“Fallout,” the post-apocalyptic series debuting this week on Amazon Prime, is expected to relocate to California for its second season, thanks to $25 million in California tax credits. The California Film Commission announced Monday that it has awarded $152 million in tax incentives to a dozen TV shows.

The list also includes two shows from Ryan Murphy, “Dr. Odyssey” on ABC and “Grotesquerie” on FX, as well as “NCIS: Origins,” a prequel show due out next season on CBS.

“Fallout” has the largest budget of any of the shows, at $153 million in qualified expenditures for the season. The first season was produced mostly in New York, with some filming in Utah.

Not the most expensive Amazon show though right? Didn't the LOTR show cost £200mil+ or was that factoring in acquiring the rights?

Going off this one Hollywood Reporter article: $465 Million (NZ$650 million).

Fingers crossed the budget for Fallout was better spent; Rings of Power is easily the most over-produced and under-developed TV show ever made.

Completely Unreasonable
Xbox are crazy if they're not pulling out all the stops to get one of the classic Fallout games reskinned and looking fancy to cash in on the interest in the show ASAP.

From what i've seen so far, i'm happy about this, as long as the writing puts the source material first and keeps the Fallout feel and vibe i'm good.

They should just pull the plug on Lotr already, and divert funds to this and Invincible. That lotr series has just zero hype and staying power

Bwilliant news.
The title is misleading. The show has not been renewed for the second season, so California tax credit is mostly "what if", IF the show gets renewed they will film in California.

Note, the chance it gets renewed is probably 99%, but you never know.
