after few missions you don't have the freedom of choice anymore, each mission has a "solution" like a puzzle game, if you want to win you have to do a certain sequence of actions with very little freedom of variation, otherwise you lose.

I might do this if the shipping to Malaysia is reasonable.

I'm playing Dungeon Travelers 2 now so this might be too easy going by people that have played it.

One thing that pains me about the Vita is that some games are no longer releasing on it like an english version of Puyo Puyo Tetris or DQHII. Which is pretty annoying considering the japanese version is already out. Guess I need to just get a Switch.
