Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Question: my profile has 200/200 achievements from Golf: Tee It Up, back when it was on 360. It was an xbox live game, meaning I downloaded it digitally. It is not showing up in my "Ready To Install" or "Installed" lists despite hitting backwards compatibility last week. Any suggestions?

Edit. Or do 360 games need to be searched for and downloaded/don't auto show up?

It's an issue for everyone as far as I can tell. I also own the game and was able to download it via searching it out in the store, but it refuses to start. I'd imagine Microsoft will fix it eventually as this has happened a few times in the past with towerblox, military madness, and guwange.

Does anyone know if the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age Origins works on the Xbox One? I got the original during the sale along with the DLC but then I found out that there is a lot more DLC then I rememebered. It would be cheaper buying the Ultimate Edition than the rest of the DLC separately.

Also does it have to be a new copy or can a used one work?

It does work, but you have to install from the second disc for the DLC to show up. I don't see why an used copy wouldn't work sincentives everything is on disc.

I get what you are saying, though I really don't agree with it. The publishers owe us jack shit with regards to making their games available on Xbone. Also, outside of some people who already own a last gen version, why would someone with an Xbone want to play a last gen version of a cross gen game.

I think I can partially answer that.. For this current gen, nothing exciting has come out, whether exclusive or multi platform wise. It's mainly HD remakes of last gen games and an occasional new game.

When backwards compatibility was announce it was pretty exciting. But the games fall under the developer/publisher's decision. For me, I think it's great because I missed some of the old titles that I never got to play.

This is all speculation of course. I bounce between console and pc gaming so that's why my observation is bleak.

I'm the same.

Capcom has actually been delivering. Using this link as a reference, I count 14 titles total, several of which I own and break out occasionally.

  1. Age of Booty
  2. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
  3. Capcom Arcade Cabinet
  4. Dark Void
  5. de Blob 2
  6. Dead Rising 2: Case West
  7. Dead Rising 2: Case Zero
  8. Ducktales Remastered
  9. Dungons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
  10. Final Fight: Double Impact
  11. Flock!
  12. Mega Man 9
  13. Mega Man 10
  14. Street Fighter IV

Hmmm. I guess I can't say they don't have anything. But RE, DMC, Lost Planet need to show up.

I've had a coupe of game not show on my ready to install. I've gone to the 360 game via Xbox One, clicked on buy and it's come up saying "you already own this title". So it refreshed the license.

Only thing I will say, just make sure you're not eager, after you have click buy it will sometime give you the price, if it does this then it means you don't own it, so I'm not too sure of any other solutions.

I absolutely agree with you, and I love having BC on the Xbox (it was a large part of why I bought it). I was disagreeing with his/her point about cross gen titles specifically, which to me just seems kinda pointless in most cases. Unless you already own a 360 version of a game such as Watch Dogs, or Black Ops 3, I really don't see why an Xbone owner would buy a pared down version of the same game.

The following Xbox 360 games are now compatible with Xbox One:

-TimeShift
-Assault Heroes 2
-Commanders: Attack of the Genos

EDIT: Beaten by a minute. Lol.

I think someone got the "we want crysis" memo wrong.

My middle school self always thought TimeShift looked like fun when it was sitting on the shelf at Blockbuster, but I never rented it...

Timeshift isn't a bad game, surprisingly. Though I remember one puzzle that had a fairly obvious solution that the game didn't allow to work, because the designer overthought it themselves.

Oh its that boxart I always mix up with Haze

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend going back and try to play Haze now. It was firmly bad at the time. It's almost confusingly bad now.

WOOH! TIMESHIFT!

Now 156 of my 360 games are BC.

Might try finishing Timeshift after I finish Darksiders I & II, maybe not though since I don't want to deal with my Timeshift disc....

Thanks. Yeah, it shows a price of $4.99, but looks like the problem is widespread, so I'll just hold tight. I remember the game being a fun little distraction (nowhere near as good as Hot Shots Golf, but scratched a certain itch).

I'd love to have the trilogy supported just to see how the framerate holds up.

Same. I found the digital release of Crysis 1 fastinating because of the way it was re-engineered (and that it looked as good as it did, given the hardware). The added layer of that being through XB1 BC improvements would be great.

The Black Ops 2 copy I bought from the UK came with a 2-day Xbox Live trial l code that actually was unused and still worked, how cool is that?

So I got to play the multi for the first time, decided to go for free for all, since I didn't want to screw up any team with my noobness, because in all the lobbies everybody was lvl 50 or higher. The few maps I saw were cool, and performance and visual quality were surprisingly good, too.

But yeah, in my first MP game of BLOPS 2 ever , there was a boy that sounded like he was nine years old, he had the microphone open and was talking shit the whole time, telling people to suck his cock, and when I killed him he called me nigger. From then on I muted everybody. Twenty years ago I would probably have even be amused by this, but I'm too old for this shit now, and being the father of a nine year old myself I actually find it quite disgusting.

In the next game, everybody was be quick scoping all the freaking time, but I kept going and managed to not be last on the scoreboard.

The last match had a dude who was very good, but had extreme lag. You could see it in the way he teleported around, and his kill cams were hilarious. I don't understand how playing like this was a fun experience for the guy, but I kind of admire him for getting in a considerable amount of kills.

I know MS has never really done things like this, but man, I'd probably jump the gun on purchasing a lot of these if they happened to put them on sale the week they become BC.

They probably plan their sales a couple of weeks in advance and their BC announcements probably aren't quite as planned as their sales.

They should just make it part of the agreement with the publishers. Like check a box or something if you want your game to go on sale the day it goes BC or something so that they have approval in advance.
