What is Bloodborne 2?

Just thinking about it and I have no concept in my mind what Bloodborne 2 is. BB was such a complete package and the threads were tied up fairly nicely to the point I don't even think I want a sequel. There is literally nothing I could point at and say "This needs enough fixing to justify a sequel", its just everything about it was well "discussed" in terms of mechanics and visuals I don't see anywhere else to go.

I would like to see a preapocolypse Yharnam, but I think removing the "I am alone"-ness of Souls would freak out too many people, but a populated Souls seems very interesting to me. Outside of that I think they would need a vast shift in setting to even justify building from BB, because honestly there is not much to improve.

I don't know, maybe something akin to Demon's Souls to Dark Souls might be a better evolution. I just need more Soulsbourne type games from From.

Yeah I'm not feeling a sequel either. The story is complete and so perfectly executed that I actually fear a sequel would somehow make it less perfect.

I'm with OP in thinking Bloodborne 2 is unnecessary and hopefully not happening. It's just a fantasy of obsessive Sony stans who feel possessive of From Software because of the good exclusives they've done.

That image is so clean, it would be awesome if From did something similar if there ever is a sequel.

lol come on now. I don't think the game needs a sequel, but I wouldn't turn down one.

Set it in a different location with new kinds of Old Blood. You could do a lot. Blood craved samurai turning into yokai. Maybe see what an African Safari looks like when the Old Blood is around. I'd even buy Future "What if the Borg got the Old Blood?" Stuff.

Old ones and old blood have infinite applications if they do it well.

I agreed with your first sentence and then you had to ruin it with the follow-up. Not everyone is a fanboy.

I thought about it, and I have an idea. Almost all the healing church is gone, as well as byrgenwerth by the end. More importantly, etribeas, the source of yharnams pale blood is gone too. This leaves a massive vacuum that with time Annalise, the undying queen of the vilebloods can fill. By the end of the game, she's free even if Alfred kills her. And we know she has been working on making a child great one. This leads to Arianna, descendant of the vilebloods who gives birth to a infant great one. If you take the player replacing gerhman ending as canon, Annalise could recover Arianna and the baby and restore cainhursts former glory, all while the hunter remains trapped in the dream.

It's why I'm generally against Souls sequels. Let Miyazaki carve out his twisted fantasies without sequel hooks and have us speculate until the end of time.

Don't get me wrong, I'd dig the shit out of Bloodborne II, but I feel any additional lore would needlessly complicate the universe. And it would have to, because Souls games thrive on ambiguity, so we'd end up knowing a little more about the universe, but leave with a hundred other questions that may directly retcon previously assumed lore.

Yeah. It's always good to just let something ride out and be what it is.

When you take a good idea and stretch it past its original intention, you're just increasing the chance of ruining it.

Bloodborne with dark souls 1 world connectivity, deeper more meaningful covenant system and better coop.

That's my dream sequel.

After reading your post I just realized Bloodborne is probably my favorite game where I have absolutely no clue what the plot was about, lol

I say let it be one and done. It's a 10/10 game that I wouldn't mind if it were left alone.

I wish Dead Space could have suffered that same fate, but look what happened

This is me. I finished BB and had legitimately no idea what happened. I liked filling in the little threads I was aware of, because honestly the half finished story in my head was more interesting than the more explicit story people described after reaplying however many times.

Honestly, I dont think anyone is supposed to understand the whole story. You pick up whatever threads you find interesting and make up the story as you go, so everyone has a slightly different story in their head while playing.

That said I do wish the general plot was more explicit, even something as open as Shadow of the Colossus at least made the goal clear.

Which means it should be The Old Hunters instead of Base BB.

I hated The Old Hunters...Bloodborne had a perfect balance of difficulty and TOH just pushed it too far in the difficulty direction to the point it was no longer fun and challenging, it was just plain hard
