So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

I went to Toys 'R Us this morning and found at least a dozen people in line before they opened at 10 AM. As I walked to the end of the line, two others joined as well. They only had 10 in stock. I'm amazed that after a month of being released it's still this difficult to find one. This story has a good ending though...

I returned to my car and received a text message from my brother who went to Best Buy at the same time. He found a Neon. :)

I then proceeded to a Best Buy near my location. It's about 10:15 by now. I saw two others walk out with a Switch as I walked in. My expectations were low. But they shouldn't have been.. I got a Neon as well.

I'm not guaranteeing anything people, but BB seems to have a solid re-stock this Sunday morning.

Can't wait to play my Switch.

Everyone...this is one of the most delightful and impressive pieces of tech I have had the pleasure of playing with in a long time. When you put that tiny Zelda cartridge in and play it on the sleek/thin tablet...it's magical. Then you pop it onto the dock and see it instantly come onto the TV. It's so freaking cool. After playing with it I'm amazed it's only $300.

I feel like a kid again.

Yup. It's a fantastic device. I was surprised how much I liked it given how neutral I was on it after their Japan conference in Jan. But I knew I needed Zelda so...

Yeah, feel the same. I was so meh to it once the presentation happened but I let the hype get to me so I snagged a friend's extra preorder on launch and I don't think I could ever go back to 'traditional' gaming.

Thanks Mom!

Same here! I was not convinced of the Switch NOR Zelda. Now that I'm playing Zelda, I couldn't help but keep smiling and enjoying exploring. Horizon Zero Dawn feels artificial and cold compared to this game.

Best buy is awesome! Just grabbed a neon easily. They had about 10 noeons, and looked about 15 Grey.

Heard this from a random person on Cheapassgamer. If you want a switch best buy is definitely selling them in store.

Well, joy-con wheels already seem to be sold out, so that's some good (and funny) anecdotal evidence for MK8D doing well. Also, check some amazon.com yearly bestsellers 2017 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2017/videogames#2) for some anecdotal evidence on performance: if you go to the link, you will see MK8 is already ahead of blockbusters like Mass Effect Andromeda and Resident Evil 7, and it isn't launching until three more weeks. Never Trust this ranking for a fully true representation of the actual situation, but as far as anecdotal evidence goes it is the highest quality you can get.

holy shit at playstation store cards

I just walked I to a best buy at noon here in the twin cities and they had over 30 just sitting there. I had no plans on buying... I now own a damn switch.

I ended up going waiting at a Scottsdale BestBuy for 45 min. They only had grey models so I just bought one of those (and a Pro Controler). I waited in line with some nice people and we swapped Switch stories for a half hour. It made the wait much better. Thank you, guys.

Even after the best buy "relaunch" this morning, my store still has more than enough switches. It was a pretty good restock for best buy.

Yep, but that stock isn't going to last the day. If people want one, they should jump on it now.

Best Buy in the Edgewood shopping center in Atlanta has at least 8 gray Switches as of 2pm.

Mario Kart 8 being number 7 overall (and the third best selling video game) is surprising to me. So Zelda and Horizon are the only better selling games from Amazon for the year.

Also pretty notable that for the entire year so far, Zelda for Switch is the best selling game on Amazon, and the Wii U version is the 4th best selling game. So in combined sales Breath Of The Wild is probably doing extremely well.

Yeah, we can conclude at the very least that Zelda is doing really well in sales, regardless of whether it is the best selling game of the year (which would mean it sold more than 2.6 million already as per Horizon Zero Dawn's sales numbers, probably quite a bit more already). Keep in mind that many games have a PS4 and XB1 SKU, so the sales are split and several will probably overtake MK8D when combined. Still, outselling even half of a blockbuster like Resident Evil 7 or Mass Effect Andromeda three weeks before the game even launches is a really good result no matter how you slice it.

I signed up on nowinstock.net for text message alerts for when they came in stock. It's easier than waiting in line on Sunday. I'll be getting mine just in time for my international flight this weekend

Best Buy (Deptford, NJ) had between 7-10 gray units sitting in the glass case in the Switch section when I was there about 2 hours ago.

I was able to order off Walmart and Best Buy this weekend and so I have 2 on the way. My friend told me to buy him one if I saw one and now he's not sure! Oh well, it's not gonna be hard to find someone else. I think they will be refreshed more now regardless.

All 11 Argos stores in a 25 mile radius from where I live have been out of stock of the Grey one for weeks; in fact, I'm not even sure I've ever seen the Grey one in stock. lol. Neons seem to have decent availability though.

They had loads of grays a week after launch. Since then other than Nintendo UK and Amazon I've not seen a gray one anywhere outside of CEX

120 seems ridiculous, even if this is in a major city. Wonder if that's a mistake.

Same sign at my local TRU this morning except it said '17'. I was first in line. I thought they opened at 9 and got there at 8:30 and stood in line only to discover they opened at 10. LOL

Glad I left when I did because within the hour all the tickets were done.

Hey for the left joycon issues are we supposed to contact nintendo and they can fix it like sony did with thr bad dualshock 4's? Got a Switch as a gift from my bro, but left joycon even when next to the console seems to both sometimes not register inputs, and other times I push the stick just a bit and let go and Link goes running for like 5 seconds. Probably gonna get a replacement at the store but want to know what i need to do to fix the one I got. Kinda hard to exchange it for another console when they are so hard to find, and my bro who gifted it to me lives far away in the first place

You can contact Nintendo, and they will repair it once you have sent it to them. It's a quick repair, so you'll be without it for only a few days.

Ohhh sweet thanks! Thought I was gonna be joyconless for like 2 weeks, maybe don't need to get a replacement then, will just play some Persona til it gets back

I saw my first Switch in the wild here in Chicago. Also, managed to snag a pro controller while I was there. They had 4 of em around noon today. So excited to use the pro on Zelda. My first Zelda since NES days and I'm straight addicted to it. I forgot how delightful Nintendo games can be...its been too long.

Nope, I work there, they sent about half a pallet, which is odd since the first few Switch shipments came through UPS/Fed Ex.

Let us know how fast those 120 take to sell. Will be interesting if this weekend's restock goes fast.

Edit: how many of those sold today?
