I feel like there are all these new shows popping everywhere on Netflix and Amazon Prime. It was too much to track so I only really payed attention to Netflix's shows since they got more buzz and generally had some great ones. But now I kind don't have anything to watch on Netflix so I want to know what are some must watch on Amazon Prime Originals. None of them pop out to me all that much. I tried watching The Man in the High Castle but it felt cheap.

Any recommendations

Nope, Man in the High Castle is the best thing on Amazon. It's so good. Season 2 is even better than the first. Stick with it.

That JCVD show when they finally release it.

I think Amazon has a really good library of shows. They (Amazon) have really impressed me.

Another vote for Man in High Castle.

The first season takes some time to get going, but it takes a turn half way through and gets very interesting. The second season is incredible too.

Tumbleleaf, my kids absolutely love it.

Serious answer is Man in the High Castle, but I'm excited for The Tick and Jean Claude Van Johnson when they finally drop.

Fleabag, though technically a BBC thing they bought the rights for I think. Season 2 getting made soonish. Phoebe Waller-Bridge's star is going to rise over the next few years I'd wager.

A lot of their actual original productions feel a little on the generic side. Like I watched that Ron Perlman one, which has a bunch of actors I love like Garret Dillahunt but it was dull and I've forgotten like everything about it already.

Transparent is the most critically acclaimed. I respect the show but find it difficult to watch due to its aggressively unlikable cast.

Transparent is good, though I'm not as big a fan of it as others. I think the first two seasons were fantastic, but a couple gems aside, this past season felt like it was stalling out a bit.

I really like Catastrophe. Half-hour comedy-dramas about relationships are a dime a dozen now, but this one is probably my favorite of the bunch.

Mozart in the Jungle is fun, though don't expect to start talking about it with people, because fucking NOBODY watches that show. My girlfriend and I are the only people we know who've seen it.

I think those are the only original series that we keep up with. I got bored with Man in the High Castle and Red Oaks didn't really land for me.

Patriot is an intense dark comedy political thing. It's stunning.

Seconding this^

Patriot is fucking awesome. Everyone who hasn't seen it needs to stop whatever shit they're watching right now and go see it. Especially if they already have a prime account.

As far as homegrown series go, Transparent is far and away the most highly regarded. One Mississippi, Sneaky Pete, Mozart in the Jungle, and Bosch have also built solid reputations.

In terms of their imported series, Catastrophe and Fleabag have received universal acclaim.

for me it's bosch

it's very much a procedural that reflects its pulp novel roots, but it's well-made and has a good LA feel

I agree with everyone else saying season 2 of Man in the High Castle is better than the first. My favorite Amazon show though is easily Bosch.

As a musician who wants to move to NYC, I find Mozart in the Jungle to be fantastic.

Man in the High Castle is also really good.

all good things
I've been watching patriot for the last week with my girlfriend. It's really great. Its dark, sad and funny at the same time.

Not an Amazon original but I watched a show called Brain Dead on there. Weird show about alien bugs eating the brains of congress members. It originally aired on CBS of all things, but it was surprisingly great.

Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street. It is the heir to The Adventures of Pete and Pete you have been waiting, it is a bit less zany in tone but still so, so good. Trailer

of the ones ive seen

Transparent >>>>> Sneaky Pete >>> Man in the High Castle >>> Mozart in the Jungle

Transparent is like an A- show, Sneaky Pete a B/B+ show, Man in the High Castle a B-/C+ show, and Mozart in the Jungle was like a C+/C show

Mozart in the Jungle is fun (at least the first season, the only one I've seen) but it's not a particularly realistic view of life in a symphony.

(But to be fair, that would probably make for a very boring television show...)

The second season of Man in the High Castle was kind of a let down. Anyway, I know some have mentioned it already but Goliath was a surprisingly good show.

Mozart definitely my favorite. Especially since I love orchestra dramas which are very hard to come by. Its like an american Nodame Cantabile except the guy is already a conducter but acts like Nodame.

Season 1 of Red Oaks was great too but I got bored and stopped watching season 2. The first season kind of does jump the shark for one episode though.

Just finished Sneaky Pete the other day and it's my favorite so far. I still need to watch the second season of Man in the High Castle though.

I still need to watch the Season 2 of The Man in the High Castle, the first one started slow but I liked it towards the end. Some of the aesthic stuff was pretty cool.

If they wanted people to watch Man In The High Castle then they should have done a better job with the first season. I'm not going to slog through hours of mediocre TV just to get to the good stuff.

Sneaky Pete.

Haven't seen Patriot though...will check it out.

Haven't seen season 2 of Man in the High Castle but I watched all of the first and found it to be all style, little substance.
