Yeah display blood is off by default you need to turn it on in game settings.

Yeah, but DotEmu released the Steam version, not Hamster. Not sure if that would make a difference

Oooh is there a way to save settings in KOF98? I keep adjusting screen size and settings and every time I reboot it's back to default.

Your settings are saved when you go back, should get a prompt that resets the game after you adjust them.

Where is this located for SamSho4, under Gameplay Settings? Holding off to grab it until tomorrow..
HOWEVER
I checked out Alpha Mission II and it has full continue settings. You can set continues to "Infinite", "Without", or any number between 1 - 99, and it works perfectly!
No idea if this was taken from the bug/suggestion list, but seems likely. Thank you, Hamster! Hope this gets patched in to the rest (and double hope some of the other fixes are still to come, still, super happy to see it added.)
Edit: I think I should add that I still strongly recommend a 1CC as a goal for a lot of these games as that is where the challenge and balance really shines, but I also know how tedious that can be for some folks so if starting at 10 continues, or whatever, and working your way down helps then go with god, you'll hear no shaming out of me. I recommend giving that a shot if your brain is wired around visible progress. Getting down from 10 continues to 9, then 8, and so on can feel real good. I have more suggestions for approach if anyone is interested.

It's a hard game, let me warn you about that, and getting to the secret final boss requires not losing a single round, so it's pretty crazy. It's a decent game though despite it's hard difficulty.

Certain KoFs are better regarded than others. 94 is there I guess because it's the beginning of the series, 98 because it's the best remembered. 99 isn't really a favourite, I'd expect one of the 2000s or 95 next.

For me, one of the best things of the console are all this Neo Geo games. I really hope they keep realsing Neo geo Stuff. I would love to have Kof 2000 and Samsho II.

I've only picked up this and Waku Waku 7 but the sound timing seems so much better / pretty much perfect in SS4. Did ACA fix the emulator for the last batch of games? If they have then hopefully they'll patch up the games from launch.

I personally wish the whole series was a single executable, with additional games being added to a list within that.
Hamster would get a lot more of my money if they would only make the goddamn AES mode available already.
Apart from being able to do cheap infinite credit runs there's literally no point in playing an emulated Neo Geo game in MVS mode, you're only getting an incomplete version of the game.

That would be nice, especially since you'd pick up later improvements for all games (e.g. the original Hamster AA games on PS4 like Rygar don't have scanlines and they've never gone back to update them after adding the option to later games).
I recently had a great multiplayer session of Neo Turf Masters if you're looking for something with a chill vibe.
Has anyone tried the shortcut during bootup? Don't have my Switch on me or I would. I assume its not there but it would be funny if is.

Sounds like you want the emulator to be the folder.
Hold three buttons to get access to the options for the arcade version, including switching between AES/MVS. That may only be in the universal bios, I honestly can't remember.
No, ACA doesn't use the unibios. Obviously that feature is not part of the real Neo Geo bios.
Oh well. Hey after dotemu sold downloaded ROMs for the NG collection on Humble (don't get me wrong DotEmu I love you for selling so many ROMs for so cheap!) anything was possible!
All ROMs are "downloaded". Virtually no company has kept archives of their binary code from the 8/16 bit era. Every commercial emulator out there uses ROM dumps that came from grey area sources.

FWIW I gave it a shot on metal slug and none of the combinations worked. I also tried random combinations for the hell of it.
I'm in the camp that believes an AES switch chances are low, but I'd love to be wrong. I thought continue config was basically zero so the sky is the limit.
