A few tips:

- Fusing Persona every once in a while is important to not be behind the curve.
- Once you get to the Tutorial negotiation, go to the Tutorial menu and read about the different personalities. Each one likes different kind of answers, and when you press L1 you see which one they are.
- Buffs, debuffs and status aliments are your friends. Experiment a bit with the battle system.
- Each Confidant (people you can hang out) has an Arcana (Tarot Card) assigned. Having a Persona in your rooster that matches the Confidant Arcana is quite important.
- Keep Social Stats in mind, since they're important and unlock characters. For Charm go to the Bath in your home District on Mondays and Thursdays, for Guts there is the Big Bang Burger challenge, for Proficiency you can craft tools, for Knowledge study in rainy days at Dinner and for Kindness work in the Flower Shop. There is a plant in your bedroom, you can give it fertiliser once every 2 weeks for a free boost of Kindness too. The fertiliser in Shinjuku is better than the one in the Flower Shop in Shibuya.
- Press Select / Touch Pad to see what people pick in the school questions, I'd say it's more important to answer correctly that not cheating.
- The Fortune and Temperance arcana Confidants have some perks that makes times management easier.
- Watching films (only for the first time) grants a big star boost. Try to always have an unread book at hand too. You can get some for free at the library.
- Don't follow a guide or worry about choosing the correct option when talking to people. Enjoy the ride. With these tips you should be able to have an efficient playthrough anyway.

Thanks for posting these tips, I've read quite a few guides already about suggested playthrough routes, so I'll keep these in mind. I played about 40 hours of Persona 4, but ended up never finishing it and I'm aiming to actually beat Persona 5 this time. It's a little overwhelming thinking about all the different aspects of the game & also worrying about it messing up some where along the way.

So far, I'm still in the very early going, game still hasn't really opened up for me yet. Ann just joined the party & we're in the midst of dealing with Kamoshida. Enjoying the game a lot so far!

I have had my steelbook copy since launch, but I finally cracked it open yesterday. Ended up sinking 3.5 hours into the game.

I like the story framing, but it's taking a long time to open up the actual role playing. I'm basically on rails still. I assume this will change after the first palace wraps up.

Just keep some of them in mind. You'll master the battle system as you play, don't worry about that.

When it comes to the different stats, the game gives you some hints via NPCs dialogues. So, if you've read my post you'll probably have a "oh, I remember that!" moment when those appear.

Fortune and Temperance Confidants will appear after a while. So you don't need to worry about them at first.

You can get special events where you see a movie with a teammate or something. Don't worry much about those.

Enjoy the game, really. I mean, as long as you remember to use a Persona of the same Arcana and use the Fortune Perk a bit in the last few months of gameplay, you should be able to level up at least the whole party and a bunch of other Confidants of your liking.

Some people have managed to do all Confidants in their first playthrough without using a guide. The game schedule isn't as tight as in Persona 4.

There is no reason to stress yourself over it. Just enjoy the ride.

Finished the 5th palace. I heard many people here saying it's a bad dungeon but I actually liked it. What was supposed to be so bad about it? The only annoying part for me was
the beginning with all those clearance cards you have to steal, but even that was kind of neat with the whole eavesdropping puzzle aspect.
The boss sucked though, that whole
timelimit thing was so stressful. Barely beat him with only a few minutes left.

It drags. That's why people don't like it. Like the puzzle ideas are interesting at first, and then they re-use them over and over until you're a bit sick of them. It doesn't help that the first two "sections" which involves
getting the id cards, and then destroying or putting machines on lunch break
both require running back and forth to complete.

I really wish Atlus will make a sequel to Persona 4 and 5 in terms of using the same characters. I like the characters so much that I want to keep playing with them...

Just give me a HD complete version of P3. I've only played P3P so far because I hate the idea of not being able to control my party members directly.

I have to say it really wasn't bad at all for me. I can't think of a situation where things went bad cuz of teammate AI.

Although I played FES so maybe they adjusted it from vanilla. And it was only on Normal difficulty.

It's just that I'd rather play the game instead of looking at CPUs play it for me.

Is there anything I'm missing for the crafting trophy? Finally had enough crap to make the eternal lock pick and the meg bomb, I have one of everything else and have never had the maid make anything for me... are there items that you can pick up in the world that perhaps I didn't craft?

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently I never made a Goho-M

Do you have to make that stuff yourself or does it count if Becky makes that stuff for you? I've only made lockpicks so far.

Kinda disappointed there isn't any school activities in this game. Actually, the school stuff in general. I miss the school having it's own unique theme song and even when it changed during new semesters.

Im in the 2nd palace...

I've sent the calling card & I have 9 days left. If I kill the boss, do I lose those 9 days?

I'm sure this has been answered, apologies!!

No. You keep those days after the boss.

Powered through all the Haru introduction stuff earlier today, then spent half the month boosting Confidant levels. Got Makoto up to lvl9 and into girlfriend mode. Maxed Knowledge so I don't have to worry about studying anymore. Got Fortune up to lvl7 so I can boost everything else easily now. Went into the Palace. Spent a year there because it's long as hell but SO AWESOME. Probably the best looking one yet. Came out of it after getting to the treasure. Got a massage. Then made her work double time on laundry as well, while I bonded with Mishima (eww) and got that... errr long event where I didn't even get a level boost from. I guess something's going to happen next?

Pretty productive day of Persona 5!

Oh yeah, I can confirm that the game is 100% more awesome if you play through an entire Palace with the DAN costumes. Best battle BGM yet. :)

You were playing the PS3 version, right? How is that holding up? Any framerate issues or whatever that you noticed?

A persona under my level wouldn't join my team. I answered the questions correctly both times and was given an item instead. Is this just a thing that happens? It was a slithering snakewoman

How correctly? Was it the notes or the blue sweat drops?

I kinda agree, but the MC this time around doesn't really seem like the club-going type. Plus it seems like his classmates wants nothing to do with him anyway.

I've kinda been playing him as a lazy genius who sleeps in class all day and aces the tests anyway :p

My version is the PS3 one and besides some battles to field transitions taking a bit longer that I'd like to, it's pretty good. There probably are some drops here and there but nothing major I'd say. But I did 25 main raids in WoW with a laptop, so maybe I just don't notice this kind of stuff. I haven't noticed screen tearing either, eventhough DF said there was.

Game looks pretty good in my 24" Samsung 1080p Monitor too. Next month I should get a PS4, but I couldn't wait that long to play Persona 5.

I continue to be baffled by this game. I like the dungeons and controls so much more but I hate or don't care about any of my party members (I'm in November) where I cared about most of the P3 cast and almost all of the P4 crew.

Hell give me Nanako and Dojima over any of these tools.

I honestly wish I could give Ryuji the boot even if it gave me a bad ending. He's just so lame. Yusuke is close behind.

Yeah, I imagined that scene would be funnier with a JP dub. But... sorry. Makoto's voice in English is too good. I know I'd switch audio to English every time she spoke.
yea, her English voice is so sweet and matches her character perfectly. I do plan to watch a JPN LP just to hear the Engrish stuff.

I'm in Palace 3 right now and having trouble with these damn
oni. Is there any way to consistently knock them down? Cause I just keep getting killed in one turn since I can't knock all of them down in one turn. It's getting super annoying. Only way I can sometimes save myself is getting lucky with lucky punch or an instant kill move.
