I tried to watch the pilot episode once, and it was pretty bad.

I like the pilot. But I think the show does get a lot better as it goes on. If you happened to be a Veronica Mars fan, this show is from the same creative team and as it goes on I think it gets more like that series in terms of how the MOTWs pay off and how the serialized story becomes increasingly part of the series through the season.

Why is no one watching iZombie?

At this point I have serious TV fatigue and for a new show to enter the rotation it has to be at Breaking Bad / Wire levels of hype, talent, acclaim, buzz, etc. Lucifer and Legion are pretty much my only comic book TV show and I just see this endless list of new comic book series and I can't figure out how anyone is keeping up.

I mean hell this week alone I've gotta watch

Americans
Better Call Saul
Veep
Brooklyn 99
The Expanse
Last Week Tonight
24 (this is utter trash but its over in 1 week then Lucifer is back!)
Bob's Burgers
Archer
Homeland (binging season 6 now that its ended)
MST3K new episodes April 14th
Fargo S3 starts next week
Silicon Valley a week later

Whose got time for iZombie, Riverdale, Feud or anything else :(

The show or at least first season get better as it goes on and imo it's one of the better and my personal favourite of the cw comic shows

Same. It didn't really click for me until midway through Season 1. I'm not overly fond of procedurals, but the new personalities every week keep it fresh. Plus, the writing got really smart and snappy once it found its groove. Season 2 was expertly executed from start to finish.

It might be able to get back up to a 0.4 when Flash comes back, but that's about it. As to why nobody is watching...*shrug* It's not a traditional cape show is probably the simplest answer. iZombie, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Jane the Virgin are the critical darlings of the network. But they're also among the least watched shows.

For me it's catch-up, on top of The Americans, Last Week Tonight, Better Call Saul, Broadchurch (but that's over this week I think), Bates Motel, Feud, Riverdale, Netflix insanity... then you've got The Leftovers, Veep, Silicon Valley, and Fargo starting up... and Handmaid's Tale and American Gods at the end of the month.

Plus I just got Amazon Prime, so now I'm watching all of the Prime shows, haha.

Feels like a significant drop for Prison Break... I know its next day numbers were pretty good, but shows usually keep dropping, don't they? Fox has cancelled shows with 2.9 million viewers, lol.

iZombie was off for almost an entire year and is airing in the spring after repeats. I don't know why anybody would expect anything other than the garbage ratings it is getting.

Deadline - PILOTS 2017: Very, Very Early Buzz Edition

We are a month and three days away from the broadcast networks’ upfronts, three days into the current round of negotiations between the WGA and the producers and three weeks from a potential writers strike. The prospect of a possible work stoppage is casting a shadow over this year’s pilot season as producers are looking to get pilots done before the WGA contract expires on May 1 amid uncertainty when their projects will go into production if picked up to series. As is always the case with our very first Pilot Buzz roundup, it is sketchy and preliminary as very few pilots have finished cuts and many are sill filming. The picture will get fuller and more clear in the coming weeks.

Fox

Comedy:

Ghosted is getting strong early buzz; LA->Vegas is a hot prospect and the table read went well; Amy’s Brother, Thin Ice, and Type-A are all in the running.

Drama:

Untitled Marvel project looks good, possible early pick up; The Resident is getting early buzz.

With two of the six Fox drama pilots this year not filming until the off-season, observers note that all four that are being produced now may be in contention as the network tries to fulfill its scheduling needs.

ABC

Comedy:

Household Name was well received, a possible companion to Last Man Standing or Will and Grace if ABC decides to pass on it and NBC picks it up; early praise for Raised By Wolves and Start Up; "early internal support" for The Goldbergs spinoff, Charlie Foxtrot and Jalen vs. Everybody; "will to make" Libby & Malcolm work; Black-ish spinoff not too hot right now.

Drama:

Unit Zero = chatter; solid early buzz for Reba's new show; Shondaland's new legal drama looks promising; expectations are high for Deception; The Gospel Of Kevin is getting good notices.

NBC

Comedy:

Champions and The Sackett Sisters are garnering attention; What About Barb? = buzzy; Spaced Out a possibility.

Drama:

Rise has been getting strong early buzz; Reverie is getting promising early mentions.

CBS

Comedy:

9J, 9K & 9L = early standout; Me, Myself & I and Distefano are possibilities.

Drama:

People are talking about Instinct and the Untitled SEAL project y'all; high expectations for S.W.A.T; The Get is a possibility; Mission Control was mentioned!

The CW

Comedy:

Life Sentence and Insatiable are contenders.

Drama:

Dynasty is the frontrunner; Black Lightning is a hot prospect; Searchers is still in the running.

That was Go On (or Goon). Mr. Sunshine was the hockey one.

Good Lord how many shows has he gotten? It does make you wonder whether he's got pictures of somebody.

Edit - I enjoyed the new Odd Couple for the most part, but Perry was regularly the weakest member of the cast, always yelling his lines. The dude playing Felix was an absolute riot.

I didn't know Goldbergs is going to have a spin off. Heard about the Blackish one though.

Reba project? Hm. Liked her sitcom before so maybe I will check it out.

Shonda just keeps on getting new shows lol

Is Trial and Error doing well enough for NBC to possibly renew it? From the ratings it at least seems to be doing somewhat reasonably well.

Has Jenna Elfman been in one single mildly successful thing since Dharma and Greg (which was hardly that big either)? Like, she's the greatest mystery of TV to me. How she continues getting cast as a lead when she seems either incapable of bringing in viewers or continuously getting stuck with absolute garbage is beyond me.

I miss part 1 Ratsky, the loveable hopeful Ratsky.

This dark middle chapter sequel Ratsky is bumming me out :(

I wonder how many people remember when she had a one-season multi-cam sitcom that was on ABC, called Malibu Country. It had Lily Tomlin in it as well, if you can believe that.

Ah, I read that as Will and Grace going to NBC if ABC passes on it and got confused. Haha.

I read it that way, too, I'm with you there, haha.

I always end up interested in what NBC's up to, they pilot some of the strangest things. Although Fox is giving them a run for their money lately.

The name is familiar but I didn't recall until I saw what you wrote. Never watched a single episode of it. Since it was one season I'm going to guess not a lot of people remember

Gun legislation episode of Designated Survivor was such a drag, why cant they use original things and not try to address current/recent national dialogue, more plots involving national security and secrecy please :(

Pop Picks Up New Series, Sets Development Slate

The offerings, aimed at what Pop brass dubbed the “modern grown-up” demo of post-Millennials, include Clique, a one-hour drama series in the risqué vein of such Shondaland series as Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder; CollegeHumor comedy Hot Date, executive produced by Will Arnett; and comedy Swedish Dicks, Private Investigators, starring Peter Stormare and features Keanu Reeves. They will join the upcoming fourth season of Pop’s flagship comedy Schitt’s Creek, starring Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Chris Elliott, and second season of Nightcap, a behind-the-scenes comedy set at a late-night talk show.

Pop also has nabbed exclusive rights to the full, 331-episode, 15-year run of ER. The hospital drama, which made stars of George Clooney and Julianna Margulies, quietly launched on Pop two weeks ago and has been delivering strong ratings. Additionally, Pop unveiled nine new scripted and unscripted projects in development from Sarah Jessica Parker, Krysten Ritter, Mary McCormack, Rashida Jones and Kate Walsh, among others.
