I love his work alone but his voice is nasally and his features on other people's stuff is among the worst there is on the radio today
I like his features like on Miguel's song and even that Adam Levine song. Then only one I thought was meh was with Taylor Swift. I don't really think these features are Kendricks thing. It's just what your label forces you to do when you're their big rap star and it's the only way Kendrick can stay on the radio because his songs aren't really played unless it's on urban stations

Kanye West.

I love hiphop and rnb. But I really don't see the appeal.

For me, it's definitely Kanye West.

His music does absolutely nothing for me and i'm a hardcore hip-hop fan, 90's style shit, boom bap jazzy beats and all that funk not the stuff Kanye or these "new generation" rappers do.
Agreed. He has some amazing pieces like Runaway and Gold Digger and Black Skinhead that prove he is very talented musically, but overall his albums are overrated and a lot of it Banks on you already agreeing with him when he calls himself a genius which is a turn off

Beyonce, Luke Bryan, Ed Sheeran(x100000000), Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch (worst band on the planet) and U2

Oh and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Good to get all of this off my chest.

Interpol

They always been a shitty band. Never understood the love the have.

They had that one album (their first one), they were positioned in the right place (NYC in the early 00s) at the right time (right as both the whole post-punk and garage rock revivals kicked off). Do people still even talk about them that much?

wait... people are not saying the music they don't like is overrated right? For me those are not the same things.

I mean i don't listen to Prince but i would never in a million years say he's overrated. He was talented as fuck but his style is not what i prefer. I don't understand how you can think legends like MJ, Beatles, Prince etc. are overrated, i mean you don't have to like it to recognize greatness.

Agreed. There a tons of bands and artists I dislike but are undeniably supremely talented. Prince, Radiohead, Dream Theater...

Currently Drake. I've jammed to many of his hits but his most recent album? My god, I can't find a single track to enjoy.

I should preface that I no longer enjoy rap like I once did. I primarily look for club bangers (One Dance and Controlla, if I am using Drake as an example) that have phenomenal beats and melodies. There exists not one track on his latest album that matches my criteria. I'm pretty upset by that.

Kanye West is another one. I thoroughly enjoyed his albums through MBDTF, but after that he just cratered to me. I don't like any of his recent music. None of it.

Didn't like passion fruit or kmt? Kinda bang in different ways

Yep. I can't stand to listen to anything Bruno Mars writes, but he is a very talented artist.

This is where I'm coming from. I can appreciate talent and influence without being a fan. You'd have to be either a child or out of your mind to think that Prince was just some hack and his fans are merely inflating his legacy.

Frank Ocean. I don't understand the acclaim at all. Not saying he isn't a good musician, but I found both albums to be ridiculously boring and forgettable. I tried with Channel Orange and then again with Blondie, but neither clicked for me. I even enjoyed Usher's latest album a lot more :/

Drake. I mean I like some of his songs but only because of their production. So he is good at choosing the right producers, I'll give him that. But whenever I listen to his stuff I just think "man this song would be much better with someone else rapping in it".

Well usher is a legend...

Beyonce, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Monica, the majority of modern rap.

I have been able to enjoy fan mixes of Beyonce, Rihanna, and Arianna Grande though. Makes me wish that was their actual style.

Jack White

I like him, but it feels like his popularity has grown exponentially from the end of the White Stripes through his solo career.

Yet it feels like he's been coasting musically for a decade now.

Nirvana

When I was in elementary everyone loved Nirvana. I guess I liked them because they sounded pretty good, and everyone else liked them so I though I was supposed to like them as well. Kurt Cobain had just died, so I guess that added to it. Then I started catching music videos and shit on TV from Pear Jam, Sound Garden, RHCP, etc. I didn't even know shit about rock at the time, but it was like "WTF, these guys sound way better".

I think J Cole is fine but I don't he's one of the best this generation. I see the J Cole lullaby trash meme online and shit but he's really big for some reason in most other circles.

the only good Nine Inch Nails songs are their singles and even then they're still boring as fuck

same with radiohead

basically the same band

Adele: don't get me wrong she's really talented, but people act like she's life changing. I found her last album to be kind of boring

Beyoncé: new Beyoncé, not old Beyoncé. I really liked the Sasha fierce and Bday. But lately her stuff has done nothing for me at all

Frank Ocean: loved nostalgia ultra and Channel Orange. I thought blond was garbage, coming from a fan of his previous work. If that makes sense.

Beyonce and Tom Petty are the two most overrated, over-celebrated artists I can think of.

I think Petty as a bunch of classic songs, but there have been some periods in time where he became over exposed. I wouldn't say overrated as much as over appreciated.

The Foo Fighters. They go into the studio and just produce the shit out of their records so that they lose all of their edge. It's the opposite to what a shouty rock band should be doing.

I do quite like Everlong though.
