That mini game you played a lot.

So I saw the Yakuza thread and it got me thinking how in some games, the mini games takes up as much or more time than the base game itself.

I remember enjoying Blitzball a lot and played it even after I got all the exclusive stuff from that mini game. Triple Triad was whole new world and I would gladly welcome a game revolving around that.

What are your favorite mini games guys?

The Mario 64 DS mini games.
They were addicting.

Edit: if you don't mean separate mode. I guess the card game in Digimon World 3

Does the Mini-games in Pokemon Stadium count? 'Cause if so, I lost more hours in that Clefairy mini-game than the game itself

Seriously, Nintendo could make a killing if they ever put those on smartphones.

Triple Triad. I just don't have the patience to deeply involve myself in minigames anymore.
I'm sure Gwent is great, but Witcher 3 is already a million hours long. Gotta move on.

Gwent turned the main quest of Witcher 3 into a side quest. My Geralt was obsessed with finding new people to play and new cards to acquire at every town and shop.

I spent almost as much time with the minigames in Super Monkey Ball 2 as I did with the main game. And I played the main game enough to get good enough to clear Master Extra
with 99 lives

Holy shit, the turtle shell bouncing game in 64 DS was amazing. I think I played that more than anything else the first year I had my DS. Me and my wife spent hours beating each other's high scores lol.

Tetra Master was OK but I never understood it completely.

Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle consumed my life.

The Tetris Attack and Island Adventure minigames in the last Animal Crossing patch were really good.

Yakuza 0 minigames (dancing in particular) are great. My gf loves the Ufo catcher ones for some reason :p

Kirby 64 Crystal Shards minigames were super addicting. I loved the racing and block smashing ones the most.

Blitzball I thought was super boring and frustrating and I never liked it.

I used to be a huge sucker for these.

Blitzball, Triple Triad and the Chao Garden from SA:2 stole hours of my life.

I keep hearing about Gwent and I'm sure I'll get sucked in whenever I finally play Witcher 3.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja had a number of mini games on the third stage. I'd play up to that level (entering the codes took to long), the just play wac-a-mole and bet on the horses.

I think Gwent was the only minigame that I truly enjoyed, and I played it enough to finish all of the quests involved with it as well as collect all of the cards.

My first experience with gambling lol! I thought that graphically this game was astonishing for the GBA. The summons were so on point with the 2D/3D sprite work.

There was this pretty decent little RPG minigame you could play in between rounds of The Gwenter 3: The Wild Gwent which I put a fair bit of time into.
