I wish Nintendo could one day patch in the ability to let me throw my materials as well as just dropping them.

Instead of wasting weapon durability on keeses, I could just throw apples at them.

It also sucks that I can't attach octoballons on sleeping enemies.

WHY WON'T YOU LET ME FULTON ENEMIES NINTENDO.

is the last part of the game really good? im asking because im kind of burned out already and only done 3 dungeons. Open world games just arent for me, and only beat Witcher 3 because there was a lot of well written plot and dialogue.

Its probably the best Zelda since Majoras Mask, but im far too depressed to play most videogames these days. The games blasé attitude toward hunting and killing kind of put me off even farther. The wildlife is mostly just standing around waiting to explode into meat pieces, even after you tame and show affection to a different mount, its still just vacuum sealed meat.
Link kind of doesn't give any fucks when his horse dies either which just furthers the whole everything is just a tool for Link, which makes him seem even more of a robot than previous games.

Hyrule Castle is great, but a lot of people have expressed disappointment at the final boss and ending.

If you're feeling burned out you could always just head straight to Ganon as you are now, you don't have to finish the last divine beast.

the whole game is depressing af, really

like the tone isn't dark, it's just empty and listless, and princess zelda definitely suffers from major depression, and nobody has any real hope or believes in your ability to solve the issue at all, and the ending
has zero celebratory feeling
, and almost nothing said is about present-tense-value but always just the last 100 years of things sucking ass and how great stuff was 100 years ago before it all went wrong

the only times anything in the game felt truly positive were when the zora prince said
you're his best friend ever, in more words,
and at the final battle when
the guardians do the mega blast

Yeah I agree its not dark. I just always overthink things to the point of ruining them. One thing that probably contributes a whole lot to the emptiness is that there is no sidekick character at all, which is probably more of a good thing but also kind of lonesome.

I mentioned it before but with the game being so open and nature themed, it would have been really cool to have like an animal familiar of choice or something.

The last part of the game was terrible. I was expecting hyrule castle to actually make up for the dungeons but it ends up being a total letdown despite the epic music. The game just ends in a big wet fart. It won't turn your opinion around.

Feel like I kinda ruined Horse stalking.

Like, the first Horse I got was a Black one with White hair after I realized I need STM feed to keep on top of it. She has 4 strgth/ 3 speed/ 4 stm.
2nd I got was a teal solid colored on with 1strgth but the same other stats.

3rd I got was
the BIG ASS HORSE.

I feel like I can't do better than the first and last so what's the point? All the wacky pattern ones are weak from the looks of it.

Now pick a horse and befriend it forever.

I havent finished the story but everything has been pretty bittersweet. Like its not outright depressing but the combination of ruins, traveling alone, the goddamn sparse emotional music,
meeting dead friends one last time
, and knowing that
your failure
is the reason the world is what it is now is kinda melancholic.

Thats why I love the little things like dogs being goofy idiots, kids running around and getting excited over insignificant things or when people go on adventures to find love. Its hopeful.

Hahaha I beat my first Lynel too. A
White maned
one. Similar costs to the battle.

I love how they just stare at you until you pull out a weapon. It feels so epic. Even the music waits for you to start the battle.

I think I got lucky because the Lynel didnt notice me at all until I started to hit it. If I got rushed like other times the cost might have been more. Still, I had to have my wits about me and I feel accomplished taking one of these guys down finally.

I had a stare down with a blue one a while back somewhere in the Ridgelands. I quickly noped out of there lol

Tip for next time: abuse stasis

No bro, we dont do stasis or arrows to the face. None of that. Just straight warriors clashing metal

Damn. I accidentally beat the game trying to find the last memory I needed. Still have about 30 shrines to go so hopefully my motivation to explore doesn't fall off seeing credits roll. What a game.

I think my fingers are going to fall off if I do the whistle running "glitch" any more but it looks hilarious.

Yea, that's what they marketed the wolf link amiibo for, no idea how well it works though.

Bet the
Camel boss
, 3 hearts there was the first time i died alot of times , a big step up from the first boss i think even the narrative pointed me to go towards.

So... which Divine Beast should I tackle first? Or does it really not matter?

I'd take on the one in the west because your prize for beating it is really useful.

Also the southwest one should be last, if only because it's my favorite area in the game.

Well I just paid way too much for a Pro controller. The joycons are way too small for me and playing the game just doesn't feel comfortable at all.

Money well spent. Like you, I found the Joycons to be far too small to hold comfortably, so I gladly dropped the $70 on the Pro Controller.

Now that I'm "done" the game is dead to me and I doubt any DLC will fix that. I went around to see if maybe I wanted to try and discover more or talk to people or farm the Lynels to get some armor upgrades but nope, didn't hold my interest at all. Not sure if I should keep it or trade it for Super Mario Maker while the value is still high.

I would bang a hot farmer!
Ya they do. But I think the game keeps track of how many you have because I can't seem to ever have more than 6.
If you have 3 or more in your inventory they won't spawn. You can get around this limitation if you
hold some and then pick them all up once the 4 new ones spawn. For example, if you have 7 in your inventory you can hold 5 of them bringing your inventory down to 2 which will cause 4 more to spawn then you can pickup them all up having a maximum of 11.

I decided to actually do the dungeons and knocked Rito and Zora out. I like the idea of the dungeons so far, and some of the puzzles are rather clever. I like the whole general concept around the dungeons and the area manipulation make puzzle-solving unique and dynamic. I feel the actual quest lead up to them is rather minute. You talk to the king, some guy asks "Wanna go to the dungeon?" and that's it. The gameplay sequences to actually get in the dungeon are pretty fun. I suppose the principal challenge is to get into the city in the first place. Also I have the Master Sword which makes the bosses way too easy, and it's not like I can waste it's energy beforehand since enemies are so sparse. So far I like the idea, but the execution isn't as deep as I would like.

After putting over 105 hours into this game I finally defeated Ganon, it is a little early to say but this might just be my favorite game in the series. I was genuinely sad when the credits rolled because I didn't want it to end.

I wish you could place more pins on the map. The map system here is a big improvement over past Zelda games, but it's not as good as creating a map by hand. Though that's less feasible now that the map is so massive and dense. I certainly don't want to trace it. An in-game map that can be stamped and pinned by the player is good, but it still feels limited since I can't mark specifically what is interesting about an area. If I find a korok puzzle that requires arrows, and mark it to return to because I have no arrows, I want to make a note of that. I want to remind myself exactly what the requirement is, so that I know to return there after I can buy or scavenge the equipment I need. I want to mark why my pins are interesting. I don't need extensive notes. A word or two would be fine. "Cool tree," "big skull," things like that. It's frustrating not having that functionality. I've started keeping a notepad to list my stamps and pins, but it is inevitably sloppy and hard to follow because "star in Hebra region" is only useful as long as there is a single star. "Westmost star in Hebra region" is useful only as long as I don't place a star further west. There is a lot of info to keep track of, and mapreading becomes a confusing mess because of the lack of info and the density of points of interest.

This is the first open world game I have ever played and I am finding it a little overwhelming just how big it is! Since i'm used to the more linear style Zelda games I am currently feeling a little lost, so can anyone tell me where I should be going next?

I unlocked the camera, and took a picture of the Great Fairy near Kakariko Village for Pikango, then went to Lanayru Roads East Gate to unlock the first memory, and then went to see Impa and have been given the Champion's Tunic.

I thought the next place I should be going was back to Lanayru Roads East Gate, but that ended up with Link being killed by a powerful minotaur(?) so i'm guessing thats meant to be for later. There just doesnt seem to be an obvious place I should be aiming towards?

If I should just just be wandering everywhere then thats fine, its just I usually prefer to complete the dungeons/main quest in the correct order.

Which one? The one in Hateno hints that you don't need to use motion control to complete it.

Ive done it now anyway, how would you do it with no motion control? Magnet doesn't work on it.

I did like how you had to
position the board to jump on it yourself to get the treasure
. But yeah that was pretty shit, I hope there arent many of those.

I love how the map in itself is already an integral part of the exploration experience. Everything is named, so NPCs telling you that <certain thing> is in a certain direction from them, you can reliably trace it and find out where to go. All without the glowing marker of "content is here".

And even without a quest, the map tells tales and shows areas of interest if you take the time to scan it. Enemy encampments are identifiable by their skulls, certain ponds have intriguing shapes, giant fossils bones are visible, ruins can be found, labyrinths are visible. And chances always are that you'll discover a dozen other things when you head a certain way.

Jump to the platform, then use stasis.

There's no correct order in this game. Go where you want!

There is no such thing. The closest to the first settlements is probably the
Zora dungeon.
Gives you an ability that easily saves your life, so it's pretty useful early on.

On the other hand, there is a dungeon that allows you more offensive capabilities and one that improves your abilities to traverse terrain tremendously. But you can take them on in any order, including ignoring them. You'll have to make your own agenda in this game. If you wait to get the content placed in your path, you might end up disappointed.

A good thing is to look around and decide on a landmark in the distance that you want to investigate. Towers and shrines being the obvious candidates.

The game kinda directs you towards the Zora dungeon first but I found the Goron one to be the easiest of them all. So if you're really lost, you can always look for Death Mountain in the distance as a good first goal. Just make sure to talk to people on your way there.

oh. Just saw someone make a
ice bridge
to get korok seed, and realised you can use the
ice
anyware. I really need to start thinking outside the box, I was trying to get to a shrine out in the
middle of the sea and didnt have enough stamina food, then I thought about climbing the huge cliff above it and gliding down to it (which I was going to but its fr so I got sidetracked), but you can totally just ice your way over there cnat you, if you just create block after block and break the previous ones.
Goddamn it.
