Destiny 2 is a really dumb name.

I think if they called it anything else, people would of just assumed it was another expansion pack or something. Calling it 2 was letting people know that it's a sucsessor first and foremost.

I hope it's good though, I beat the first one and basically best the dlc all once and alone, sold it and that was it. It wasn't terrible, but just kinda boring after I beat the small story. So I really hope this one builds bigger on the story, cutscenes, world and other massive locations.

I thought Destiny and the sequels were both part of the ten year plan. It was always supposed to be Destiny, Destiny expansion, Destiny 2, Destiny 2 expansion, Destiny 3, Destiny 3 expansion, Destiny 4, Destiny 4 expansion.

The plan got weird as soon as you got a second expansion to Destiny

Unless I misunderstood, they never said anything like Destiny 1 would be a 10 year game. The Destiny franchise had a 10 year plan, but I always thought it was fairly clear that would include multiple games, not one game that would get updated for 10 years.

Yaaasss!! Belter!! Destiny 2 has to be the name to keep it clear it's a proper sequel and not a content update, though I would love a mysterious or otherwise intriguing subtitle. Still, I'm so preordering the highest priced edition. Missed out on the ghost edition first time around and I'm still sad.
