Currently at the airport eating a really good toastie and staring at the aeroplanes out the big windows, it's actually calming me down a bit. Hoping for a safe and smooth flight.

I don't need need a new computer monitor, but were I to get one, what would be a cool thing to start thinking about?

this asus monitor, the buttons on the front don't actually work anymore

Just don't do what I've done and buy because it looks cool. Sitting with TWO UltraWidescreen Dell and Asus GSync when I only need one. Not to mention the 27'' 1080p I have for PS4. But I won't put them on ebay because they cost a ton and can't bring myself to do it and they are so pretty!

Moral is: buy to your needs :) And get UltraWidescreen.

I need to look into it too, as with my current monitor I have some burnin from the windows menu bar.

Probably will just go with whatever Dell Ultrasharp my budget can afford.

Dropped my hospital insurance yesterday.
If I'm going to be paying extra I want it to go to the health service I will actually use.

I noticed on the flier they're not listed as only Aus show so a Melbourne side show is almost certain. Sigur Ros should be much better in that context as well.

Still, the Splendour line up can't compare with the last time I went (2010). That lineup was absurd (LCD Sound System played, but weren't even close to being headliners for example)

well how about an NA/CA copy :p

some of the sites like OZgameshop carry AU stock at times and often mark them as such
some times tho local distrubted copys of games are just stickerd imported stock tho as well
i like collecting games as well :) but i have long given up on paying a premeuim for matching spines/ rating logos or buying games that i dont want to play( mostly only buy stuff i want to play)

also Gerry seems to be having a great time

Dammit, went and picked up a copy of Horizon Zero Dawn from the closest JBHifi and grabbed a cheap copy of Sunshine Blu Ray on the way out but they didn't unlock the magnetic slidey thing. Now I have to either go back or smash my way in as I can't find any magnets strong enough.

Who the hell still uses those sliding locks anymore, haven't seen one in years.

er, about that discount.

When I lived in the US, Amazon prices on games was generally the same price as most stores. Any discounts on games and movies were generally down to pricematching or occasional loss leaders. Now in the UK, its the same deal. I most most stuff from amazon because the prices are competitive (plus I have already paid for Prime). The groceries thing is pretty useless- Amazon Pantry- because they charge you on top of that for a box. When you buy any grocery item listed as being on pantry, they start a box and each item you add to your box reduces the capacity of that box (80%, 72% etc), once the box is filled and you keep adding items, they start another box and of course, you pay a 3 pounds for the first box and 1 pound for each subsequent box (no discount for Prime since you have to be a Prime member to start with).

So, occasional promo aside, I really wouldn't expect games pricing any better than you already see at JB or Big W (unless one of them starts a pricing war, which I wouldn't put it past them to do).

I don't think JB and Big W have that much to worry about but Gerry Harvey will.

Saw Ghost In The Shell tonight, and really enjoyed it. It had great 3D, and I thought it was very considerate of the source material even if it wasn't an exact remake of the original.

16GB DDR3 RAM
Couple of 27'' 1080p monitors

Probably a ton of other stuff/cpu coolers i've hoarded over the years :)

I got a panicked call from Mrs Squirrel to tell me that our shed flooded. She managed to save our lawnmower and got the electrical stuff off the bottom shelf but it looks like our son's cot and toddler bed might have water damage.

Hopefully that's the worst of it :/

dont have a UHD player yet ( wish the Pro had one) and am holding off on an Oled till i can get a good Price the higherend oleds that are currently all on clearnce ...

Anyone know the youtube channel for that Aussie guy that has an INSANE massive collection of arcade cabinets, every console ever released and a ton of expensive sports cars? He was known for having to move houses all the time because "he's ran out of room" (to fit in his giant collection). Want to show someone.
