Yes. Why wouldn't he? It's the same character lol
I'm talking about the depiction of the character. The Cayde in the trailer is full 100% comic relief. My point is that I don't want Cayde to be like that in Destiny 2. I hope they haven't taken the positive response to Cayde being a good comic relief in TTK to mean they should make him into Fozzy the Bear.

"hello?" "this is vagina"
Just watched it, I enjoyed it. The contrast between the serious, po faced speech and Cayde's was a clear bit of self-deprecation riffing off the old, dull launch of Destiny vs the fun, post-TTK game.

It's a trailer. It's not a synopsis of the entire game by any means. I think the worry is premature. Let's see what we get in May before we get up in arms

That's some serious hyperbole... I get that comedy won't hit for everyone but Fozzy the Bear?

I guess that if they're doing a stream it's gonna be more than a simple trailer. Specially thinking we might start hearing previews in april.

I forgot about the April preview thing already! I'm thinking we have a strong chance of Destiny 2 being the Game Informer cover story. That means we're only a week or so away from some new details.

I believe the mission that started the Cabal invasion is called outward bound. Excellent mission. If you still play go give it a play through. Excellent trailer. Will request a few days off for this.

God damnit. We've had a teaser for a CGI trailer, which was a teaser for another CGI trailer, which was the teaser for the gameplay trailer. I hate modern reveals.

(PlayStation®Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription, respectively, required for significant features)

That it says is required for significant features and not just straight out saying "is required" has me hopeful for something for those who have no or poor internet connections.

FYI - CDKEYS are currently selling pre-order keys at £34 already. Usually cheapest place to buy before release in my experience

And if you decide before release you don't want the key, you can get at refund in 24/48 hours. So if you find it cheaper, cancel and re-order :)

The teaser was one thing, but then they doubled down on the humor in the reveal trailer, honestly don't blame people who look at those two things and make some assumptions about setting, characters and tone of the game. I'm still waiting for the gameplay footage personally, but I do think it's a weird trailer tonally given the setting.

I kinda want to say this as well. I feel like people who enjoyed Destiny 1 might be forgetting how criticism of the first game got completely shot down as premature or unwarranted. A lot of those worries turned out to be true

It's like Zavala wasn't in the reveal at all.

Looks like it's a European code, though.

CDKeys really upping their game I see, getting game 1 month before its release.

Huh. So it's confirmed to be on Steam? Can you claim the beta code and do a Steam refund?

There hasn't been a PC beta announcement nor a Steam announcement. So whether this is just a quick cash in for CDKEYS or not is another question, or they might just know a little more and slipped.

However I've used them for a few years now and never had a problem. My refund went into my bank in 6 hours when I refunded ME:A a few days before it came out!

Steam doesn't refund games purchased via third parties (i.e. from code sites like CDKeys), they only refund for games purchased directly through their platform.

In this case, you'd have to get a refund from CDKeys themselves.

The mixed tone may not have resonated with everyone, but the hyperbole and worry seem to be beyond overblown. We have no in game anything. Cayde will likely be who he always was. We will see though.

We will, I agree with you. Not everyone sees it that way though, which I can also understand.

It's like people saying it's dude bro because experience aren't on the cover, how do you know that? There's wondering and there's wild leaps that are occurring in here. People have said there will only be 2 classes now because they couldn't tell the 3rd character on the cover was a warlock. I'm just saying assumptions are being made all over.

Did Bungie ever give a reason as to why the first never got released on PC? I've seen so many people invoke hacking etc. as a problem that may face the current PC release and I'm wondering if this was behind their unwillingness to release the first on that platform.

From the Beta FAQ
Which platforms can I choose from?

Destiny 2 is available for pre-order on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Beta will be available on all three platforms. Your Destiny 2 Beta Code will grant you access to one of these platforms.

I'll keep posting this until you lot stop

Y'know, I watched the trailer again and it's not jarring at all, he quips twice, the first time isn't even intentional, he legit can't remember the name of the main boss and second time it's a meta loot reference. Seriously, you lot are dipping and dapping and don't know what's happening.

Cayde is actually being serious about protecting what's left and fighting back, "if I don't see you out there, *unsheathes blade* I'll kill you myself".

But they can and did.

Again, your outlook on this trailer does not apply to everyone. This trailer worked for far more people than it didn't.

Enough. Jesus Christ.

This is my opinion and I'm stating it. Stop trying to force me to drink the koolaid. Enough. Jesus Christ.

Game had very troubled development cycle and very poor content creation tools, understandable that they didn't have time and/or will to start port them over to PC.

Your hyperbole only hurts your own argument. You keep trying to say the same thing but everytime your refuted you keep going. It seem like it happens with you in all destiny threads.

I doubt he will.

Not Fozzy the Bear as if he is never funny. I mean Fozzy the Bear as in any time he talks he feels the need to crack a joke. For me, a character that is that one dimensional is very dull. The humor wears out much faster that way.

Why can't we transfer characters with their stuff but it is badly damaged by the attack? So that our armor and weapons could transfer but are on the level as early game equipment with options to repair.

I just want to keep the looks of my characterssss...

It's more a marketing choice more than anything, specifically for a game that was lambasted for having no memorable characters, it makes sense to feature a character that has immediate personality.

So just to make sure, you've backed off the argument that the tone is "anything goes" and just like Borderlands?

Borderlands is just a frame of reference. It's more Borderlands wacky than action adventure. Look, this trailer is a caricature of what Destiny was. The game may be fun (D1's gameplay was great), but this is worse than a Saturday morning cartoon, this is just goofy. Humanity just lost everything, even a comicrelief character would tone it down for a bit. Cayde-6 is like a standup comedian in the trailer. Or, you know, Claptrap ;D

You won't stop posting your view until I change my view? Why? I disagree with you that Cayde is being serious in that trailer. He is a full-on fourth-wall comic relief caricature of himself in that trailer. I don't really care if that is solely done for this trailer. Wish they showed more that was representative of the game, but whatever. If Cayde in Destiny 2 is going to be like how he is in that trailer, then I won't like the tone for the game. I liked how he was a funny character in Destiny, but I don't want him to just be a joke machine.
Zavala's dialogue is the Destiny I wanted to play. Unfortunately though, Cayde's dialogue is the Destiny Bungie seems to want to make.
I agree with this. I would rather Destiny 2 make good on its epic tale that the original promised than them simply embracing it being a shooter loot game with goofy dialogue. It may not have come across nearly as bland and goofy as Borderlands, but it felt like that is where they are leaning more towards in that trailer.
