at last, for christ's sake
finally started the game today, played for five hours straight and then one additional hour on portable mode. Basically only did the Old Man's tunic quest, which took me three hours and a half because I couldn't find whatever the shit was the third ingredient he needed for his grilled meat, then i sidestepped a lot to explore what is a really small area, had various FUCKING HELL moments like when I accidentally awoke Stone Talus (I seriously shat my pants, he kept hurling massive rocks at me even from 100 ft, thanks tree!)

loving. every. second. the feeling of discovery never abandons you, and climbing has never been so fun in a videogame. This game just oozes pure, unadultered gameplay

I just discovered that shieldsurfing in Gerudo desert, even without sand seals, does not damage your shield. Makes sense.

Yea, the reception is pretty cool, though i feel I'm playing a different game when people complain about empty space and nothing to do. Halfway through the hebra region, just trecking through the snow is really fun for me. Never felt like this in an open world games before.

Hebra region is my favorite because you can go shieldsurfing for days. Climb a snowy peak, and go ski like a pro.

Thunderblight Ganon in the Gerudo Divine Beast
is kicking my ass.
Two-handed weapons, in particular, seem useless - and that's what I'm kind of loaded on right now.
Any tips?

Ok this is the best game I have ever played. Everything I try is possible. The rhythm of climbing and paragliding is sublime. The density of content is a perfect blend of white space and conflicted space. The game is basically screaming "try shit out" at me, and when I do, there is a result based in verisimilitude rather than "gamey" restrictions.

I might have also just gotten good at snow bowling after conquering my second divine beast...
the Gerudo one

I am like 50 hours in and still being surprised. Ghah. I am loathe to continue the main quest because I just want to free-form it.

OK guys I think my game might be broken. I'm doing the
Master of Winds shrine quest and every time I land on the altar while taking the wind ride, nothing happens. I blew up all the rocks and there is a strong central gust;
the cutscene already played. Am I supposed to land on a certain part?

Question about a certain shield

I heard the HS is inside Hyrule Castle. If I try to get it before I'm ready to face Ganon, will I see any story spoilers? Does going near the castle trigger any cutscenes? I wanted to get all my gear and then crash through the front door like a boss but I dont want the quest to get the shield spoil that moment. Should I just hold off until later?

There are no cutscenes to entering Hyrule Castle. It's surprisingly uneventful, but I like it quite a bit. It validates going there early and it's a very cool place.

Been exploring for nearly 40 hours, only done the first dungeon. I want to go to the hot and cold environments. Is there clothes I can buy to go? The food I make doesn't seem to be enough to combat the weather.

Thanks.

Showed my girlfriend this game, all she wanted to do was hunt wildlife. Nothing else really interested her. Her comment: "Wow this game is really fun I can tell why people are excited about it."

Reminds me of the Miyamoto story, about how all he wanted to do was climb trees. I think something this game does really well is having a world that's fun to play around in. Even if you're not following a particular objective.

You need to land those flurry attacks.

Yo, so did they even try to play the approach on Naboris themselves? The controls were completely awful.

lol at Link when he's wearing

Dark Link armor and villagers are scared of him.
Or the "imposing" pose he tries to take on with the Lynel head.

Pity that neither can be died.

You probably missed a rock, there are multiple cutscenes. If the platorm is activated try
aiming for its center
.

Do you have to
land exactly on that center circle
?
The wind carries me all the way there already
, so I know it works.

You should have at least one piece of clothing for cold areas (if you missed it in the plateau you can buy it at hateno iirc), you can use that plus one extra food for the cold areas.

ALso, there are hot areas, and there are burning areas, you need different clothes/food for those, for the hot area try going at different times of the day.

Additionaly, carrying a elemental weapon as your main weapon will change your body temperature so youc an use that to survive too.

Yes. If you are falling s little short start your jump from the top of the main rock. That way you'll be at the top of the wind stream.

There is one set of breakable rocks which are stuck on the upper side of one of the rocks. Maybe you missed that one. I think it may be I. The middle somewhere.

You can buy clothes for cold weather, but the clothes for hot weather (and "fire" weather, which is different) are located within areas you'll need heat/fire resistance to get to. You'll have to make or find heat/fire resistant meals in the meantime.

Nope, I got that one. I've been
landing on the alter but I guess you have to land in that tiny circle in the middle of it.

I've been playing this game for almost two and a half weeks. I'm at over 105 hours and I'm dreading starting the final Divine Beast
in Gerudo
because I just don't want this experience to end. I really hope the DLC delivers more greatness on par with the main game.

Are we complaining about moving Naboris? Or are we complaining about its boss? Cause the map stuff makes perfect sense so I'm not sure what would need to be changed with that. Took me a while but that's because I needed to visualize where I need my platforms to go and not because of the user interface. The boss was a doozy for me because of my weaker parrying skills and his style of attacking in the last 3rd varies a lot.

What do you mean bugged?

The dragon appeared, but no song, no wind currents no electricity shooting (I was fighting
Farosh
. Arrows pass through it. You don't get hit. Even when I get very close it just shows the low-res long distance textures

If I fast travel to the southernmost stable, it always appear flying through the lake and under the bridge at any time of the day. Looked it up and apparently other people got it too. So I restarted the game and it was fixed.

I got random blood moons during this time, too.

Where is tarry town? I've been all over the map but haven't encountered it. Also apparently theres quests for the giant dragon things? Any hints at where I should go to start them? I heard one involves a
secret boss, which sounds cool

Final boss spoilers:

I got curious with the bow of twilight you get from amiibo since it fires light arrows I was wondering if it was capable of destroying the weak points on ganon / deal the finalo blow and it totally was. I didn't test to see if other bows could as well but the bow of twilight is functionally the same as the bow of light zelda gives you for the final boss.

I did experience the first one, but I kind of camped out in its spawn point where it does not shine, no dragon music, nor release sparks and it does not even damage you when touched. Attacking it at Lake Hylia does work all the time for me though.

Did you struggle with the sand seal race too? Cause I did that on my second try.

Three tries. First one I collided with a rock. Second one was overtime, couldn't see the last flag lol. Third time was easy.

To put matters in perspective, I did most of Gerudo on foot before I acquired the
sand boots
.

Sandseals control like shit.

They control fine for me. The control is basically on where the sand seal will head to, not Link's swinging at the back. My complaint about them is their speed and dash, since they seem to slow down at not-so-regular intervals.

Ha now that quest pissed me off. I was looking around
even saw the sword which is key for the continuation for the snow boots. Had not crossed me mind that the statue was not in a snowy area. The worst thing that had me face palming is that the statue outline is clearly on the map haha.

Has anyone else tried to talk to shopkeepers/innkepeer while standing on their table at Tarrey Town? Their reactions are really funny.
