Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology announced - 3DS full remake + new scenario

Yoko Shimomura was mentioned in the Atlus presentation for this Sunday, so i assume she will return to compose/remake the ost.

I just hope they don't reuse the DS sound files.
16 kHz streams sounding terrible on anything better than DS speakers.

I bought Radiant Historia but only played it for a handful of hours. Loved it tho so looking forward to this!

That new art however. Not looking too hot, hopefully this artist can match up to the old in the end. Stocke looked like a badass before.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the new art too, esp. for Stocke. It's too clean, and Stocke is way too much of a pretty boy in it. Stocke's not a pretty boy. He's a hardened, international superspy (who wears red...) who can at best be described as mildly attractive. Given his role in the plot, it could be argued that his original portrait makes him appear too old but it fits him so well that I really don't like thinking about that.

Nice, but i'm also a bit sceptical. I LOVED the artwork from the original, but this seems a bit too loli anime for my tastes based on the small pic we have in the OP. Also I only want two things from this game:

- Different diverse expressions from characters rather than just the still image we got for all kinds of expressions in the original

- More music . There was only 25 songs in the original. I almost became insane by hearing the one we got for all the monologues and such.

I imported a Canadian version when the original was reprinted last year and still haven't played it. Hopefully I'll get round to it soon.

I hope this one has a PAL release as I can't just import an NA copy like last time.

I feel like it's either everything is being pushed back because of Persona 5 or the rest of the year will be pretty barren for Atlus USA.
Sure feels that way. I'm sure it'll happen, though. Plus, SMT V for the Switch is a thing being developed, so there's that too.

Barren for Atlus USA? They're working on quite a lot of games: Persona 5, Caligula, Utawarerumono 2&3, Valkyria Revolution, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza 6. I doubt they'd skip EO V though.

I want to believe that, but after announcing 2 visual novels I don't know what to believe anymore.

Half of those are Sega, I'm hoping for more Atlus titles, specially one as big as Etrian Odyssey.

My excitement took a bit of a hit looking at the Famitsu scans. The new artstyle seems weirdly out of place with the game; I think the rest of the cast looks even worse than new-Stocke, with Eruca being the worst. I've got a really bad feeling about the new character too, she's got Mary Sue written all over her.

Still, more Radiant Historia is more Radiant Historia. I hope it comes to NA, and I'll probably buy it when it does. Just not sure it'll stack up to the original.

The original artwork is available as DLC, at least.

I wonder how much content this third timeline will have and if we can affect that timeline by doing things in the other ones, maybe they will add new nodes to the old timelines.

Are those 3DS screens? literally looks like the same game.

Also this , only the portraits are different

Character portraits are different and the slightly higher resolution makes the textures look less like pixel soup. Other than that, yeah, more like an expanded direct port than a remake.

It's been a while since I played this game last (I still need to finish it) but this looks pretty much the same.

Will have to hear about the new scenario now before purchasing (assuming it leaves Japan), doesn't look like much of a change aside from character portraits being different.

Huh. Kinda disappointed. Not a huge fan of remakes of games less than 10 years old. But if it helps this IP get a new audience that leads to an actual sequel, then I'm ok with it.
I do appreciate ports to newer systems.

Although it does hold less water with it being ported to 3DS when the Switch just hit and the 3DS is BC. Still, neat news.

EDIT: Liked the old artwork more though.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Looks like expected - it never was going to be a full blow remake, doubt Atlus has the resources for something like this right now.

Oh, really? That's cool. I think I could get used to the new art style, but long-haired Eruca just seems wrong.
Am I reading things wrong, or is that only available via the limited edition?
But hasn't Atlus also been working on the Yakuza localizations?

I think the bolded is worth emphasizing. People overestimate the differences between Sega USA and Atlus USA now. They work on the same things seems to me, so if Sega is busy localizing, that means there's less staff to localize Atlus games. It's a bit of a raw deal for an Atlus fan who isn't interested in any Sega games.

Here, we ported that game you all liked. We even made new artworks, and somehow managed to make them worse than the originals (which are sold separately on DLC btw) ! That will be 60$ thank you.

Stocke is one of the best JRPG protags of all time, will definitely buy this if it makes it to the US.

Remake seems a little deceiving, but I don't even care.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Damn the newer art works look worse:

Think I'll still buy it if it gets localized though.

The 3D is going to be way more stable and move better just by being on the 3DS.

But uh, wow that is pretty disappointing to see. I only played a couple hours of RH and even I could tell it's almost exactly the same.
