Splatoon 2 Testfire Thread: This is a port...able game now

I've had perfect connection. Gotten in to back to back games the whole time even after exiting to lobby multiple times to let the lady play. It has been a blast watching her. She won and was mvp one game and she is so bad at controlling cameras. It was pretty cool.

Yeah, that was definitley more Splatoon. I love it of course but honestly, feels exactly like the original.

Those who are sticking the Splatoon 1 won't be missing all that much. The experience is still wonderful, but there's hardly anything in the way of new content.

the problem imho is the y axis disabling on the right stick. if it was a toggle it'd probably help out a bit

Exactly, I want the motion controls to be for fine tuning my shots like in Zelda and other gyro games. The y axis disabled is especially frustrating when playing in portable mode which is all I've done today.

The motion controls are as on point as ever. So effortless and smooth.

I honestly don't get how people dont like them. At first takes some getting used to. But once you have it, man. I wish all shooters were this way.

Also getting used to the map and super jumping.

Splat is back! (never really left, but its baaaaaaaaaaack)

wow just got annihilated 26-61%. effing terrible, locked in our spawn area the entire match.

also discovered you can dive while in jetpack mode, hit squid mode! you're not just a sitting duck!

Good stuff. Played 6 games, no connection problems and tried handheld and tv mode. Good all around, I'll definitely pick the game up even though I didn't play the original very much.

I don't think motion controls are for me, though. I thought it would be like Zelda where you mostly aim with the stick and then fine tune it with motion. Seems to be all or nothing here. Only time I missed it after turning it off was aiming the jumps in map mode.

Its crazy to me that people are able to play/want to play with motion controls off. Have you guys played a game that had motion controls you did like? Did you try more than one match with motion controls? did you try split joycon?

Just curious why theres some people like me who swear by it and others who get really turned off by it.
Yeah I have a Steam controller and use motion/gyro controls all the time. The inability to adjust sensitivity on each axis independently and not being able to use the r-stick for vertical movement at all is a deal breaker for me. Its just way too sensitive.

It;s silly because I used motion controls in Gravity Rush 2 and that shit was pretty accurate, so I'm not sure why it's at least not an option.

Isn't it though? In Splatoon you've always been able to turn off motion controls like a godless heathen and play the stone age way. :p

Also I get why they moved jump to b and map to x, but so many months of splatoon 1 and the past few weeks of zelda I kee trying to squid jump and end up looking at the map -.-

Seem to be having a lot more problems with the controls in this than the originals. Can't get into them. Neither motion or the sticks feel smooth enough.

Good stuff played about 15 matches. Disabled motion controls, I couldn't figure them out using twin sticks with them. Game looks much better not-docked.

This is fantastic. I can't believe how perfect this game controls with the Pro Controller. Dualies are a wonderful addition. Does anyone else really dig the new sound direction?
