I got my ticket for the Hype Train. Can't wait to see what nintendo has for us this year! Open World Metriod Prime 4 please.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
my guesses:

likely:
pikmin 4
super smash bros. 4 switch
pokemon stars

50/50:
retro's game
bayonetta 3

unlikely:
2d mario / super mario maker 2
beyond good & evil 2
disgaea 6: cool ghosts

basically, the focus at e3 should be through march 2018 or at latest, june 2018. i feel like 2017 is pretty full and we'll probably see retro's next thing in 2018 even if it's already done.

Yeah that seems pretty realistic. There are other possibilities- Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, but I could see those announced at a fall Japan-focused event or direct.

The E3 at the very least needs to be 2014-caliber if it wants to be considered "big." 2015 was a major disappointment and then 2016 was good, but it was just Zelda for the most part. They have to have been working on a good few things since then. I'm gonna trust Reggie on this one.

If this isn't at E3 I'm going to be so salty that you could shake me and bring a Mii back to life. (Yes, that is a gameplay mechanic joke/reference, and yes, I made it on purpose.)

Only post in the entire thread that even mentioned Miitopia, too. So I'm sure it'll sell like gangbusters.

I am interested in finding out what other end of life 3DS games we'll be getting. And I'm sure the Switch lineup will be nice considering it is still sold out everywhere. Wonder if we'll get to see any Dragon Quest XI in English, though I guess that's up to S-E unless Nintendo is handling the localization again.

The possibility of Retro delivering a new DK game instead of Metroid...these are dark times. I still remember the one-two punch of Prime/Fusion. And then Zero Mission not too long after.

I guess there are fans for both of these and I really don't want to deny anyone a potential Donkey Kong game, just like nobody should deny us a Metroid one. The next quote sounds interesting, though:

According to rumors Retro is making everything lol. Some have said it's a new IP or it's an IP that's not Metroid or DK. Then you had Retro post pictures of Prime ribs on twitter lol

One can only hope. Don't know about Retro's size and if they could make and release both relatively close. One project would probably release later, if they have to move teams and ressources arround.

To be fair, the job listing that Game Freak put up is likely for Gen 8 since the contract job is for until May 2018. You do have a point with the other 3, especially the last bullet point.

I dont think that he said exactly that, but rather that if they were to make a Pokemon game primarily for Switch, it would be handled differently compared to how they did it with portable titles. That could be anything really. I cant see the game will be dramatically different. The Switch is afterall the successor to the 3DS. That said, a Pokemon game will be released for the Switch, that is a given at least.

I must have misread both. Sorry and thanks for correcting me.

I have no idea what to expect from Nintendo this E3 besides the stuff we already know ( mario, splatoon Xeno 2 etc.). I hope to be positively suprised!

I have a feeling we may see a revised 3DS or a 3DS baring a more switch look (dual analogs and logo perhaps).

Also think we may see more surprises game-wise than we think. Maybe less last hurrah, and more continuation of 3DS software consistency.

Sounds good Reggie I would really love some games for my Switch but show us at E3 don't just tell us they're coming.

Dream E3 list for Switch:

- A Mario party that's actually good
- Metroid
- Phoenix Wright
- Pokemon
- Donkey Kong (3D or 2D platformer)
- Warioware Switch
- Luigi's Mansion
- New 2D Mario
- Virtual Console everything (Wii, GC, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, etc.)
- Software Update that adds Youtube, Netflix, Game save backups, A Web browser, A Daily Log, External HDD support, etc.

Actual E3 list for Switch:

- New Super Mario Odyssey trailer
- Skyrim gameplay trailer
- A couple 3rd party game announcements (a couple of ports and 1 or 2 exclusives)
- New release dates for already announced games
- A video about new features coming to Switch with the next update (Youtube, game save backups, web browser, etc.)
- Virtual Console will slowly roll out like the WiiU with the first game included with your "Nintendo Switch Online Service" Subscription
- A bunch of mediocre indie and japanese ports
- A couple new 3DS games that no one really cares about
- Right at the end an extremely small teaser for a new Metroid game, I'm talking like 15-30 sec

Nah, no worries :) I just wanted to say that the statement that the guy from Game Freak made was more about Pokemon coming to Switch in general. It doesnt talk against a potential Stars version, but it might not talk too much for a Starts version directly being on Switch as well.

This guy lies through his teeth and doesn't take any responsibility for it when questioned about it. Their previous e3s were not big, he started his statement with a lie.

I've bought my switch but he's the last person I believe in terms of thier trajectory.

Not going to hype myself up 3 months before E3 over some PR speak. Nintendo has really disappointed since 2007 so I'm not holding my breath but would love to see a conference that is "core-game" centric and not ruined by leaks.

Retro's next game is going to bomb because metroid fans will mercilessly shit on it if it's anything but prime 4, leading to the negative reaction to completely overshadow the game itself.

A rumour that is supported by:

- Gamefreak hiring people for Pokemon on Switch.
- Gamefreak saying that Pokemon on Swich will change Pokemon forever.
- Eurogamer and other sources being very confident in it.
- In game code in Sun/Moon, where Pokemon follow you arround.

Now now, let's not hyperbolise here. If Stars is coming as per the rumour, then the job listings now are irrelevant as the game would need to be done and in testing towards this point.

I had literally never heard of Miitopia before, what the fuck??

Also, it's very easy to do this, but this has gotten me hyped for Nintendo's E3. I just want to see Odyssey, Retro's Game, and some other little/third party stuff to buff out the fall if Retro isn't 2017.

Speaking of Pokemon Stars, Dont the reveals usually happen before E3? So maybe as early as the next few weeks we might get a reveal?

lol. When has Reggie NOT said there wasn't going to be a big E3 for Nintendo. Shit, as a Switch owner I just got worried when I read that line.

That said, with the success I expect some interesting and fun titles/ports from third parties.

Stop it Reggie, no more 3ds! That aside i can't wait for E3 on the nintendo side :) Conversely I start to cold sweat every time I look at my xbox one, please be good :(

Typically, yeah (at least in recent years). I wouldn't be surprised if we got our Stars reveal (if it's real) in the next month or two.

I doubt Reggie has any idea of what will be presented in E3, specially because there have been several times where the presentation changed last minute.

In fact, I doubt Reggie has any idea of what is going on in Nintendo Japan, and he has been proved to be a pathological liar.

Im quite tired of his bullshit.

Reggie Trump: Our showing this year will be huge. Huuuugggee. There's nobody bigger or better at Nintendo than I am.

Back in 2014 I thought for sure they would've announced a new Metroid just before the Switch launched. This was before Federation Force was first showed but still.

If they don't show something before the end of the year I'm going to eat crow so bad.

I wonder if they intentionally delayed the Super Smash Bros 4 "port" announcement so that they could add in enough substantial content to call it Super Smash Bros 5 (a la Splatoon).
