They mention how well groomed and sharply dressed the killer was while also mentioning the victims arrest records. This shit is just mindboggling, holy fucking crap.

NY Daily News had some shit like that too but I think they edited it. Fucking embarassments.

Dehumanizing the victim is disgusting, but if the killer is still at large, an accurate description of him seems appropriate, no?

Dressing sharp has no negative associations, whereas a mention of prior arrests paints a picture that the person may have had it coming due to those priors, or deserve it. You're not wrong in that they're right to describe him, it's just that they could have left the victim's criminal history out.

The sharp-dressed suspect wanted for fatally stabbing a 66-year-old man in Hell's Kitchen turned himself in to police, authorities said.

While still going out of their way to mention Caughman's record.

Caughman, who had 11 prior arrests, staggered around the corner to the Midtown South Precinct looking for help. He died hours later after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

I agree. I probably should have had a period in there instead of a comma. "Dehumanizing the victim is disgusting" and "an accurate description is appropriate" (referring to the killer) were meant to be two separate thoughts. Talking about Timothy's arrest record is vile and mean-spirited.
