Oceanhorn is one of the better top-down Zelda-likes out there.

Just ignore the fishing minigame.

I actually liked the way the fishing was executed, required a bit of interaction without being too demanding. Only real problem was there was no real point to it other than the achievements.

It's great, but nothing really amazing or groundbreaking. It's been bundled before, and it'll probably be bundled again around the release of the sequel.

I didn't really like what I played of it. Though I got it in a humble bundle right after playing LBW, so maybe I was a bit spoiled.

A good CPU is much more important than a good GPU for CEMU.

You can and most good Wii U exclusives already run perfectly or near perfectly at full speed and even at 4k and higher resolutions :)

Holy shit. That's really impressive. So I'm guessing running Wii games is ez mode then? I kinda want to play Xenoblade Chronicles on my PC. Is it legal to download a rip of the game if you already own the Wii version?

what's a good cpu then

like the idea of upgrading my computer instead of buying a console is very appealing to me since i don't really have room for a console

Technically no; It must be a rip of the game you made yourself.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

You might get some different answers based on laws of specific countries, so before other people come in and muddy the waters I'll tell you this: you're in the US so it is illegal.

what's the word on oceanhorn

it's cheap on nuuvem (south america only)

It's pretty fun little thing, not super difficult or anything and maybe not the most creative premise, but I had fun with it.
Most of the real problems I had with it when I played it were technical in nature and I'm pretty sure they patched those issues out since then.

I think it was €7.30 or something in nuuvem when I grabbed it and it's well worth that.

Here's a couple 4K to 1080p downsamples I took 2 years ago.

Were all the problems tied to the same issue (stuff falling through the ground)? Feels like a light was switched since last I checked; one moment there's no water, no items, no grass, runes don't work, and now this.

Not even close, but they receive an insane bonus after BotW released on their patreon so they must be working day and night on this =P

Is "D" (the game) on sale somewhere? Enhanced Steam hasn't found any deals on it, but it's suddenly active among my friends so I assume it is. Unless everyone just discovered the D.

Steam apparently now has anime games with complete nudity in them
What a time to be alive.

I'm not sure if it would be allowed to link to here due to its explicitness (then again Conan is discussed here, but just playing it safe), but there's a third person multiplayer shooter with uncensored Senran style clothing damage mechanics out on Steam now called Soul Saber 2.

I'm thinking about getting it
but I'm worried that I'll regret it if I do since its looking like its actual combat might be even shallower than Senran
Nier up to 155k on Steamspy!
That's beating out several Final Fantasy games in sales numbers, and doing so in less than a week. This is looking like one of Square's most successful Japanese Steam releases.

I'm not even sure it's available anywhere other than Steam and GOG. It was available in Groupees - Be Mine 29 in February; I guess that could be an explanation.

I'm getting itchy with the Humble Monthly. The Witness certainly looks beautiful, but I don't know if I could beat it, let alone find sneaky things. I hope they reveal the Original or Debut game from the month to help the decision.

I haven't dug into it *all* but Flat Heroes has more going on than I thought, even as single player. There are modes with power ups, twin stick-like shooting, racing, boss battles, modifiers like invisibility, and holding ground, all in addition to the N+-like levels. I quite like it.

The Witness is pretty brilliant, easily the best puzzle game I've played since Hexcells. I was really getting into it, and then I won Atelier Sophie and haven't played anything else since. I'm a little worried when I go back to The Witness I will have forgotten what I've learned in it. That said, $12 for it and the solid blind box to me is pretty much a no brainer if you like puzzle games at all; plus you'll almost certainly get something else worthwhile along with it.

Just wrapped up route B in Nier. I spent a lot of time making sure to complete all the side-quests I accidentally screwed myself out of the first time around, so it probably took me way longer than it should have. It was neat but I kinda feel like I didn't get enough out of it to
justify an entire new playthrough. At least the parts when 2B and 9S weren't together were neat, though. Based on the vague things I've seen people say as well as that preview at the end, it sounds like route C is going to change things up much more significantly, so I'm looking forward to that.

At some point during those first two runs I really started regretting dropping the original Nier, though. I still think it wasn't a very good game but Automata is so good that it makes it almost retroactively worth enduring the mediocre gameplay. I considered putting my route B playthrough on hold and going back to it but I ended up watching a recap today instead. I had already watched one but this one was more in depth and less confusing. I'll definitely give it another shot if they ever end up remastering it but at least now I can focus on Automata without worrying I'll miss out on anything major.

Anyway, probably won't start route C until tomorrow. Hell, I should probably go back and finish Styx 2 before going any further. Can't believe I got distracted from it so much, I was looking forward to it way more than Automata lol.

Toukiden 2 runs flawlessly on my computer. Goes to show that not all games run equally on different PCs.
NieR:Automata, considered a good port, runs like crap on my system.
Toukiden 2, considered an awful/bad port runs like a dream.
