I can't cite anything but I've seen more and more hate on CM films especially Marvel films on GAF in the last few months. Plus the movie websites I frequent have negative thumbs up for comic book films trailers since the last year.

I think the bubble might have popped.

First off, if GAF were a barometer, then Scott Pilgrim would be the biggest box office hit ever and the Han spin off from Fast and Furious would outgross the original series.

And negative thumbs up? Isn't that contradictory?

If GAF had its way we would have Speed Racer 4.

Neither of those things are indicative of general moviegoers.

OW: $155m
RT: 80%
MC: 65

It'll be a fantastic film but comic book fatigue is real.

You might be able to say fatigue is setting in with critics, not audiences, but Logan just came out and reviewed really well. GotG2 could do the same if it's of similar or better quality. That said, I think critics might be harder on it if it's a little rough around the edges.

Don't forget Speed Racer becoming a cinematic landmark :p (...I do enjoy that film though)

Speed Racer was very much ahead of its time. In no way is that movie close to as bad as it reviewed. I mean its RT is abysmal. The film has genuine heart, good writing, and great performances. The Wachowskis treated the source material with reverence and you could tell they cared. It's hard to imagine a film adaptation of Speed Racer possibly being better than what they did. It just turns out a lot of people had no interest in Speed Racer. If it released today the Chinese Box Office alone honestly probably would have saved it due to the crazy visuals.

It also had bad luck in its opening weekend competition that we can only really see in hindsight. No one thought a movie about a B/C Tier hero, Iron Man, starring a washed out star back from rehab, was going to be the start of a massive new franchise that would also be the trend setter for the following decade of films.

I think the bubble might have popped.

The superhero film bubble popped so hard that audiences spent $4.75B WW hate-watching them last year.

None of this makes any sense.

The bubble hasn't popped, and there is no indication that it is going to any time soon.

A true soothsayer.

I thought a low 80% on RT would be generous but considering Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3 got 75 and 79 even if this film disappoints it will score better than those two let downs.
