Decent episode. Nice they touched on Gohan's arrogance in battle whenever he gets the upper hand.
I feel like this is starting to draw out a bit though. Like we must be a big chunk through the arc already, right? Before I thought the tournament was just gonna lead into something new and exciting but now I'm just thinking nope. Tournament will be the climax. Either way they need to start it already

They finally have gohan go mystic and dude reacts to a pinky pew pew laser like he just got shot by Blue Vegeta's Galick gun in the back. Undermined the whole form in the same episode where they brought it back. I understand the point in making gohan realize he shouldn't be arrogant but just show him in a shocked face or something. Have piccolo say if this were a attack by a goku caliber fighter he would have been severely injured. That's it. Still get the message across while not undermining the mystic form at the same time.
He literally blew it up when he finished lol Walked out thinking to himself how much of a badass he was while Dende and Mr. Popo clean up after him.

Attacking unaware foes has always caused big damage in Dragon Ball.
Same shit happened to goku when he thought he had frieza on the ropes and paid zero attention to his surroundings allowing sorbet to blast a hole through his chest with a weak ass ring laser. Same lesson here, finish your damn plate.

Goku SSGSS was pretty much killed by a pistol, thank god Krilin gave him a Senzu.
At least now we know how weak that form actually is LOL.

It makes sense since Gohan was out of practice, but he has been keeping himself somewhat in shape since Resurrection 'F'. So he just needed that little extra pushed.

That's the thing. You have clouds splitting apart, epic music playing, Gohan is going beyond SSJ; a return to form. And not a minute passes by before showing that all this powerup doesn't amount to much. Let the return to glory mean something. At least for an episode. You can still have your teachable moment without deflating all the powerup hype; in the same episode nonetheless.
So Ultimate Gohan is after SSJ 2 or 3?
In the Buu arc it was beyond SSJ3.

gohan isn't getting god ki in this arc, theres no way to get it by training with piccolo
I Disagree. The real hype moment is Piccolo saying Gohan can go further beyond that level and he's going to help him get there.

Liked this episode, especially sine my boy Piccolo basically told Gohan the very reason as to why I don't like him
hopefully Gohan does indeed fix this problem in the near future

I feel like she was straight up a different character when they animated that. And then Toriyama gave them an updated design. I think that's the reason for why the transformation scene isn't in the opening like the previews showed.

Yeah I mentioned this in a previous page. Either they're totally different characters or they changed her design after that trailer aired.
Yep, stop training and you end up like Yamcha. Im wondering could even Mr. Satan kick Yamcha's ass in a hypothetical tournament right now. Krillin was shook that bullets could scratch him and they were less than mosquito bites to him when he was a kid.

Well you realize they didn't cut that scene randomly so it's possible they changed her since they were far from writing episodes featuring her when they made that.
Gohan has the track suit, Buu is fat etc... it's very clear they didn't know the exact details when they made the OP.
