It's SFxT 2

It's a hybrid of the two IMO.

The game has assists, so calling it SFxT 2.0 isn't fair anymore (fucking Capcom PR). The game has combo breakers, which is also a TvC feature. But the freeform tag combos are a SFxT feature.

Marvel actually looks interesting now. There is something to think about. We need restrictions on tags to see how this can best be exploited.

Thought the same! I was sooo worried about all this "dumbed down" talk and all these stones and shit, but the game actually looks great (gameplay wise, don't think it looks that horrible tbh)!

Things I noticed from the Marvel gameplay.

-Chris Airdashed with the Time Stone. Air dashing is fucking slow.

-Push Block is in the game

-You can call your other partner in off attacks it seems with no cost to your meter.

-You gain full Stone Meter when one of your characters dies.

-You only gain Stone Meter when getting hit, not blocking and not attacking. Thought there are a few random instances where Chris seems to gain Stone meter while on the offense.

-There are rounds.

-Everything fuckin OTGs

-Super jump height is like halved

-Burst exists in the game but they are weird. You gain control of your character offscreen and attempt to interrupt the opponent's combo. They cost 2 Bars.

-Animations look somehow worse than MVC3

Then all you'd need to do for finals would be bump the rounds up to 3, right?

You are correct. I missed that.

Overall the game doesn't like as bad as I thought it was going upon watching the footage multiple times. Characters still have 8 way air dashes which don't require a special stone. That's a big plus but it's all very slow. The game looks really floaty too. Like I feel like the attacks really lack impact and the characters are just hitting big balloons.

There's no way that the game in its current state is going to be like SFxT with time overs.

Everyone is doing half life easy just mashing on the auto combo button and not even spending resources. Pretty sure a basic BnB into tag combos into DHC is going to kill characters in this game just like Marvel 3. Might be a bit harder but 90% welcome to USA combos will definitely be real.

So much stuff hard knockdowns, every low attack OTGs, wall bounces/ground bounces galore, not to mention the shenanigans with the Tags and Stones. This game is at least retaining the BS of Marvel though not the good BS.

I guess that's why Burst is in the game.

This is just SF style rounds, don't know if resources reset or not (I think Stone bar might be reset but not meter). It's still possible that round lengths are short and they can still have 3/5 matches like SFV does.

Is burst it's on meter?

I'll be more optimistic if two button dashing is confirmed.

It costs 2 super meter. Not sure how many uses you are allowed with it.

Unlimited Bursts as long as you have the meter.

Those freaking showerheads that spray yellow water, UGGGHHH. Why would anyone PAY to use that with their character?

The shower heads make Akumas demons even cleaner

Ultron was diagonal dashing, I can't see two button dashing not being in the game. Otherwise it would end up being more awkward than need be.

Unless there's a separate dash button that we don't know about.
 
Also so I wanted to say the biggest thing that actually excites me is the fact you can do this tag cancel anywhere and it costs no meter. That means you could theoretically us it to create a custom assist. Your point would be the assist though and the character in back would be taking advantage of it. Like you could call Unibeam with IronMan, Tag Cancl Strider and teleport for a cross up. That might be where all the synergy comes from.

Costs two bars. You gain control of your off screen character and can attack the opponent while they still juggle your other character.
That's actually quite interesting. Potentially you could hit the panic button, cone in and then get your *other* character mixed up and bodied if your opponent is smart.

Nothing but it seems unnecessarily awkward.

And yeah the Tag system has me excited too, definitely has some custom assist applications. Though probably not as abusable because you are still tagging in characters which removes red HP and there is a 3 second cooldown to them. Most likely not as safe as assists too. But this still opens up creativity, set ups and options. And even more importantly, it makes synergy between two characters important versus just "pick a pixie character and a beefy anchor, get a hit with pixie character and kill them with anchor".


Would be pretty funny if someone attempts a Burst and gets both characters caught in a happy birthday.

I'll probably end up playing Ultron a lot on teams. Those drone lasers into tag will mean great stuff if I use it right. Plus I am super into that air diving command grab. I love grabs and I love dives. I get the feeling their will be some dirty tag or stone setups for that grab. Plus that screen of him using 2 hand beams at once looked great.

Also even though there might be a ton of moves that OTG and hard knockdown... I didn't see anyone doing an OTG more than once in the video.

I hope there's a limit of 1 OTG per combo (1 OTG, 1 wall bounce, 1 ground bounce etc) so we don't have the situation where Doom just OTGs you like 5 times in a combo. Would make the Power Stone feel special to use too as it breaks a rule of the game.

He reminds me of Triborg in MK X.

Dude, we're only with the reveal cast right now. I'm sure your opinion will probably change.

Not me, though. I need my robot and since Sentinel is probably out Ultron's in.
