The Flash S3 |OT| It was me, Barry.

Everything sounded weird with Barry and Kara singing. Everyone else sounded like they were actually singing, but for some reason for those two's singing sounded weird and fake, haha.

I know they can both sing, so it was really weird.

Kara sounded a bit post-processed in "Moon River" but it could have just been the recording. Victor Garber's wobble was the most distracting part of the singing, for me.

That was a cute episode. The resolution was super cheesy but it gets a pass since most musicals are cheesy. At least we got some singing from the theater folks in the casts, which was nice.

I've been down on this season a lot lately but that was like a top 3 episode of the whole series. The best of all the crossover episodes too tbh.

Did this remind anyone else of the Star Trek: TNG Q episodes? Darren Criss was basically like Q.

Sappy and schmaltzy stuff in here but I'm a sucker for all that, I'm actually glad they resolved the relationship and had him propose like this. Much better ending the musical episode with this than a regular one. And the super friends song was so good haha.

edit: honestly I'd be down for Music Meister to come through once a season (or every second season) in all the DCW shows and put the characters through some sort of fantasy reality. doesn't always have to be a musical unless he works with the flash crew since they can sing. Like throw Oliver Queen in the Sherwood Forest and be Robin Hood lol, this is a fun gimmick going the star trek q route.

It's funny, I'm struggling to find an audition piece for the next musical, & then The Flash & Supergirl swoop in to save the day.

Has Malcolm Merlyn ever been on an episode of The Flash before this one? Have him and Barry ever even met before?

He's the most out of place of all the characters and if it's true that his agent just asked for him to be in the crossover then that's incredible and I love it.

He was in last year's crossover and facilitated the meeting with Savage. So yes, Barry has met him.

But the agent thing is true, go check his live stream from today.

Ok that was really good.

Cheezy as fuck...

But I think I needed some good-feels camp.

Great episode.

It made for a perfect combination: Sexist father that thinks his daughter can't make decisions, father that calls his daughter a time aberration, and Malcolm, the doting father figure to the son of his best friend.

Ah gotcha, forgot about that. I think I just purged everything involving the Hawks from my mind.

And yes his inclusion fit in perfectly. I'd love to see them swap characters between shows more often.

I was actually surprised that there were less songs than I expected. Way more normal plot than I would have guessed. Not that I think it would have been better.

Any story based developments in this episode or can I skip it?

One important event happens.

Barry and Iris are engaged again.

Yeah, relationship fixes for Barry and Kara. Which honestly is a little odd that they'd use a crossover musical episode to resolve both show's current relationship drama.

Couldn't get through the opening minutes due to how awful and cringy Mon-El is. I thought I could get away from him by quitting Supergirl, and now he shows up here. Fuck.

I would have preferred an actual superhero musical, not a romance drama musical on the 20's. Probably, it fits better in a Legends of Tomorrow episode.

TRASH?!

I don't even like musicals and I was grinning like an idiot the whole time

Mostly because of Melissa Benoist and Jessie L. Martin

This was the best Flash episode. Nothing after will beat this one. Oh god, and I totally ship Barry and Kara. Those two are just so damn good on screen. <3

Thank you!!!

Big musical theatre geek here and I loved it. Five years ago could I ever have dreamed that we'd be getting a musical episode of a live action adaptation of The Flash. It's like a crossover made in heaven for me.

Heaps of sappy cheese, a lot of fun meta moments, and Barry/Iris is restored to its former glory after that atrocious break-up in the previous episode. Looking back on it now it feels like they set that up just so he could redeem himself in a musical episode and give the show the proposal scene that it deserved. Only a song could have saved their relationship, and it fucking did.

So glad the talent in these casts finally get a chance to shine. Barrowman. Martin. Garber. Jeremy Jordan. Darren Criss was loving every second of it, I love how he just peaced the fuck out at the end of the episode after fixing the relationship drama. And we got a couple of pretty good original songs from it too.

You & me both, man.

That said, Bayonetta 2 still holds the crown for best rendition of Moon River that isn't the original. Melissa came very close, though.

I honestly can't wait to show this episode to my theatre friends, especially given the tons of theatre talent in it.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
You guys aren't familiar with Nielsen's PWM (People Who Matter) numbers?

It's a shame that Gotham's is so low but it's at least beating Agents of Shield in the PWE (People Who Exist) numbers. Networks tend to care more about that one.
