Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
So Minecraft Switch is 29.99, on the US as well as the CAD eShop. I'm guessing it's some kind of mistake, that's like a saving of $11 for us based on the current exchange.

Its $35 right now at best buy.

I was like damn, gotta get this.. but I then remembered I already bought / traded-it in. I'm gonna wait for it to be super cheap in a flash sale a few months before KH 3 comes out. (2025 or so I assume)

I was about to say minecraft on sale is unheard of, then I read the rest of your post lol

I haven't been able to log into my Best Buy Reward Zone account for the past few days, to access my certificates. I've reset my password just to be sure, but I just get an error message when trying.

Is anyone else able to?

That problem was mentioned in this thread a while ago and the only way to fix it is to call the number (1-866-969-7393) they give you.

Appreciate the suggestions.

As someone who literally never plays multiplayer or online, is latency even an issue?
They meant input-lag and it has nothing to do with online gaming. It's about the time between when you press a button and you see the action on the screen.

Woah.. my local EB Games just called me to promote some upcoming titles they thought I might be interested in. When did they start doing that?

They desperate I guess.

Me they called me this week for Farpoint and pitched me a few trade-in deals and games I may be interested in.

So... are Amazon, Newegg, NCIX and Memory Express still the places to buy computer hardware? Looking to get a nw video card and trying to price stuff out.

So far Amazon has a backorder on an MSI 4GB 580 for $275, which seems a lot lower than everywhere else and right at about the max I'd wanna spend. Plus I could load $100 gift card to get the $5 credit so save a few more bucks. Never ordered that kinda thing for Amazon before though.

Canada Computers, Direct Canada to add a few. You can try checking pcpartpicker and see which store has it selling the lowest

Cool thanks! Man shopping for PC fucking *sucks* it's like TVs on steroids. "How many different SKUs with minor differences can we create?! Twin FROZR! METAL!? OC! OC+! SUPERCLOCKED!" ugh.

Also: isn't Direct Canada owned by NCIX?

Speaking of free stuff,

FREE

I didn't realize you don't need to own Blaster Master Zero on the Switch in order to download the free DLC. If you ever plan to buy the game and want the Gunvolt DLC which is free until May 17th ($2 after that) you can just download the DLC for free right now. It'll probably be the same for the free Ekoro DLC from June 1-14 ($2 after that). You have to do it through the Switch eShop by going to the game's page and selecting the DLC.

Anyone in Vancouver want a BNIB wireless XB1 controller (older model) for $40 or BNIB PSTV (just the system, not the bundle) for $60? Can pick up downtown. If not, gonna sell it on the BST or something.

Eww, there's a new Twitch app and you have to use that to play?
Fuck that noise.

I'd rather have it some other way as well and I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to jump through that hoop... that said, the Twitch app seems relatively unobtrusive to me.

I probably already got enough out of my Prime subscription that it was worth it to keep (maybe just worth it to keep)... but since actually linking up a Twitch account, I feel like the game stuff has been pretty solid added value.

There's been more stuff offered but I've got: Banner Saga 1&2, Kentucky Route Zero, Zombie Night Terror, Oxenfree and 1979 Revolution: Black Friday.

At their cheapest prices on Steam, that still amounts to about $50 in content and I know I haven't gotten all the games they've offered since signing up (let alone before I signed up... didn't set it up until February).

Ebgames seem to have a promotion for the uncharted 4 PS4 bundle right now where you can get a select game for free. The choice includes games like FFXV and so on. What do you guys think?

EB is just getting pathetic lol. Forcing minimum wage cashiers to do cold calls is pretty much rock bottom.

Next generation will probably be the one where they finally croak.

Decided to bite the bullet on Binding of Isaac for the Switch. Is the game $54 everywhere? I swear it was $45
Dude, even at $45 that is way overpriced.

All y'all need to relax. These Switch prices will come down to in-line with everything else, eventually. But they won't if you guys keep buying overpriced old ports.

The entire bundle on Steam is $40, $45 wouldn't be terrible.

People can (and have) put literally hundreds of hours into BOI. Our value perception with video games is so fucking crazy sometimes.

considering it comes with all the expansions, it's pretty well priced.

Yeeeeaaahhhhh, I think it's maybe you who needs to chill. I've got a business trip soon that would be a great opportunity to dump some hours into this game.

My purchase is not that big of a splash for Nicalis or Ninty.

Plus, it seems like awesome value for what you can put in, as killroy says

I was concerned that EB had the price jacked up on the game compared to other stores. I'm okay getting it now instead of a year later where it may be 30% off :/

Expensive for an indie title on the Switch? Yes. Way overpriced for its content? Not even close. Most who play the BoI do not put in tens of hours, like most typical $50+ games, but hundreds, sometimes thousands.

I have easily put more time into The Binding of Isaac than any other game over the past 5 years.
If you ask me, the game is a bargain at its current asking price.

Anyone know a place to pick up just the standard PS4 version of Rock Band 4f or under $20 in Canada? Seems the Canadian prices don't match the American ones yet.

Edit - I understand the prices will never "Match" But when a game is easily available in the US for under $10 USD and can't find be found for under $30 CDN is the problem.

Question for those who've managed to get a Switch so far:

Is there anywhere specific I should be looking or following to snag one? I'm going to wait for more deals/games but I'd like to be prepared, should anything good be announced @ E3.

Thanks in advance!

Honestly this thread is the best place to check frequently.

I've had the opportunity to buy multiple Switch's due to people posting about their availability in this thread but have held off. Your absolute best bet is probably having Amazon Prime and waiting until they put them up for Prime only members again.

I'd be very interested in the PSTV, but would need it shipped. Obviously at my expense if you're willing. Sent you a PM.

HOT DEAL

EBGAMES

Oh how the mighty have fallen... I've been interested in this for a while, considering I have 2 games on the list that work I might as well try it out.

Here's the list of game that will work for this promo.

There's some REAL turds in there that work.

I disagree. This is not that hot of a deal. They are selling the game for $50. They often have Trade 2 for $79.99 games. Getting $25 for games on that list is not that good.

Well, you've sold me. I have two controllers now. I'll chock this up as another game for my fiancé and me to play....

Try Staples or the Source online. EB had a few last Friday.
