So, hypothetically, when there's an international crisis, or a reason for the US to send troops to a foreign country, not only will we not be able to fully trust any reasoning they give for our military action, we can probably also assume they might be lying to us about it as well. Awesome.

Isn't there some nursery rhyme or fairy tale about Trump?

Mary had an orange lamb
It wouldn't stop gruntin'
She took it round the back of house
And kicked it's little

Wait no that's not it. It's this one:

Little Trump Horner
Sat in a corner
Drinking his Pee Pee Pie
He stuck in his thumb
And pulled out a prostitute

Nope.
WHY CAN'T I REMEMBER?

Oh wait

Little Don Muffet
Sat on his tuffet
And ruined the country's reputation in less than two months of blustering incompetence and actual treason.

this man must require hours of massage therapy considering the pretzels he contorts himself into in order to explain away the obvious as something other than what it is.

There's also a song: Trump - It Wasn't Me

Comey came in and he caught me red-handed
Creeping with the Putin next door
Picture this, we were discussing sanctions
Colluding together in the shadows

How could i forget,
That I had given him Crimea
All the time fake news were standing there
They never took their eyes off me

...

They caught me on the phone (wasn't me)
Saw us tweeting on the sofa (wasn't me)
I even tweeted in the shower (wasn't me)
Caught me peeing on camera (wasn't me)

I know Obama is perfectly content to stay out of the self-defeating spectacle El Presidente has turned this deflection into, but part of me wants him to actually get offended and call his bluff, since it was an accusation of criminal behavior.

Exactly, Obama doesn't want to distract from the Russian investigation. But if nothing comes out of that, he should fight this baseless accusations and humiliate Trump for the next 4 years.

how is it a "false allegation"...?

lack of evidence or proof doesn't make something false, it just means there is currently no evidence to support the allegation.

this is seriously logic 101

Maybe study Logic 102: Epistemology before making shitty posts like this, hmm?

Trump would never admit a mistake or apologize for anything even if his life depends on it he is that arrogant and egotistical. They should offer him the choice of being impeached or apologizing to Obama personally on camera to get him out of the WH.
That... that's amazing. I would be pretty happy either way to see him (for once in his life) be completely ironically apologetic about anything he's done.

The Earth is flat.

There's just currently no evidence to support the allegation.

Logic 101.

it's not false because there's no proof, it's false because it's false. it didn't happen. the alleged thing did not occur.

So far he's dropped our arguments about the shit Trump says. Maybe he doesn't want it to get bad between us or that he knows he's wrong and refuses to admit it and keeps making up excuses and reasons as if one will stick. Best believe I'm not letting this and the proposed budget garbage go though. We're talking about that when he comes by.

Nice, keep at it man

So now literally any made up bullshit cannot be called false because you can't prove a negative? Please prove you are not working with the Russians. I'm not saying you ARE working with the Russians, just that we have no evidence otherwise, and that's suspicious as fuck.

as a philosophy major, I would love to hear how exactly I am incorrect with what I posted

don't worry, I'll wait
As literally any non-axiomatic statement cannot *technically* be proven false, your statement is inherently meaningless. Assuming the allegation *is* false, there cannot exist a conclusive test to ensure that, yes, in fact, it never happened.

Therefore, when we speak of "false", we mean within reasonable bounds and the burden of proof. If I say you hacked into the CIA when you were 14, it's a *false allegation*, not just that I can't level evidence against you.

Also it *happens to be false*.

I can't prove I'm not working with the Russians. that's pretty much my entire point.

Nothing technical about it, you logically can't prove a negative. Anything you add beyond that falls outside the realm of logic.

Then meaningful discussion about literally any factual matter in the real world is pointless. GTFO with this bullshit.

(Also you can prove axiomatically-based negative statements, such as "there do not exist any even prime numbers above 2".)

Unfortunately, I am not responsible for dictating the way logic works. Your anger is misguided.

lol this is just pseudo-intellectual word games.

The fact is, if you are unable to prove something it is false and has been forever. It is the onus of the individual making the claim to prove it is true.

If Spicer ever is fired or quits you definitely could take over and not miss a beat.

When you have to be cute with phrasing and logic, chances are you are defending bullshit. Nothing wrong with that, just be honest about it

He's just proud of him/herself because he attended a lecture.

He's had two weeks to show proof, the ability to declassify documents, and the federal government at his disposal. This guy is going to argue logic. Oh boy.

Well isn't this kinda what you have to do, when everything else suggests you're wrong?

I'm guessing you've failed to study anything in regards to the analytic–synthetic distinction? Chomsky wrote some pretty interesting shit on this subject, off the top of my head.

It was bizarre. He went on forever and ever connecting disparate articles and and theories eventually coming to the conclusion that Obama used the British intelligence to surveil Trump

Isn't that way worse. Basically he is saying the President of the United States conspired with a foreign government to surveil a US citizen bypassing the FBI and regular legal channels in the process. I mean that's an extreme charge to even use as a throwaway excuse. Not that i'm surprised they would do this I mean they can say anything so far without consequence.

There are debates on whether that distinction is even meaningful and *who cares*. You are literally Neil DeGrasse Tyson in that Key and Peele sketch. No one ascribes to Last Thursdayism. This is reality, and I do not act as though invisible, inaudible, permeable-to-physical-objects dragons are stalking around behind me.

Is any of this even real? If I don't observe any news does any policy actually happen?

The funny thing is that even a math professor would go "yeah, ok, let's move on" if he brought up that point.

In class.

Always lying......it astounds me how incredibly belligerent they are about stating things that are very clearly not true. Especially when it comes to such inconsequential shit (inauguration attendance, wiretapping smears against someone no longer in power).
