Not really sure if this a good "gotcha" burn. He ran a successful patreon and now gets to make a living doing what he wants to do.

Let's be real. Palmer is very likely not happy and will likely not be happy again for a long time. Fat stacks of cash or no.
He didn't get into VR and create the Rift because he wanted to make a buck. He did it because he had an incredible passion for the technology. Now he's been ousted from the (massive and hugely influential) company he founded. Removed from the work that drove him. I'm sure that creates an emptiness unlike many of us have ever experienced.
