Upside down smiling Laura in a cup of coffee at the end of the last episode seems like it was some kind of message to ABC. Or Lynch just being Lynch.

Never forget

For a first timer who's 10 episodes deep in season 2, is the extended cut of Fire Walk With Me really necessary? I know the regular version is streaming on Showtime.

and if the extended cut is necessary, where would one find it?

I would save the extended cut for a second viewing if you're interested in revisiting the film.

Any extended cut would be a fan edit, so no, it's not necessary. The deleted scenes (aka The Missing Pieces) are interesting but it's not a huge deal if you can't track them down. They're only available on the blu-ray set.

Final episode of season 2 spoilers

So when we see Leland in the black lodge with Dale Cooper, he tells Dale he never killed anyone. Are we to assume that by saying that and the fact that he is in the black lodge and not the outside world implies the real Leland holds some degree of responsibility for the evil deeds he committed as Bob's vessel?

He absolutely does. Watch Fire Walk with Me if you get a chance.

This whole season may hurt your feelings :p

Keep wondering what the significance of the mushroom cloud is if anything. For reference:

Was also at the crew wrap party last year. Is bob gonna steal some uranium for maximum garmonbozia chow down?
I look forward to it.

As for the mushroom cloud imagery, if I had to guess, I would say it's being used a visual metaphor for a destructive event that will hit the town and have far reaching, lingering after effects like Laura's death did in the first two seasons. Just a guess since we know almost nothing about the new season, though.

As do I :)

Well we know at least a part of the season is in
Nevada
, so wouldn't be too surprised if there's some correlation there. Not expecting full on testing site/Groom Lake shenanigans, but as you say more of a thematic connection.

He is scurry

That mask design is creepy in general. Even the kid wearing it in the parking lot gave me the heebie jeebies.

I have a 50/50 thing with Wisdom Earl. On one hand, I 100% agree he feels like a Batman villain that somehow fell into Twin Peaks. And I can't take him seriously as a supposed 'genius'. but on the other hand, I actually kind of love his wtf antics, including the costumes, the fucking horse scene everyone's mentioning, the spiders by the thread thing he does to Leo, and his black teeth scare scene. Also he goes out in a pretty awesome way even if it was Lynch forcing him out of the story, I love how Earl puts so much self-importance on himself and is built up through both seasons, and then goes out as he does; he finds the gateway to the Black Lodge to gain power, but his own ego and self-appointed cleverness is his downfall. As a result, I actually kind of love the character and his arc, even if I agree some of it gets a bit too cartoony.

Sumio Mundo is doing it.

Good to know!

It's so close I can taste it.

Let's keep the gifs safe for work, everyone.

Nobody wants to be at their desk and have a colleague catch them looking at hot garmonbozia slurping action.

Ohhhhhhh,

Does eat oats and goats eat oats and little lambs eat ivy....

Wasn't the first episode or two supposed to play at a film festival? Are there any impressions from that, or early reviews?

First two eps are premiering at Cannes on the 25th, so we'll see it first

Wait...

So after doing an amazing job of keeping everything under wraps, there's a premiere tomorrow? With journalists present, I presume? And celebrities (roll eyes)?

Does this mean it's going to leak before Sunday?

Jesus, I forgot how shit Audrey's story gets in season 2. I blocked a lot of this out.

Leak? As in the whole episode? Naw, it's the Cannes (most prestigious film festival in the world). But we'll likely hear impressions from a few people. I'm torn on it premiering.
