Everything is cranked up a thousand percent. He probably can't tiptoe without creating sparks.

Its Ok i guess? Still look like an last gen unreal game with the lack of color, so glad the new unreal can produce colorful games.

I'll never get the constant complaints about how dark it looks visually. Like, why does that possibly matter? "Dark" was the least of the previous movies' problems. A comic book movie can look dark. It can take place more at night than day. That shouldn't be a complaint.

Why the way the movie looks visually matter? Gee I don't know, maybe because it's a movie? It's a visual medium.

The problem isn't just that it looks "dark". But that the dark and grey tones are so pervasive that it looks as if the movie has been dessaturated of colours. The most obvious examples of this are the main characters themselves, WW and Aqua Man's colours are so toned down that they almost blend in with the grey enviroments.

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.

They're bad comparisons btw considering my favorite shot in Logan is like a 20 second shot of him swinging a shovel at a car in an increasingly ineffective manner

This post gets it,

People ITT confusing CG hybrid shots with art-house cinematography.

Logan is not the film to bring to this discussion.

The fuck?

Logan is a ridiculously good movie (with actual charcters, no less) but the CGI in that Mexico limo chase is goddamn laughable.

Snyder has the best eye for style, that's just a goddamn empirical fact.

He's like John Woo or some shit.

Makes everything else look amateur hour.

Whatever. His gray color and habit to composite absolutely everything kind of ruins his efforts IMO.

He also doesn't know how to have strong artistic direction.

Look at Burton's Gotham

The atmosphere is incomparable.

Dunno, they're both western comic book action movies I think you can absolutely compare about them. The cinematography in Logan makes better use of color, light, framing to actually tell a story, etc. Even if you wanna arbitrarily handicap Logan and limit the cinematography to the action scenes it's better there, too, since the camera is used to ground the action in tension inherent to the scene rather than do some misguided attempt to translate comic book splash panels directly to the screen for maximum "cool".

Just compare the first big action scene in Logan that escalates in the SUV chase and meanwhile Snyder is doing random slow motion dolly shots to close ups of all his characters looking mildly concerned like he about to edit some kuleshov effect montage.

Alright.

Who's the guy that thought having having the color palette be mostly blue and gray and THEN have action scenes take place at night with heavy shadows was a good idea?

Snyder really went overboard with this consistent visual style. Aren't Parademons usually gold looking? Also, nobody in the league besides Wonder Woman has a distinct visual style. Aquaman gets blue toned scenes, Flash too, Cyborg too, Batman too. It's most egregious for flash since he's wearing a red costume but the blue tones drown it out.

I'm kind of disappointed. The comics are much more colorful than this.

Is Gallery Gadot only capable of making one facial expression? Cyborg CGI looks very rough. I'm not exited for this movie but I'll probably still go watch it.

What? "Dark" doesn't make a movie worse visually. It has just as much merit as a brightly lit movie. I haven't see anybody say why it being dark makes it worse, but rather they're just complaining that it's dark.

The substance should dictate the style. Snyders movies have lost the plot a while ago and are dictated by the style.

Didn't completely blow my socks off the way the early BvS trailers did but it still looks good. I'm definitely hyped. After the criticisms that maybe BvS trailers showed a little too much I think they are going down the 'less is more' route.

Though, in all honesty, at this point WB can't win with those who just want to shit all over it with non sensical criticisms (copying Marvel's banter ?!?!?!!?!?) so they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Might as well have 'WB do WB' and try and make the best film they can.

This is just the first trailer for a film that comes out in November so of course they are going to pull their punches. But it's clear that Suicide Squad's success has influences the marketing on this trailer with the song choices.

The scale of the this picture, in what little we already see, looks incredible. Is that Darkseid's soldiers being dropped off in spaceships on Apokolips? This could be the film that really opens up an shows the vast scale of the DCU (space, Atlantis, New Gods?!) and there's no one better equipped to do those stunning visuals than Snyder..., as long as he has a hand with the narrative.

I also didn't expect Aquaman to be so..., uh..., Wolverine. It works though. The 'dressed as a Bat' line got a laugh from me.

Yeah. Not a classic but a good first trailer.

I'm so apathetic about these movies anymore.

I want to write something about the trailer, but I just can't manage to conjure up anything beyond a shrug.

Barely even that. It's like they found the formula for emotional flatlining and beamed it into my brain.

Okay, well see you in 70+ page OT of people saying how disappointed they were with the movie.

Sure. I look forward to you strutting around like a douchebag wagging your finger at people saying I told you so while the rest of the thread kneels down, puts their hands together and begs for your forgiveness. Ass.

Its really lacking in colours.

Green screen effect in this shot is really bad. Especially Aquaman

Easily the worst shot in the trailer.

Needs retouching and have the lighting tweaked cause Cyborg and Aquaman (mostly) are just blending into the background.

Just got up from my nap.

God damn. Introduction to the league members trailer. Some shit´s gonna go down, so they gotta unite. Alright. More story focused trailer will probably come later.

Looks sick. That amazonian army gonna fuck shit up. Also..... does batman have a fucking Gundam?! I laughed, cause that´s great.

Comparing Snyder to John Woo? Lmao.

Didn't we already go over this in another thread?

I updated my post.

But for me, I can summarize it like this - It's boring as fuck visually when everything looks as if it's has the colours sucked right out of it.

Here's the thing right, it would totally work for a Batman solo film. Night, black and grey, that's sorta his visual themes a lot of the time

But the justice league tends to looks more like this colourwise -

So it makes no sense to me that this is what the movie version has to look like -

Boring trailer. No story whatsoever in it. The only thing I got is 5 people to fight a "threat" in pretty CGI. Also the "jokes" were really bad.

Considering BvS, the story is part that I'm worried about, I don't give a fuck about the CGI, I want to know more about the story. This trailer feels like WB and Synder didn't learn a thing from BvS.

So how are they going to nerf Flash so that he doesn't beat everyone alone in a minute? Seems that he is rather X-men movie quicksilver fast than AoU movie quicksilver fast.

Looking forward to it.
