I think I'll be looking to have a flier on the river then Hector and/or Effie can pivot over it, and then also pivot back across to help deal with any attack from Lloyd
we know pretty much jack shit about it, it was announced months ago and teased on the stream before the 'hero fest'. But the files came in this update so it has to be close.
I wonder how hard they could make it. If every battle is on par with a Grand Hero Battle with pumped up 70-80 HP enemies it could be rough. But after weeks of fighting +5s in the arena for flawless runs I feel like they're going to have to come up with some real bullshit.

The perma-death/Vortex event is a mystery indeed.
From the looks of things, it does seem to get progressively tougher as you advance. There are multiple stages and it seems each stage pits you against N consecutive rounds.
So it is pretty much like doing an arena streak without a break.
There also seems to be a squad-based element. I think you get ~5 squads and each stage demands a specific squad, like stage 1 may require squad 1 or something. Dunno if you need to decide each squad at the start or if you can change later.
Either way, if a squad member falls, you can add more to the squad later, so I guess it doesn't matter too much.

I'm thinking either Sharena or FCorrin. You're very heavy in ranged units here, so it may help to have a strong physical unit to tank stuff if necessary. Marth is a fine red sword and your only melee unit, so I'd keep him for the time being.
I really like MRobin though, and think he's underrated in the current meta. He was my first 5* promotion and one of my most versatile units, with a place in every team I've used since. With Triangle Adept, he effortlessly tanks all greys and reds, and oneshots most red lords with +atk boon and attack buff. It's just that he trades off a comparatively weaker player phase to get a much stronger enemy phase than most mages. He is fairly weak at 4* though.
I'd probably either promote MRobin, or replace him with Shareena/FCorrin.
Sharena would be a fine investment as she's probably going to be in the next arena bonus rotation. Her out-of-the-box skill set works great with Nino.

Somehow, my sucky second account is having great luck all of sudden by pulling Julia with 5 orbs and Celica in one full pull. Even better with atk+ or spd+!
It used to have a shit luck and almost abandoned.. Probably I'll play my second account more as my main one slowed down its growth.

sadly no, haven't had a single frederick at all. i decided to do it just because i can't even remember the last time i used cain and he's not really a shoe in for my potential calvary team anyways. but yeah,. frederick and hinata are two "common" units the game refuses to give me.
I'm really liking Julia so far. Sure, she doesn't double most targets but she hits hard enough to oneshot most things, and is strong enough to even do respectable damage against reds. She has enough res to not get oneshot by most magic attacks, too. And it's nice to finally have a delete button against Rein and Linde.
She has a lot of versatility, and I can see how she can patch up a team's weaknesses without making the team cater to her.
Too bad she needs a shitton of SP, since I'm barely using any of her default skills.
It's also funny how her tome is pretty much a Falchion crushed with a Binding Blade into book form.

Yes, but you will probably have fun nuking shit the whole way.
Julia has a rough SP grind too, but thankfully she's been having a relatively easy time with it because she still deals respectable damage through color disadvantages. I put her with a dancer, someone who can tank reds, and a healer, and she just nukes everything.
I've never had an easier time going through 10th stratum.

Fury + G Tomebreaker + Fortify Def. Assist will either be a rally skill or something like Reposition. I'm probably keeping her default special for now, as when she has her special it seems to destroy most units, regardless of color.
She'll likely replace MRobin as my caster on my normal team, to make Ryoma + Nowi + Julia. A more long-term plan is to replace Ryoma with ATiki, partly for the BST and partly because I want to see if I can make ATiki viable. So the final 3-man team would be ATiki + Nowi + Julia.
I have a 3* +def -spd ATiki, which I plan to put more defensive skills on. With Fortify Def + defensive skills, I believe ATiki can reach around 45 defense, which means that she'll be like a red Lukas with Distant Counter, capable of stopping any physical attack outside of TA blues, and possibly even surviving those. ATiki's main weakness is Julia and magic, and I think Julia with Green Tomebreaker covers most of those weaknesses. Nowi can clean up the rest, and cover the weakness to Falchions/DC red swords.

I'm torn between fury and death blow as one also raises speed while the other maximizes the damage.
Speaking of green magical nukes... I'm currently building a horse emblem team and I'm trying to decide what A skill to have on my Cecilia. My options are:

Life and Death 2/3 (From Hana/Jaffar)
Darting Blow 3 (From Florina)
The Cecilia I'm using is +Speed/-Res putting her at 29 speed as a leven 40 5*. Hardly fast, but it becomes a respectable 35 after Hone Cavalry and 39 when you add my Reinhardt's Goad Cavalry on top. I'm leaning toward L&D2 (I don't want to give up my Jaffar) to hit 39 Speed off Hone alone, but I'm looking for a second opinion. Anyone got any thoughts?

I went with Fury because Julia isn't that fragile. Because of her high res and defensive tome, she has a role in baiting and counter-killing mages during enemy phase, too. With Bowbreaker, I think she can counter archers. I think she benefits from all stats that come from Fury.
Fury also helps bring her low speed to safer levels. With Fury + speed buff, she gets up to around 34 speed on default IVs, which makes it much harder to double her.

I have the same intention of making her a mage tank. In that sense, I equipped g-tomb breaker instead for inevitable match against Nino and other Julia.

You will want Glacies as her special which is a 80% of your resistance boost. You can get that from a 4 star Felicia which surprise you just got a 3 star for the seals event.
Good idea. I like Felicia, but I swear I have like 5 of them.
Well, my Julia is -res but maybe it's still worth it. My Robin seems to do fine with Bonfire despite being -def.

Yep. That's pretty much the archetypal Ryoma I encounter in Arena that never fails to make me scream 'fuck you!' at my phone because he never dies in one round, even to my blues and continues to exist as a hell of a problem to every other unit because once vantage triggers he can hugely damage if not outright kill most of my other units before they can finish him unless they themselves have vantage up.
Really, any distant counter melee unit plus vantage has almost no downside. Luckily it's not a widespread combination for now, even if most of the units that usually have it (Hector, Ike, Ryoma) are overpowered.

I've been playing with Spring Camilla for the past two weeks, but I wanted to give melee fliers another try mostly cause my team with Spring Camilla is worth a lot less points. Worked out pretty well as this score is 64 points over what I had while using Spring Camilla.
I'm in no real rush to leave Tier 16 myself. I was never super competitive in Arena, so I am already getting more feathers than I would have before.
In retrospect, or freak out about the 20k feather requirement for upgrading units to 5-stars was super premature. After the voting gauntlet, I am about 800 feathers shy of 20k again, and I just upgraded Erika about 2 weeks ago.
That makes 100k feathers, plus whatever I spent getting people to 3 and 4 stars, in about 3.5 months (while being more of a tuna than a whale).
I am stuck running a team with Genny on it until the Arena roster changes. While I won't be leveling to the next tier with that set up due to my scores being on the lower side, my current team is pretty much invincible in every match up I have seen (Ike, Kagero, Azura, Genny). I think that I have lost 1 character in the past 15 rounds.

Having trouble dealing with Hectors in Arena. Every single time, the issue is a Hector.
How did Roy die to Nino? I thought he should take very little damage from greens thanks to TA and Binding Blade.
Hectors are so common now. Best to always have a TA red or a red lord with you.

My Lucina doesn't even match up to them. She's not fast enough to double.
Trying to work on a Lyn for this scenario.
Do you lack a red melee unit? Most can take Hector. Just kill everyone else, let Hector hit your Melee unit once, and then finish him off the next round after he loses his follow-up bonus when defending.

Oh well, another 30 orbs down the drain with more Laslow, Serra and Gunter. Well, I got a 4* Hinata for a free Fury 3 but that's not enough to make me feel better when he's the only useful thing I got in my last 150 orbs.
I need to do a huge clean-up and send tons of characters away. 295/295. Just don't know who to send away, looks like a lot of work to do to be sure to not regret anything later. I remember someone doing a list of safe characters to send home on Reddit but I don't remember if it's good...
